some are vtg 1 and some are vtg 2. I think they often come out too dark and these would probably benefit from a little tweaking

Travel from Ceremony to Reception

Hey everyone,

My partner and I are getting married in his church. It's in the city where we live/where our family and friends are from. A lot of them still live in the area, with a group residing in the city about an hour and a half east of us.

The reception venue I love is about an hour south of the church. My plan would be to do the room block there. So have the ceremony in our city and then everyone would travel to the reception.

Is that super annoying for guests? I figured it would just be like traveling for any wedding? I assumed after the ceremony everyone could check into their hotels, and then we'd do transport to the venue from there (about ten minutes away).

Does this sound horrible? There are no affordable venues near me that we both love. But culturally, his church is really important to him.

Edit: There is a church that's his religion 16 minutes from the venue. Would that make more sense? Does it make a difference since people have to drive either way?

Do you want to be called "doctor" when you're hospitalized as a patient?

Hey everyone,

Hopefully this is allowed. I (RN) work in a pre op/pacu area. Yesterday I took care of a gentleman who, while making small talk, revealed he is an MD at our facility. I usually call everyone "sir" or "Mr __________." After discharging him, I was reading his consult note where he was always referred to as "Dr _________."

So my question is - what's your preference? Was it rude to say "sir" or "Mr" instead of Doctor? Or would it have made him feel weird to refer to him as Dr? He was incredibly nice and I don't think he would have corrected me if he preferred one or the other. I'm curious what you all think.

Thanks!

Farm Share - Near Somers CT/East Longmeadow MA

Hey everyone!

I'm trying to eat more locally grown produce. I've found a farm share through Holcomb Farm in Granby CT that looks great... But Granby is a little far for me. I live right on the line of MA and CT. Anyone know any good farm shares that are a little closer? Thanks!

Fyi for those taking the ferry early today (Sunday, 8/16)

"The Falmouth Road Race will be Sunday, August 16, 2026. This event severely affects operations on the Martha's Vineyard route, so please plan carefully if you are traveling that morning. This year's race starts one hour earlier than past years, so please read carefully for new details.

While no trips are canceled on the day of the road race, access to the Woods Hole Terminal via Woods Hole Road will be limited until 7 a.m. and closed completely from 7 a.m. until about 9 a.m., or until the last runner is out. Customers should expect travel delays along Woods Hole Road and Palmer Avenue all day as a result of the race."

Seoul Veggies Taste Like Mint?

My first post got removed for capital letters lol.

I got these a few days ago. Made them today. They weirdly have a minty taste? The ingredients do not have any mention of mint. They legit taste like toothpaste to both my partner and I. Is this just us? Does my pan have a mint taste that ruined it? We also had Aldi salmon and that tasted just fine.

CD Player 2018 Tiguan S AWD

Hey everyone,

Looking for some input regarding using an external CD player in my 2018 VW Tiguan S.

I love CDs and I bought an external CD player to use with the car. It has Bluetooth capability but it sucks. I can get it to connect but as soon as I plug my phone in (for GPS) it automatically disconnects then I have to try a million times to reconnect.

I really want to be able to plug it into the radio. I have a USB port but no aux. I have genuinely searched the car high and low and do not have an aux jack.

Is there any way I can connect my CD player to the car using the USB port? I tried to just plug it in but it doesn't seem to read it. I also tried an aux to USB adapter but no luck.

Tiguan in limp mode

Hi everyone,

Having issues with my 2018 Tiguan S and hoping someone has a little info. Disclaimer I know legit zero about cars.

About a month ago I was driving and my car went into "limp mode." I got an alert on the dash saying "max rpm 4000" and the car is extremely shaky and can't accelerate past like 30 mph.

I brought it to my local VW mechanic who said he's seen this before and it's an issue with the fuel injector harness/fuel injectors. They had the car for a month and were unable to fix it. They replaced "everything under the manifold" and continue to get a "P0203 injector code". They said this is the code that keeps putting the car into limp mode.

So I've spent about $1700 replacing all the stuff it "should be" and the car is still in limp mode. My mechanic said he called the dealer and they don't know what else could be causing the code.

I'll attach the invoice if it helps to see what's already been done to the car.

Has anyone ever dealt with this before? Any suggestions? I have been without a car for over a month and really really don't want to buy a new one :(

Pool vaccuum robot that works with wrinkles in liner?

Hi guys,

I have an intex easy set that's about 15 x 48. I wanna say it has around 3500 gallons. It is the kind that has an outer ring that you inflate, no poles or bars. Unfortunately it does have some wrinkles in the liner which I could not get out.

I bought a wybot from Amazon bc it was on sale (bad choice, I know) and it doesn't work at all. It hits a wrinkle and completely stops moving and doesn't start again

Does anyone have recommendations for a robot vacuum that will go over the wrinkles? I do not want one that plus into the filter, just like a self standing one. Ideally under $200 is my budget.

Thanks!

??? CHEAP Wedding Venue ???

Hi everyone!

Long story short - I am planning a wedding for next year. It'll be about 200 people. I want to keep it as cheap as possible.

I am looking for recommendations for cheap, casual outdoor or indoor venues. Honestly things like VFW, Elks clubs, outdoor pavilions, etc. Any suggestions? Ideally somewhere with a decent view/nature around the area. I'm open to anything!

We live in the Enfield area so around there would be most convenient but I also don't mind going further for the right venue and price.

Grand Central -> Forest Hills

Hey y'all,

Headed to NYC in June for Bright Eyes at Forest Hills Stadium. Can someone tell me realistically how long it'll take to get from our hotel near Grand Central to Forest Hills on public transit? Google maps says 45 minutes but the train times app says the trip is 15 min? Just wanna make sure I'm doing things correctly. Can't be late! Thanks
