I feel like it's quite opinionated and quite barebones in what it offers in terms of themes and ricing. I've only been using it for like an hour but coming from KDE Plasma I feel like it's not super intuitive? For example, I can't even drag around the applets on my dock lol. Reordering, removing and adding applets mostly has to be done in settings.

I wanted to try COSMIC because I saw some really pretty rices and I understand it's still quite new but I'm just wondering if theres something I'm missing. How do others feel about it? Do any COSMIC users have any tips for me? I really wanna give this a fair go because it really does look lovely out of the box and would love to be able to make it even more beautiful!!

Someone about 9 days ago commented on a post in this subreddit saying they had made a demon shaped crosshair for D.Mon, but didn't share their setting despite my asking -.-

I'm using Dank Material Shell on Niri and I've noticed that whenever media is not playing, the media player widgets disappear, which I don't love. I was wondering if there was a way to make them persist even after a media player is closed or music is paused etc.

AND if it's possible, I'd love to make it so the Cava audio visualiser widget displays a kind of sine wave animation when media is not playing. Does anyone know how to do this or if it's even possible? Thank you so much!!

I would say size and weight are least important. I'm not planning on doing any heavy gaming or anything on it so performance doesn't need to be insane.

hello! I've been playing the game for 6+ years but I've always been too scared to play ana for whatever reason lol. I've been wanting to play her because she reminds me of my late great grandma but I feel like I'm never as impactful on ana as I am on someone like illari or kiriko who are my other mains.

so I guess does anyone have any tips? I've heard about quick scoping and stuff but I'm not entirely sure how to pull that off efficiently. I mostly just hide in the back line and heal my team from afar and get picks when the opportunity presents itself.

Hello! I recently watched Dammit Jeff's video about how to quit Spotify, and I became inspired to start a Plex server using an old laptop I had lying around. I've installed ZimaOS on it and have got the server up and running, but now comes the part where I have to try and replicate a decade's worth of playlists that I am very much emotionally attached too, lol

I know about slskd and lidarr, but I'm wondering if there is a way for me to automate the process of replicating my Spotify playlists in Plex/Plexamp? I know it's possible to get the CSV files of my playlists and stuff, but it's not quite what I'm after, I guess? There's also the issue of songs existing across multiple playlists, so I don't want to download duplicates and waste time and storage.

Also, once I've got all this playlist stuff sorted out I would love to automate the process of scanning my music library and completing the albums for all the individual songs I have downloaded, but that's for future me to tackle. Is that something lidarr can do?

I'm very new to all of this, I only just started tinkering with Linux in the past couple of months so if I've said something dumb, please be kind to me. I've always regarded Linux users and people with the ability to do this kind of stuff as kind of intimidating, and as dumb as it seems this is taking a lot of courage for me to ask, but I don't want to resort to AI models to tell me what to do. I want to be an active member of this community and learn from my elders and my peers!

Advice on developmental status of kitten

Hello! I have a kitten who is about 8 months old now. We took her to the vet maybe 3 months ago now where they advised us that it would be best to wait until 10 weeks after her first heat before we spay her.

Now, I have no idea whether her first heat has come or not. I feel like she must be a bit old now for it to have not happened, but there haven't been any super obvious behavioural changes in her to suggest she's gone into heat. I genuinely haven't noticed anything, except for one thing.

When we got her we had two other resident female cats, both adults, Ponyo and Nin. Jiji (the kitten) LOVES her older sisters and genuinely doesn't have a single mean bone in her body. She's obsessed with them and loves to play, and usually her sisters play too!

However, in the past few weeks sometimes Jiji gets a bit too rough with her wrestling and it upsets Nin in particular because Ninny is quite small. Jiji will chase Nin and jump on her back and bite her neck. She isn't biting hard, but it is enough to make Ninny try to run away and hide from Jiji until Jiji calms down. Usually Jiji understands when she's gone too far and stops, but sometimes she's still got excess energy to burn so we redirect her with toys and what not (she used to just chase and chase forever when she was smaller, but she's much better at boundaries now).

Anyway, my point is, is this new rougher play a sign that she's gone into heat, or just a growing kitten who's unaware of how big she's gotten (since she's been wrestling with her sisters since she was small)? Obviously it'd be ideal to ask a vet, but I don't really want to make the trip and pay unnecessary expenses just to answer a non-urgent question. Do any of her behaviours I've mentioned here indicate she's reached sexual maturity?

I recently acquired a HP Stream 11 for pretty cheap on Facebook Marketplace, and I mostly bought it because it was hot pink and I really love cute tech

Ive seen it be "lovingly" referred to as e-waste before given how atrocious the specs are, even for its time, so I was thinking of replacing the parts and modding it to be a more powerful machine while preserving the housing. I installed Linux mint on it (to replace windows 8) and while it's certainly much more stable it's still not great.

I was wondering how viable such an endeavour would be? I have never undertaken a project like this before, I've modded gaming consoles before and replaced the housing on my Nintendo switch but I've never messed with the internals of anything.

I know many parts will likely be hard to find... so if anyone knows where I could start I'd be so grateful!!
