Hard ask, indulge my glimpse into Drumpf’s mindset, while I spit it out for my own mental health as a rant, which follows.
Since IDGAF about anyone but me, and want vengeance on everyone, and must stay out of jail knowing my role in and the raw inhumanity of the global sex trafficking conspiracy, I only hire people implicated by the Epstein files to serve in my administration.
Given that the Supremes granted me immunity for all crimes committed as President, I hired RFK Jr as a bonus to sully the Kennedy name thus elevating mine.
No one can stop me.
Instruct AI to be “introspective “
Simply, document the process and resources used to derive conclusions. Export this as a standard .xml that can understood by other AI entities.
Ask the AI what it means to be “introspective.” Employ the power within to see if a sense of “right and wrong” could lead to rules to help the algorithms understand how wrong answers could harm itself.
My broader thought was, if they’re this evolved and so smart, asking them to show their work and defend it is something PhD candidates have to do.
Then, they get peer reviewed.
Not long ago there was a similar post like this, and the strongest argument against the proposition was “AI was wasting enough electricity, water and other resources right now.”
Then ask AI how not to waste less. Make AI optimize, peer review, and instill some sense of introspection.
Typing this on an iPad I wanted and didn’t put quotes around my spurious terms to acknowledge them as such. A form of laziness, true, and lack of accountability AI should not abide.
tl;dr must be held accountable for results, peer review, and understand consequences through something akin to “introspection” and a worldview within the constraints of Asimov’s three laws.
Or we may face an extinction event. Serious shit.
McGill & Sons
I’d watch a prequel to “Better Call Saul” about the Charles and James McGill boys at the McGill stop and shop helping their parents.
Maybe Bob Odenkirk and Michael McKean could take turns as the reliable/unreliable narrator?
Who could portray Father McGill? There are a lot of good actors in Chicago.
In 1965 my guess is Chuck is 12 and Jimmy would be 5.
Would you watch this?
Casting and other ideas?
“Five-0”-S01E06
My third time around and this episode stands out again as the best episode in the whole series.
First time then and there I knew Jonathon Banks won the Emmy.
Seeing it again hit me stronger than the second time.
Gould, Gilligan and Schnauz, just, wow. They set it up and Gordon Smith got the sole writing credit.
Hail, hail to the great Jonathan Banks. His performance will stay with me forever.
Relevancy
This show hasn’t been funny since Adam Felber left the writing staff. Mr. Maher is too old to know he’s too old hence lacks the somber introspection of what it means to be wise. His pathetic grasp towards relevancy is undermined by his pettiness common in old men.
HBO, are you monitoring this subreddit? You’d do better with John Fugelsang or Hal Sparks.
Case in point regarding the data center debate, the overwhelming electricity demand of data centers NEVER CAME UP. He’s not sharp.
I’ve been engaged with BM from the Politically Correct days to now, it’s time for me to get off his lawn.
There’s a word for the feeling when seeing a face you immediately want to punch
Of course it’s German. Backpfeifengesicht.
It perfectly translates to "a face badly in need of a fist" or "a punchable face".
Here’s a pronunciation guide: https://youtu.be/uECIglXZTFs
I am not encouraging violence. Just saying this feeling has a word. And in German it sounds like the feeling.
My Brother
Really this is about his wife, caregiver is more like it. I asked her what I could do to help.
“Answer his calls” she said.
I have insomnia, from a lot things, lest among them he is me in 10 years. When I can sleep, what riles me the most is being waken up.
We’ve done schedules and he calls anyway. The way my phone is set up, three calls in a row means he gets through. Of course by then I am in no mood to have the same conversation again.
My SIL is a saint and going through hell.
So what’s your advice? I am far away but could relocate, not sure if that would help things.
One last thing: he was there for our family when my dad died, so there is a karmic debt.
Thank you.
Solution! Autocorrect and autocomplete editing issues with iPad and Reddit
When typing/correcting my Reddit posts on my iPad with Chrome, it has been glitchy and a nuisance and especially annoying since I don’t have a physical keyboard.
The trick (I am using it now) is to initially “Switch to Markdown” before composing.
The feeling is akin to the relief of loosening a too tight underwear waistband.

Slip-ins? Take the laces down a rung.
I‘m on my 10th pair.
Nurses love them.
hold em hole cards: always play and never play
Of course AA is the best and 27 off suit is the worst.
I’m not interested in a discussion about solvers or game theory.
This is more of a personal thing, something akin to favorite hole cards and hole cards you’d never play.
Please reply favorite and never, and why, if there is a reason.
Edit: no wrong answers, and please include your favorite and never.

Anyone else have one of these?
A friend worked on the show, it didn’t fit her. Lucky me.
[TOMT] What’s the live action stop motion comedic western shorts w/Monty Python aesthetic from the 1970s (USA)?
I remember the cowboys were extremely bow legged with 20 gallon hats, played by real people, and the villain had an exaggerated mustache and was in all black, and the hero was in all white. Both were extremely exaggerated caricatures.
The plots were simple, no words were spoken, and here’s the most defining feature: when moving we never saw their feet on the ground.
Apparently they’d jump in the air and bend their legs behind them, take a few steps, jump in the air and bend their legs behind them, take a few step, and repeat this over and over. The frames where they took steps were cut, so they appeared to (clumsily) be “floating.” Basically stop motion animation with real people.
IIRC, they were monotone, maybe in black and white, and had the Monty Python aesthetic in production quality, humor, and tone, very Terry Gilliam-esque.
As a kid growing up in Iowa in the 70s I saw them at the drive-in. If they had music, it didn’t make an impression on me, though I may not’ve heard it as I was probably running around goofing off.
I did a search on archive.org and the keywords “stop motion animation” “cowboys” “comedy shorts” brought up cartoons, and I ended up at a dead end.
Thank you.
edit: I got some of the details completely wrong, but u/QuotonBomb absolutely came through. Amazing. Thank you so much.
Greasy Grimy Gopher Guts
All purpose porpoise butts, Little birdy’s dirty feet, And…I…forgot…my spoon.
Something about school lunch. Mutilated monkey meat?
Ring a bell?
edit: an idle recollection, and look what happened, what an amazing subreddit, thank you Generation Jones. This is apt, as we’re not Boomers or GenX, look at we can do.
It’s About time.
It’s about space.
It’s about time I slap your face.

Comet
…it tastes like Listerine,
Comet, it’ll make your mouth turn green,
Comet, it’ll make you vomit,
So eat Comet, and vomit, today!
From now on it’s the Deflection Pool

‘I Heard That You Like Gay Porn’: Thomas Massie Erupts At Reporter In Heated Confrontation
Hey Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.):
Someone insults you. You try to think of the most hurtful thing, but since you have no empathy you have to look inside yourself, and you may have never looked, and definitely not looked intensely.
So the insult that comes out of your mouth discloses your secret fear. When you were 14. American political debate comes down to exchanging “that’s what you are, but what am I.”
Spare us.
