Suggestions for choosing drawer heights and number of drawers?

What are some suggestions for determining how to maximize the height and number of drawers for your bench? Is there a known process or formula?

I am adding approx. 18 drawers to my garage wall workbenches. It’s a standard wall bench with a lower section for a desk in the middle that will one day support a miter saw. (My dewalt doesn’t fit but it’s still good so it stays on its folding stand.)

The benches are in two sections.
There are 4 mobile carts under the overall bench. The drawers will go into these carts.
They are 30H 29W 23D.

One half of the will be my woodworking tools.

The other half will be mechanics tools. (Deep 1/2 and 3/8 sockets/ rackets, wrenches etc. )

I winged it for my closet built ins but I am thinking that there is an actual method that I just don’t know yet.

Do you have any tips that you use to maximize the spaces in your bench drawers?

First sewing machine! … and now I need a case.

My wife bought me a sewing machine! I told her that I made a duffle bag in school that I still use after almost 40 years and we could use it for so many projects. She’s amazing.

As I was searching for a case, I saw that there are many different options. Before I purchase a $65 case, I am looking to see what kind of storage people find most useful.

What do you for a case? Hard cases, bag case, a plastic tote, or something else.

I anticipate it being used a few times a year, when not in use, I would like to store it in cabinet.

What are some suggestions?

Dust collection. Parallel or perpendicular to the table saw instead?

Just trying to confirm my hunch.

I’m adding a dust collection system from This Old House to my table saw/ assembly table. (Pic 1)

It’s my first dust collection setup. The video shows their example running the length of the table. (Pic 3) I’m guessing that to keep the lines as straight and as short as possible for better suction.

Question: how will running them perpendicular to the table saw affect the set up? (Pic 2)

This is best way to handle “Labor only” quotes that I have ever seen.

I am not in construction. But I do know that when you hire someone, you’re paying for their experience, tools, their experience with those tools, and all the things that you don’t think of as even a experienced DIYer.

My favorite part was (paraphrased),

I am gonna need you to pick up a $1200 Milwaukee saw and three pack of blades bc you’re asking for labor only.

How strong would this be?

I found this video from The Old House while looking for in—table dust collection for a SawStop job site pro.

What blew my mind is that the workbench/ outfeed table is made entirely from plywood; the entire thing.

No 2x4s, 4x4, etc or any wood framing.

How sturdy would this actually be?

▲ 62 r/SimCity

I was watching a video on YT about a guy camping/flying in British Columbia and as he flew over Vancouver, the first thing I thought was simcity!

Check out these screen shots.

It’s been many moons since I have played 2000 or 3000. Happy memories.

(I definitely used the cheat codes)
