I grew up as an early Gen Z (born in 2003) in a poor region and always felt more like a Millennial because it seemed like the digital boom had passed me by, unlike western Gen Z. How common is this?

When I was a kid, I used to watch old Disney cartoons on VHS tapes that I inherited from my Millennial uncles and aunts. My Gen Z cousin born in 1997, didn’t have a touchscreen phone until he turned 18, and even then it was a really old model of smartphone. My first phone, which I received as a gift in 2013, was a button phone with a green screen and black pixels on it (I don’t know what it’s called). Until the mid-2010s, we only had Windows XP, and video games were a luxury reserved for rich kids. The cultural references, jokes, and shows we watched were also very Millennial. As a kid, I was dressed in a very millennial style (skinny jeans, plaid shirts, etc.), and I carried that style with me until the late 2010s. Even now, I feel really old fashioned compared to other Z's online, lol

Being E5 female and feeling non feminine, poorly represented

Has anyone had a similar experience? From my earliest childhood, my habit of analyzing everything, immersing myself deeply in very specific sciences, and my desire to spend time alone with myself were condemned by society and my family, and were considered something "not feminine.". At the same time, boys with the same character were perceived by society as "serious" and "academic" Even now, in the big 2026, Enneagram 5 women are poorly represented, or they are exposed as nerds in the media, who needs to be "corrected" by relationships, because they are not feminine enough to be considered a full-fledged female character…

My hyperfixations make me suffer BUT communities (fan accounts if you like) about my interests make me suffer even more!

I have very severe cases of autism, ADHD, and maladaptive daydreaming—so severe that they interfere with my real life. Over the past 10 years, as my condition has worsened, I’ve developed very intense hyperfixations; to give you an idea, they live in my head rent-free, and I’ve lost the ability to even communicate normally with people (that’s why many people have turned away from me). Sometimes I find fan accounts online dedicated to my interests, but those fans can afford to buy expensive merch related to my interests, draw beautiful art, make great edits, but I don’t even have enough money for a poster, and I’m not capable of drawing well or editing videos (due to learning difficulties and technical limitations). I’ve made an edit about my favorite movie Orphan but it get like 3 likes and one hate comment so I deleted it. I feel like a complete nobody; I feel as If I don’t deserve my interests, I feel envy toward others and I feel self-hatred, as if I’ll never be able to live the life of a neurotypical person, and at the same time, I can't even get involved in the field that truly interests me, because I'm repelled by the one thing that truly brings me pleasure. That's why I started self-harming. i feel so miserable. I just need to know that I'm not alone, please, I feel like I'm losing my mind.

Thinking out loud: Gen Alpha and Gen Beta will be drastically different and this will lead to their generational conflict

Please listen to me. I have a strange hunch that Beta will be radically different from Alpha. Perhaps the betas will be less ambitious and quieter, like Gen Z 2.0. Mental health issues and discussions will become relevant again in 20-30 years. Perhaps this is due to the fact that betas will be the children of Gen Z, and this will affect them in such a way that they will be very reflective. Oh boy, this is going to create a huge gap between alphas and betas, almost the same way Gen Z look at millennials and boomers, if not worse. I also have a feeling that betas will be a very nostalgic generation.

Dogs hate me?

I've always been kind to animals, but I've noticed that dogs hate me for no apparent reason. My cat loves me, he sleeps in the same bed with me, brings me things he plays with or food, rubs against my legs. Stray cats come up to me on the street or when I feed them. I can make friends with even the most sullen cat, who scratches and hisses at everyone. But for some reason, dogs always growl at me and take a defensive position, whether it's a relative's dog, a street dog, or a friend's dog. No matter how friendly and careful I am. Dogs can be friendly or neutral to other people in my environment, but they are hostile to me, why is this happening?

What’s going on with the website?

The site is running very slowly, errors are constant, I can't even delete messages, now there is a black screen. I haven't used character ai for about 3 months and it haven't had so many problems before. My age is verified, WI-Fi is fast.

I ignore basic needs like eating, taking a bath, sleeping just to daydream while listening to music and sometimes it ends badly

I have terrible mats on the back of my head, I haven't showered in a week, I'm terribly hungry and an infection has started in my ear because I haven't taken off my airpods. To be honest, I've lost my chances of a normal life since I was 4.

for context: I live in constant panic because of the war in my country, I have bad relations with relatives whom I hate, problems with constant firing from work, no money, no success in my hobby

It’s an easy way to justify your failures at something. If you can’t draw as beautifully as someone who’s been doing it effortlessly since childhood, then you just don’t have a talent for it. If you can’t run as fast as an athlete who does it easily and efficiently, then you weren’t born with that talent and the body that gives you that buff. You can train for it, you can do it 24/7, but if you don’t have a talent for it, you’ll never be as good as someone who does. And if a talented person trains, they’ll achieve even more than you.
