Restaurant Recommendations

hello everyone!

i’m traveling to Charleston next weekend with my family for my birthday, and wanted some restaurant recommendations.

namely, recommendations for italian restaurants and seafood restaurants (with crab legs of course).

we have a reservation for Shiki because i’m a huge sushi fan :)

thank you!

Student Loan Debt Law

hello!

i’m an incoming animal science major student wanting to become a veterinarian. it’s been my dream.

however, the new student loan requirements make it impossible for me to afford vet school.

i really want to work with animals and wildlife and all of the above, but i just can’t afford to become a vet. i’ll still try, but i want an alternate path.

does anyone have any suggestions or careers they looked into? should i major in something different than animal science? i expect to graduate with my bachelors in two years and my undergrad is fully paid for, so i can change, but i really love the pre-vet track…. though it is kind of exclusive for any other career.

or.. more preferably.. does anyone have any advice on how to afford vet school now?

Undergrad Majors?

hello!

after the new student loan law news, i am incredibly worried about my future in animal science.

i am an incoming pre-vet animal science freshman and am wondering if i should change my major for wider experience just in case the field doesn’t work out someday. i really, really want to become a vet, but i won’t be able to afford it.

does anyone else have these concerns or any similar experiences/situations? i still want to do something with animals but i am so so worried :(

Pineapple upside down cake

calorie estimates in 1/8 slice of this pineapple upside down cake? not the whole missing triangle, just half of the missing triangle

it was made with the Betty Crocker Super Moist Yellow cake mix (listed on second photo), it was a little less than 1in thick

the pineapples and cherries were pre-canned

it was amazing :)

Fear Foods

i’ve always been a foodie, always loved food and sweets and everything in between.

i went to a bakery today i used to love because i was craving cinnamon rolls, so i bought one.

it looks amazing, but it’s huge and covered in icing. im scared to eat it.

now its sitting in my kitchen, and im still trying to wonder how i can eat dinner tomorrow and a massive cinnamon roll. and its so annoying because i want both.

i just wish i could enjoy the foods i want without mathematical calculations.

does anyone have any advice of how they overcame it? i dont think i can do all in right now. i’m trying to work towards it, but its so hard.

Bakery cinnamon roll

any estimates?

it’s pretty big with quite a bit of cinnamon filling. maybe around 550-600? overestimate 700?

i’m only splitting it so that makes me feel better 😓

Matcha/Chai Scoops

hello everyone!

i was wondering if Starbucks’ matcha or chai scoops are the sweetened ones that have calories?

i am not tracking anything of the sort currently, but i was wondering because i’ve heard that they’ve changed their recipes so i was curious!

hopefully this will be helpful for people actually tracking!

ANS Electives

does anyone know if you can take both ANS 110 and ANS 105 as a part of the ANS electives for an animal science major?

i know you can’t when you’re taking an animal science minor, but i was just wondering.

thanks!

Strawberry cream cheese cream horn

- from a local bakery
- filling only looks super full, the inside was actually more puff than cream cheese
- about 7 inches long?
- photos are from their reviews

(and yes, i did eat the entire thing, and yes, it was delicious, and yes, it was incredibly incredibly sweet)
