What is really the extent of things you get rid of? When you finally are able to move out

Most people make it seem, like you really get rid of EVERYTHING. But I was just thinking and said, yeah that can't be the case at all. As I was thinking of certain things people, might have brought into their new space.

First off top is the shoes on your feet and clothes on your back. These usually are going, because you ain't waving the old home. Then going to shop and throwing those clothes out before going back to the new home.

The other things are stuff like your phone, wallet, credit cards, medicine, supplements, etc. Where all these things haves sat around and collected the spores.

I mean I say all that to say, what is really the true extent of things people get rid of and actually keep? Because yeah you might get rid of the expensive air purifier, as it was pulling in that air. Or maybe you might not, as it cost too much lol.

I basically decided to stop buying anything for this mold apartment I'm stuck in. As I really don't want to end up buying something I like, like for example a rug or curtains. Then realize I probably have to throw this out.

I've been in situations in the past, after a house fire. Where I literally only had to grab a few things and then part with everything else forever. But I'm just thinking how far that goes, with this mold situation. Like can I not bring a table, that I can just clean down with soap and vinegar?

I feel like this is actually what me and most people are probably dealing with. That is what led to things like candida and sibo (via:@gut_love)

Most get lost in the loop of trying to heall gastritis and decreasing their acid. Then you have others like me, that tried to increase their acid many times to no luck. But I feel what's really going on is an issue with my gallbladder. Whether it's missed gallstones or a sluggish gallbladder, that need a HIDA scan. Where it's causing this influx of bile to be pushed back up into my gut daily. One of the main reasons why I've haad a struggle with trying to absorb fats and animal protein.

How safe is it taking ACV and Betaine HCL in the same meal?

I know you take the ACV before meal. Then it's OK to take Betaine shortly right after in the middle of meal or at the same time?

I was laying off the acid increasers for a minute. But betting tired of eating anything and seeing it immediately affected by bad bacteria. It might just be low stomach acid, however it literally feels like nothing. I could eat a single grape and that will travel back up my esophagus lol.

Idk what I was doing in the past to mess up or maybe it was something I didn't have included back then. Like maybe the digestive enzymes, probiotics, gut healing supplements, etc. But I only took the ACV alone because Iwas worried how both might react together and it actually did something for once.

If you had a flare up, would you still go thru with a colonoscopy in 2 days?

Been having this upper and lower colon pain for years now. It gets flared up basically everyday from fats, gluten, sugar and fiber gets stuck really bad all the time.

I rescheduled a couple times. Because I'll do the prep in the past and Im sure my left side would be inflamed. So I'll essentially never be able to clear out well and end up with stool that still is yellow by the end of the night. As well as just still feeling like I need to shit, but can't because things wouldn't be able to push forward.

I just flared myself up again recently, with the same group of foods. About to cut out most of those, since do have better confirmation of the pain/inflammation it's causing. Probably still test out fats in tiny amounts.

I'm wondering what would you do, if you had a colonoscopy coming up and got a flare? I'm worried about two things really, not being able to clear out. Then having a lot of inflammation on the left side, to where I might end up getting messed up by the scope and getting a perforation.

Directions on the box of the prep, is different from the label the pharmacy placed

I'm doing what I think is Suprep? It doesn't say Suprep anywhere so I'm not sure. It's the prep where you have two bottles and a cup. Where it says you take one dose at night and then the other before the procedure.

But the sticker I see on the box, is different. Where it says to take the whole two bottle dose together, as that adds up to 354ml.

Im going to see if I can reach anybody today, as I'm supposed to do this tomorrow. But have anybody ever had to do both bottles at the same time?

For those that are very sensitive to fats. How are you incorporating it in your day? I believe my gastritis, is from bile reflux

I have a lot of food sensitivities. Fats, fiber, sugar, oxalates, histamines, etc. But the fat one probably causes the most, as it's only one I have to consume daily. I was just looking at the normal number of fats and idk how people e em eat that amount. They say 45 grams is on the low end.

Whenever I used to eat very high fat, it was a good chance I was overeating. Whether it was the carnivore diet, which I'm sure I really messed up my stomach times 10 on that. I didn't know I had gastritis back then tho.

Or whether it was when I got into snacking with rice cakes, nut/seed butters and coconut butter. I was eating a ton of that each day, along with ground chicken with probably 7% fat. And I always had insane inflammation and acid reflux back then. My head was basically dizzy all day, from just being so nauseous and inflamed. That I couldn't even poop when I had diarrhea, as the inflammation had my stool locked in.

I never got no mention of the specific gastritis I had back during my endoscopy. So kind of had to just do my research, look at the obvious symptoms and put it together myself. But by cutting back on fiber and paying attention to what I eat when my colon is inflamed. Definitely has helped me start to finally see more formed stools again. I didn't even think it was possible, but I have to still work on tons of food sensitivities to keep things from being not irritated 100%.

I mean the fat thing makes so much sense. As I haven't been able to gain more 130 pounds for many many years. Unless if I was severely constipated and inflamed. But things would always drop back to 130 on the scale again.

How much fat are yall eating or did you have to completely avoid it? I knkow fat is crucial for our bodily functions. However if I need to cut it for some time, I will do so to heal.

Has anybody rode a Vanmoof or use one daily? Is it light enough to carry up stairs? Been wanting to buy one for a while

u/daveishere7 — 6 days ago

You know it's bad, when you leave fruit out for only 2 days and it starts getting moldy/drying out

I bought some red grapes and papaya like I always do. But I typically would wash the grapes, cut up the papaya and store them in the freezer. It was already filled up, so I just let it sit out for 2 days.

Then when I got ready to get it ready to be stored in the freezer. I seen the grapes had mold and the papaya was bone dry inside. This is fruit that would usually last days in the supermarket. Somehow it ends up getting old in my place like that.

Pretty sure my constipation is from hypothyroidism. I unfortunately haven't been able to get a referral for a endocrinologist though

I've technically always had constipation of some form. Whether it was me waking up when I was younger and never having a bowel movement. Or straining through out most of my years and thinking that was a normal thing to do. Until i realized too late, that I shouldn't be doing that at all.

If it want clumpy logs, it was diarrhea half the time. Which would make sense, as I don't think I ate enough fiber most my life. Outside of things like oatmeal, granola bars, French fries or the rare fruit and salad.

I think the first sign should of been, when my body was showing signs of an overgrowth 10 yrs ago. With dthe excess dandruff, rashes, fungal toenail, stink body odor, burning underarms, etc. Or when the toxic buildup got worse 5 years later and I had yellow eyes similar to jaundice, fatty smelly stools, smelly wet earwax. I also had developed a enlarged thyroid at some point too and I believe I was so sick and filled with toxins, that my brain was thinking like a drunk or drug addict. So unfortunately I never went to the doctor for obvious emergencies back then. Mainly because I didn't have insurance as well.

But yeah shortly after that, things slowly started to click with diet. I remember I was first focused on acid reflux and I was also trying out Metamucil for the first time. And also for the first time, I had a formed stool in my life. Eventually something happened and that stopped working. I think that's a around the time I got a inguinal hernia and it took me years to get that removed.

The thing is as time went, I started eating more healthier and things that would be good for the thyroid. However even while eating a whole foods diet, things were not getting necessarily easier to poop. I just would have years where I was now even more bloated from the fiber.

At some point I think with this constipation. I think I also ruptured something in my colon. To the tune of maybe like diverticulitis. So fiber always has a hard time getting thru the tight junction on the left side. Which I feel was another result of an underactive thyroid, as well as previous years of not enough fiber and too much processed food.

Everytime I'd try to get an endocrinologist referral, it'd end up getting ignored. Since my basic thyroid panel would always end up showing as normal. But I'm going to see my primary soon again and hope to bring it up. As I've basically been dabbling with some processed food and gluten again, like sourdough bread and crackers. Where I not just end up with a upset stomach, which has at least been helping me get bowel movements more consistently. Then also I would notice how weak my thyroid would get and how poor my hormones would function.

Speaking of hormones, I'm a grown adult man. However I go thru these daily spouts, of where I'm either speaking too softly like I'm scared or having rare moments where I feel the strength and energy to act my age. It took me a while to pick up that these were my hormones not performing well and I used to think it was me being weak, due to my stomach hurting or being tired. When it was also both of those, and it was because of the thyroid working a much lower pace.

It would also play out in other ways in life. Where if my thyroid was having a better day, because the weather would be better and I'm eating well. I might find myself being more happy, productive, engaging and wanting to truly live life again. But then as soon as it'd get cloudy or dark, all my energy would dissappear. You could blame that maybe on low vitamin D, however I think the bigger picture is all of my hormones functioning less due to the thyroid. Which then also has been the result of very poor bathroom visits for most my life.

I go on a daily reoccurance of, forgetting that most of my acid reflux is due to most likely mold/candida/sibo and not gastritis

I'm in a weird position when it comed to managing my symptoms, while still being stuck living in the mold environment. I had gut issues before I moved here in 2022. So I believe I either got mold from the first place I lived on my own or I ended up developing candida thru out that time. As my eating habits were very binge worthy.

However even if it was candida what I had first. I've seen the heavy mold in the wooden floors, of the place I'm currently stuck at. And I've literally seen myself decline in productivity. Even though this place is where I've started eating my healthiest in 2023.

It's tough trying to manage things. Working a physical and very low income job, realizing I rescheduled so many appointments because I was very sick from this place. Sometimes I think if I didn't have to eat and cook all my meals. I would probably just move out and go to like a shelter, until I saved up for a room or something.

Technically I'm supposed to be eating a no carb or keto diet for eirher mold or candida. But I've been pretty fat intolerant for years now. Where I used to deal with fatty stool and gallbladder pains. So trying to do keto, I wouldn't have any energy for my job and I'm already tired enough.

But yeah, I realized I've been focused a lot on gastritis lately. As I'm always trying to heal the gut lining. Within that though, I've found myself doing things that probably made me more sick on the fungal side of things. As I have to eat gentle meals, that often consist of carbs that will feed the fungus. It's unfortunate the only way I can eat now though.

Since any time I'll eat fat, I'll end up with an upset stomach. Even fiber is very harsh on my gut at times. As I think thru the years, I developed some damage to my colon. Feels like diverticulitis, maybe could be crohn's or ulcerative colitis. But I have my colonoscopy next week and hopefully I can have a good prep, then get answers on that.

Anybody else, living in mold or left mold. But you have to eat a certain way that's still healthy. It just ends up not being the best for mold or candida detox though?

What does your supplement routine look like?

I typically only eat 3 normal sized meals, with some snacks in between. Tbh it usually gets pretty bad daily, due to cravings getting out of hand and not feeling full.

But I'm about to cut out some stuff again. Then try to figure out how to spread my gut healing supplements out the day. I don't take PPI's and doojt plan on it either. So it's reallly just zinc carnosine, dgl powder, l-glutamine, saacharomyches boulardi, culturelle probiotics, Ester-c vitamin c and some other supplements that I never feel. Maybe due to low stomach acid or the stomach just always being irritated.

I think I'm going to try out the 6 small meal thing again maybe. Things seem to get the worst, when I eat fats, processed sugar, animal protein, high fodmaps and other acidic foods. What does your day of supplements usually look like timing wise?

One of these days, I feel like I'm just going to order some Shake Shack or Thai food like old times and not give a damn lol

It's the same bs every single day. Eat some fiber, get some gas, eat any kind of fat, get some gas, eat gluten, dairy, soy, high fodmaps, oxalates, etc. Get some gas, plus, constipation, joint pain, brain fog, depression, overflow trapped diarrhea, fatigue and basically can't work my body how I need to.

I've probably had gut issues all my life. Most of the time in the past, I just ignored acid reflux, gas or whatever. As I was truly ignorant to it all. It wasn't until my food intolerances got more severe and where I was seeing my body become toxic. With excessive dandruff, odor, earwax, pain and more.

Where I got into doing learning about my health a few years ago. But even though I was a complete hot mess back before that. There was nothing that compared to that happiness. Where I was literally just eating whatever I wanted all day long. Buying Dunkin evry morning, eating Shake Shack, Thai food, Indian food. Eating ice cream, cookies, beer and chips each night. My stupid brain was truly on cloud 9 back then. Even though none of that shit was even being processed in my body as energy. That's why they say ignorance is bliss. As I literally didn't know how bad it was.

How bad is your breathing and inflammation levels daily?

I've suffered with bloating and gut issues before I came here. To where after a couple years, I noticed I'd constantly have my mouth open or I'd be mouth breathing during physical activity. To where I tried different things like mouth breathing techniques and what not.

It wasn't until I had a rare moment, where I actually brought down all my inflammation head to toe. Where I really noticed how severe this shit was. And it was like an moment, that finally made it make sense. To why I was behaving off, why I could not do simple task normal anymore. Such as just walking, sitting in a chair comfortably, talking, even just looking at things or people were weird. As there was just alwayss constant gas and inflammation built up.

But one of the scariest things of it all, was truly the breathing. I'd be going for check ups and every single time, my blood pressure would be off. Then the nurses would be worried about the numbers. I knew it haad to be due to the apartment, as I noticed I barely ever had a normal breathing moment in there.

Buying an AC didn't change much, keeping the windows open year round. But it always feel like I'm breathing in a box or something. It affects my digestion, my mood, my energy levels and all. I could just sit and be on my phone all day. As I literally don't got energy at all. Even if I go outside, it usually takes a couple hours for the breathing to get right.

I'm going to cut out animal protein, fats, processed foods and anything acidic for a few days

I just had a moment the other day, when I maybe for the first time ever. Had finally cut down on the amount of fat I ate in a day. Where I noticed my gut was a little more relaxed. I really picked up on this when I was riding my bike, and typically my stomach would hurt over any kind of bump. I've also seen I wasn't as anxious in some situations, especially around people.

I also had something crazy, when I had relaxed my gut. Where afterwards I'd ate the same meal, just with animal meat. Then I'll end up with a headache and acid reflux would return.

I've had my battles with animal meat for way, way too long. I tried to increase acid for literally years now. Doing everything like betaine hcl, apple cider vinegar, lemon juice, digestive bitters, fasting, eating smaller amounts, eating the leanest portions. It juaat didn't matter, it'd always feel like a rock in my gut and I'll always end up with acid reflux. Unless if I ate something afterwards to soak up the acid.

With fats it always made sense I had a problem too. I mean I've literally been 130 lbs for as long as I can remember. With my weight going below at times on different diets and my weight going above. Only due to really bad constipation and gas, of not being able to hardly have a bowel movement.

I remember the last time I did the vegan diet, there was always lots of fat involved. Mainly thru nut butters, coconut butter, olive oil and coconut oil. I was also probably eating a lot of acidic fruits as well too.

It's also always been incredibly hard, because I mean I REALLY screwed up my gut lining over the years. With one of those issues being oxalates, so I've always had to tip toe doing that diet. Whike mainly sticking to certain beans, avoding high oxalate foods like tofu, spinach, dragonfruit, etc.

All this damage has been really taxing on my liver. Which is why I believe I have all these food intolerances. I never paid attention to the early signs of acid reflux or indigestion, which then led to further gut damage. That I feel at times, like there's a hole or two in my lower and mid left side. Hope to get definite answers on that, after my colonoscopy.

But yeah I'm down to hardly nothing to eat these days. I was focused a lot on bacteria and fungus overgrowths being the culprit. I just think I'm going to do whatever to make sure I don't produce acid overflow. So I can finally really give this gut a chance at healing. To maybe actually gain some weight for once and then build up the stomach strength to eat animal protein and fat again. As well as properly clear up the liver. To where my eyes are actually white again, inflammation isn't on high, maybe grow my hair back after years of not being able to absorb shit.

So if you still having issues with acid. Maybe you might have to relax on meat and fat for a min, cut down on the salt and all that. As I literally am a skinny guy, but I've had a bloated stomach since forever. I was so ignorant, I thought it was normal and nothing wrong. It makes a lot of sense for my anxiety, bad decisions, poor sleeping habits, poor bowel habits, overeating and still being hungry as hell. Probably for sure came thru from my trauma as a child and how messed up certain things were. It's crazy because I really didn't start becoming an aware person until I started eating real food, even with getting acid reflux from some of the natural stuff.
