i actually think its a fantastic idea and its something that im genuinely thinking of doing myself! Ive got an old doll house that i could add doors on to use as the box XD its a big house so im even thinking of adding a section for books too

however my biggest worry is that i live in a pretty rough area in a pretty rough city (just west of brisbane iykyk) and im not sure if it would go well or even last long enough to make an impact. if anyone else is in a similar area and has set one up, how did it go for you? and if you faced any vandalism how did you manage it?

so i just got my first big girl 3d printer and ive got some noob questions

1. i plan on getting some extras but do i need to get a cfs to print multicolour? or is there a (cheaper) off market/different brand that will still be compatible with the k2 se?

2. regarding the cfs - does it matter what brand of filament i use with it? assuming the spool fits ofc. my local jaycar carries several brands of filament, including creality, and my current printer doesnt care what brand i use

3. are there any add ons i should get for it? so far i only plan on getting a camera

4. is it possible to buy glass or something similar to enclose the printer? like something that slots into the frame? i have a kitten and he’s absolutely stupid enough to fuck around and hurt himself while it’s running and i’d rather not have that happen :(

5. is there anything else i need to know about the machine?

if you don’t know what i’m talking about, think short back and sides and long at the top; basically a mohawk without the pointiness.

i cycle between ponytail, bun and 2 buns (space buns i think?) with either my fringe out or not, but i want to try doing something a bit more fancy and google doesn’t help :(

i’ve got super straight hair and when its down it just hits my shoulders so i’ve got a decent amount to play with just no ideas on what to do

im making the switch from windows so ive been trying out some different OS in virtualbox but it seems like its not compatible with it? aside from the usb boot, is there a different way i can test out bazzite? ideally noob friendly bc i have no idea what im doing

ive had enough of windowsand ive decided to pull the trigger and go to linux. so far im leaning towards mint since it seems like the most noob friendly option, but im wondering if its any good for gaming?

my pc as it stands is a solidly mid tier rig; she plays cp77 well but im mostly a casual gamer (think the og baldurs gates, vtm, dinkum, if im feeling spicy maybe highly modded sims 4). i really dont use it for much else, maybe only really the bookwork for my apprenticeship but thats all online

so i’m basically 12 on top (small boobs, small waist) and 14/16 on the bottom (big hips and thighs) so i struggle to find clothes that fit properly everywhere, especially my waist, but i found some really nice dresses on Cider and i’m wondering how curvy friendly they are?

again MASSIVE noob about all this so please be patient, im genuinely trying to learn :(

i downloaded portmaster tonight and so far ive gone through the little quickstart at the beginning and have made no changes since (except blocking all outgoing connections, but i dont remember if thats in the quickstart).

the screenshot ive included is what im worried about - specifically all the connections to different countries. i think this is normal? my pc is connected to my internet via wifi if that makes a difference. my biggest concern is that brave is connecting through anycast and google isnt telling me if this is something i need to be worried about. anycast seems to show up a lot in general...

basically please help me understand these connections and if they are good or bad! as im typing this im watching the portmaster intro series by safing and also doing my best to google these things

also im located in australia which is why all these foreign connections are freaking me out haha

seriously i hate the community sometimes they love to bitch and moan about the smallest and most minute things it actually drives me fucking insane. like some things they complain about are valid, like the rise in ai being used in the design process, but others are so inane it makes me want to rip my hair out!!!!! anyway none of this is personal i just need to vent, so without further ado my hot takes are

-g1 monster high dolls look weird and kinda ugly and i think g3 looks so much better. like even as a kid i never liked how skinny and oddly bent their bodies are and it lowkey reminds me of a sickly victorian woman dying of consumption

-the dolls were arguing about are for children and these companies don’t care that we don’t like the hair choice, clothes choice, etc

-on the topic of hair, who cares what kind of hair it is??? if it’s poly or nylon or straw it doesn’t (generally) take away from the overall look of the doll. i also don’t think kids and their parents, who theses dolls are primarily targeted at, care about it

-i also despise the lack of second outfits but the market has changed since we were kids. if the kids want more accessories the companies are going to cater to that regardless of what we think

-i like the MINNEE line and i don’t think it takes away that there’s ai in the ads for them. afaik the actual photos on the boxes are real but run through an ai filter??? idk it’s weird but i think they’re cute

-blind boxes are the DEVIL and i hate labubus/pop mart for making them mainstream

-bratz is iconic to us bc we grew up with them, but it’s going to take time before they gain the cultural relevance again, especially since what they’re doing now isn’t as groundbreaking as it was in the 2000s

-we aren’t getting those repros pls stop making 4959293847 posts about it (looking at you bratz sub)
