In an apartment in Chicago can Starlink actually compete with Xfinity for speed and reliability?

I absolutely hate Xfinity, paying $70 a month for gigabit internet when I live in Supportive Living where we have to pay all but $120 a month for our apartment and care (cna and meals) that takes up more then half what I have to spend each month. I also live in an apartment in the city of Chicago.

Really wish my internet was upgraded finally! I was spoiled with symmetrical speeds with my provider at old apartment!

I live in Chicago 60613 and I have not seen anything from Xfinity regarding upgrading our connection speeds to midsplit or symmetrical speeds, what gives Xfinity? Even my building management is sick of using your services so they are looking to find better faster broadband solutions for the needs of our community!

Tool to create a Collection on Steam Games you own that fit custom criteria on ProtonDB(Defaults to Silver+)

Yes, I used Claude to create this but I am not a programmer, I am just a gamer who loves to play games on Linux and wanted a simple tool to scan my library for games on ProtonDB with Silver+ and create a collection. Note: You can choose Bronze, Silver, Gold, etc and also when you use proton-collection --write make sure Steam is fully closed and shutdown. Should work on most linux distros including SteamOS(not tested since I run CachyOS) https://github.com/derekagraham78/protondb-collection

What are the benefits of running Heroic?

I’m curious aside from installing games from other stores is there any advantages to using heroic over just using Steam? Most of my games are on Steam and if Steam is running for my game is it saving any resources? I’m running CachyOS

Does anyone here happen to know if there's a fix for the issue with Microsoft's new controller APIs? Proton 11 or experimental doesn't seem to handle them.

In Stalker 2.0, it's no longer possible to use a controller on Linux. I haven't managed to fix it even by using the gameinput2xinput.dll

The input polling in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 engine on Linux puts the detection of physical buttons into "standby" and only resumes registering them when it receives a continuous signal from the analog stick axes. Damn Microsoft APIs!

Skytech Gaming K1000 Gaming Keyboard: Why does my keyboard lock up when I try hitting any Fn+F Key Combo? Should I replace the keyboard I got with my pc? Aside from not being able to adjust volume etc it works fine

I am considering a SteelSeries Apex 3 Gaming Keyboard with a SteelSeries Rival 3 Series mouse. How well do those work with Linux? I am running a Arch based CachyOS to be exact. I have had a decent amount of years in Linux so I am not new to this process. I think there is a firmware related issue with my current keyboard...

Really hoping iOS version gets more features from desktop

Don’t other browsers have some extensions support? I know they’re stuck to WebKit engine but it would be nice to get more out of the browser

Does Skytech Gaming sell replacement keys for their keyboards?

I love my Skytech Gaming Ghost Camo PC, bought it preowned from Rent A Center, added a new nvme, a ssd, new gpu, and upgraded my ram in it, but it would be awesome to get a replacement for the Left Shift and Left Control key. I enjoy the keyboard, it works great for my needs, and the mouse is quite responsive so im very happy

Looking for a app that uses HRV and other data to help me know when I’m dealing with anxiety and stress

I’m Autistic with ADHD and I have alexithymia(where I have a very hard time understanding and recognizing my emotions) so I’m looking for ways to use my Apple Watch and iPhone to get alerts/notifications when I’m struggling with stress but don’t know it. What is the name of the app, price(one time or monthly/annual), other features? Thanks in advance

Does hyprland run leaner then Plasma with the gaming benefits of Plasma? HDR VRR 180 hz etc?

What kind of performance are people getting? Is the setup improved and made less frustrating? I’m always looking to shave the amount of system resources I’m using

What do you guys think of the new look of Firefox? I have switched and liking it so far

I am really enjoying it, was using Vivaldi but not having the full Ublock Origin was a major let down, plus I kind of like the flow of Firefox with the new Nova look. What do you guys think? I cannot do browsers that don't have the ability to handle DRM as I watch content on my browser and need to be able to play them.

Updated Fastfetch Config

My Config File

Updated my look now includes bars to show usage and I am sharing my config.jsonc file now, logo png is also on github in the repo :D

Really happy with how this looks

I have been tweaking my config and the GPU line was too long for the box and the code wasnt my work to begin with so adjusting the code was giving me a little headache. I am using the Warp Terminal and running Antigravity by Google with my AI Plus account, I took a screenshot of the problem showing the GPU line is too long for the box. I attached the screenshot and the config.jsonc file and asked it to either adjust the GPU Line to fit the box or adjust the box to fit the GPU line. The 2nd photo is the fix made by Antigravity. Everything worked without any copy/pasta and results were fantastic :D

Warp Term vs Wave Term

Between these two, which is better taking in the fact that no money is spent on the AI. If I am not mistaken only Wave Term's AI works without spending money on AI Compute, correct me if i am wrong on that...

It looks like Wave Term has either slowed down development or no longer active in its development. Last app update was April 2026. My biggest complaint is a small one really, no in terminal image protocol support so fastfetch wont display png logo's which is a real nothingburger to be honest :)

Best controller with working back paddles

I’m looking for a wireless controller with working mappable back paddles that will work with steam on Linux. Preferably working out of the box. I’m running CachyOS
