I've been getting a little graft crazy on some astrophytum, copiapoa, and trichos. I have roughly 80 new ones going as of yesterday and plan on doing another 36 tomorrow.
Getting back into the flow, It feels good to be back.
I love these things. Surprisingly jiimz twin has become one of my favorite cultivores that I own.
If I get confused... I'll just look at the cactus. While listening to the music. Of course.
Carved a Steal Your Face and a Dead bolt into one of my cacti as a little tribute to the music that's gotten me through a lot and help me have a little fun along the way
I'm grateful for cacti, grateful for the music, and grateful for this community.
I Would love to see if anyone else has mixed their love of the Dead with gardening, art, or other creative unique projects
Looking to downsize a bit and could use some extra funds. Would anyone be interested in any Astrophytum grafted on pereskiopsis? 20$ shipped. I could do bare root or potted. Tomorrow I could get better pictures if interested and want better pictures to finalize a deal. 🙏
It's crazy how much these started to stretch and thicken up once I started letting them breathe a bit more.
After I took a social media hiatus. It's crazy how people are assuming wire wrapped jewelry is AI, I get it though. After deleting my social media a while back the only reason why I regret it is because I had stuff posted from before AI existed and people couldn't claim it to be AI.
On a second note anyone else go through phases where you step away from a hobby, then come back even more inspired?
What is your favorite mammillaria? And why?
Out of all my seedlings the mammillaria armillata are looking the best.
These fruits taste pretty good but I don't think I am going to eat anymore. I need to clean up a few fruits and see how many seeds I have. 10 fruits total.
What's better than a bloom?
Multiple blooms.
First time having more than just one flower at a time and it looks like it's going to hang out for another night.
I've always liked being a night owl. I was blessed by my friend's flower last night, I am grateful. Cheers to many more throughout the years.
Probably the worst thing. Maybe having to scrap something is worse but both are pretty bad. How many of you have a plan before you start and how many of you just wing it? This was a free flow piece from a while back. Most of my stuff is free flow and I just wing it. I haven't come up with the design since 2016. I feel like it's more fun that way for me.
I feel like these are the adult version of those Grow Animals/Sea Creatures I used to play with as a kid, I loved them. These things show growth just about as fast as those and when you forget about it for a few days and come back the growth is very noticeable. I am not sure if my love for collecting things I get super into or my love for those grow capsules out ways one or the other but definitely both have helped with the passion. And my love for nature in general. I used to travel around a lot and never could keep plants or animals but now that I am more of a home body I am able to get after it and care for things more. I move these around daily chasing the sun but I definitely want to get these into the ground in a safe spot all year round. Moving everything multiple times a day is a lot of work. How many others do the same or started off moving them daily and chasing the sun?
The big goal is to get a place where I don't have to move these to the sun in the morning and afternoon everyday. I slack at times but I want to grow these in full sun and be able to keep them outdoors all year.
Over the years I’ve wrapped a lot of pieces, but some of them go way beyond “jewelry.”
I’ve had the honor of working with ashes from a loved one, turning grief into something you can actually hold onto. I’ve created memorial pieces that carry stories words can’t really do justice to. I’ve even wrapped wedding rings in ways that mark not just a moment, but a whole chapter of someone’s life.
Those are the kinds of pieces that slow you down while you’re working on them. You’re not just shaping metal—you’re holding space for memory, love, loss, and everything in between.
It always makes me curious though… every artist and collector ends up with their own set of meaningful stories.
What’s the most meaningful piece you’ve ever made for yourself, or been trusted to create
