Is AC stock lighter for VR compared to AC+CSP+SOL? (Laptop 3060)

I just got into VR and my setup can handle AMS2 in VR but with super low settings. It looks meh but drives fine and stable for me to enjoy racing. You stop noticing graphics after a while anyway. But I miss the variety of tracks and road cars that AC has to offer and I am thinking is it worth going down the AC rabbit hole again with CSP, mods, endless tweaks.

Or maybe just run stock AC for VR to enjoy the driving. What is your experience with something similar to my setup? (i7, 64GB DDR4 Ram, RTX 3060 6GB)

VR using Quest 3 + wired USB in Virtual Desktop (in case you didn't know VD now supports USB which is awesome for sims)

Too many Zombies, we need more Robots ala Terminator/Generation Zero

Never been into zombies like ever, but so many good games are based on either zombies or some twisted creatures. I wish we had more Terminator style games. Into the Radius (I hear it's a good game but somehow I don't feel interested might give it a shot) but you are part of the dying human resistance. I think the closest we have is Generation Zero but that's a flat screen game.

EDIT: "a la" not "ala"

I want to fight against killer machines. Rip out their parts for salvage, make a drone of my own to accompany me on missions. Hack, shoot, slash bipedels, armored autonomous bots, drone types. The possibilities are much wider if you drop zombies and anomalies.

Is couchmoney bugged? Need recommendations in Stremio

I am self hosting AIOstreams and AIOMetata. Signed up for mdblists (for getting gary's lists) But I also want my personal recommendations. I had trakt so read about couchmoney and signed in. It's been quite some time but couchmoney has not generated or synced anything.

Is there a better way to integrate recommendations based on watch history in stremio?

Is combat in Arkham Shadow just QTEs? How did you feel about the hand-to-hand combat?

Trying to see if it is worth the price tag (don't see that game going on sale ever) or maybe I should buy multiple cheaper games. Everything looks nice but I saw in review that combat is not exactly actually hand tracked combat like in other games (Asgard's Wrath 2, or any conventional VR combat game actually). That feels strange to me but then again everyone praises that game so much.

Any way to order taxonomy filter for loop grid?

Elementor Pro on WP. I'm using the loop grid to create a simple gallery because the gallery widget doesn't do pagination. But I have run into another problem. The taxonomy filter widget has my categories listed in order of creation. Loop grid can be sorted by title but that has no effect on the filter bar.

Whereas the gallery (which I'm avoiding due to lack of pagination) has a bar without that issue.....

Am I missing something or are both widgets just lacking basic features?

Edit: Fixed for now by using a custom taxonomy order plaugin to sort all categories in alphabetical order.

Phone can play some streams but TV struggles to play most of the stuff

Using latest builds on my Android TV and Samsung S23. Both on wifi. S23 will fail about half of the sources (switching error loop) but TV won't even play sources which the phone can. TV is using Homatics 4K. Internet is 500mbps. Router is pretty close in same room. And source is 1080p

So I'm just baffled. I have plenty of diverse sources to rule out issues with my add ons.

Many debates about AC but where are the ventilators?

People resisting ACs make good points. Huge investment, high running cost for making few hot days of the year manageble. But at the same time those few days are increasing in number and temperatures rising. So that debate aside, what I don't understand is why public places, shops, restaurants don't have fans? They are cheap. Cheap to run compared to AC. Does help in many situations.

What shocked me was that my child's school didn't have even a single fan in the class. I get a sense it's not really a cost/energy/environment debate but something else entirely

Ever visited a hot third world country? Not everyone can afford an AC but a fan would be a minimum. Ceiling fans have been around for decades. They are not as noisy, efficient and make a huge difference to make a room comfortable.

But all you get in most places are plastic toys with barely decent blade spans and a teeny tiny motor.

What to Buy: VFM or Dawn of Jets?

I have some left over Meta cash and definitely looking for a good flight game. But I can't decide between the two wanted to hear about recent experiences since a lot of YouTube reviews are old. What do you look about each game and how's the sense of immersion and flight?

I can live without multiplayer as long as it's fun. VTOL seems to me bit too difficult in terms of learning curve. Is it like DCS? And is VFM good in comparison?

Just looking for thoughts and ideas.

Trying to get back to Elite but cannot connect to servers (Epic)

I installed ED after years and as always logged in through Epic. But on main menu it says I connect to servers. I have double checked network settings. Using ethernet. Even though I use Tailscale but I have it turned off and made sure ED is not using that in settings. But I just cannot play at all. Windows 11. Used to play on this same machine but now I am just lost.

I underestimated the difference in experience with a 3rd party headset

I love my new Q3 but holy crap the default strap is so uncomfortable I'm beginning to think it was bad design on purpose. For a device with so much amazing tech and R&D, hard to believe they couldn't design a better strap. I couldn't play for more than 30 minutes. Constantly trying to adjust it and just frustrated with the headset constantly shifting breaking immersion. Could never have the sweet spot stay in one place. I was underwhelmed with the lack of clarity. After seeing so many reviews I decided to get a headstrap. So many options but I didn't want to spend a lot and regret it. I ended up getting a Kiwi design K4 comfort strap. It was the cheapest strap from a known brand I could find.

And wow it completely changed everything. It stays secure on my face. Even without any battery or added weight the headset rests better and best of all everything is super clear now that lens can stay right in front of my eyes. Even with pcvr (steamvr using usb c ethernet adapter) I'm getting really clear visuals (just bought VD so I can push beyond the 350 bitrate limit on steamvr).

So if you are still on the fence. Don't overthink it. Even a basic 3rd party strap without batteries or fans is a huge upgrade.

PCVR Quest Users. Wired Ethernet, Link Cable or Wireless?

Since I cannot create a poll, just trying to see what other people are using. Recently got a Quest 3 and deciding on which method to use. In most places, I see a LOT of people hating on link cables and Meta software but it looks like a lot of sim racers in VR are fine with it. What is your experience with PCVR? (Steam Link/Meta/ALVR/VD) + (Ethernet/Link Cable/WiFi).?

EDIT: Way more Puppis S1 users than I expected.

Anyone tried this kind of ethernet cable for wired PCVR?

I recently got a Quest 3 and exploring my options for PCVR mostly for sim racing. Don't have the money to buy a wifi6e router (my building is filled with too many 5ghz networks so getting a wifi6 router might not be worth it). So I found a decent USB C ethernet adapter which works fine for Quest 3. I saw these ethernet patch cables which seem light and flexible so I wanted to ask if anyone has tried these types of cables?

I use Steam Link right now. Avoiding link cable because I keep hearing how unreliable the whole system is. I can easily get ethernet on my Quest 3 by turning off wifi. Will get a 6e router after few months probably for Virtual Desktop.

Any way to force close app?

Sometimes the Browser refuses to work properly or won't open at all. Then I came across a weird glitch in the Instagram app. The only fix right now that works for me especially for the browser is to restart the headset. I can't find any Force Close option or some kind of task manager. Normal close button still keeps some apps running in background (like Instagram). Any ideas or work around besides restarting the device?

Help needed noob here

Just kidding. Just a random post as a thank you to all members of this community. Seriously. From learning about debrid then all the stuff to get things running. I mostly lurk here looking up guides and tips. Today transitioned to TB with AIO template and everything is running smoothly. So thank you.

Discovered randomly that you can tap on battery status in mobile app to see the actual battery levels.

New user. Guess there might be others like me.

I just got a Q3 and completely blown away. However I don't think I'm able to get the best experience for 3d movies like the reviews I have read. I had an old bluray lying around (Ready Player One) which I ripped into iso and played in 4xvr (trial version) for few minutes through an smb share. From what I read using iso directly was the best way. But no matter what I do, 3d movies feel bit (doubled) as if not using correct ipd

I have tried messing with ipd slider. No effect as least to me

I also managed to rip and convert the movie to SBS, then OU and then what's known as sequential 3d where you have one full frame with double framerate so it is constantly switching between two eyes

I also tried Bigscreenvr. Same issue in public rooms showing 3d movies. Same with YouTube 3d movies

Games and everything else looks incredible. But not movies. Am I missing something?
