Microsoft will turn memory integrity on by default on more Windows 11 PCs from October 13, and it can slow games.

# What is Memory Integrity?

It is a core isolation feature in Windows Security.

It uses Virtualization-based Security (VBS) to protect the Windows kernel from malicious or untrusted code.

It stops rootkits and driver tampering.

Guess the price of my laptop.

I bought this laptop when RAM prices were at their peak, and one drawback I didn't get was HP Care.

Does CGPA actually matter in job recruitment, or is it just skills?

I always have a doubt about whether CGPA matters in job recruitment or anywhere else, because in today's world, skills seem to matter more. But I still have this doubt because many people I've asked about this, including working professionals, just say that CGPA isn't everything, but it is a key step to getting that first entry into interviews.

What do you all think about this?

I have a concept to engage people; I don't know if this works or not.

I have some real stories shared by friends or that happened to them in their surroundings, which include some private conversations. We don't want to cross privacy boundaries, so we won't use the original names of people or colleges involved.

Content is just for awareness.

Can anyone suggest a savings bank account?

I am thinking of opening an account with SBI or Kotak Bank. I am a student and I want a zero balance account. Can anyone suggest one?

PSA for iPhone users in the EU: your phone isn't disposable anymore (by law)

\# EU passed rules making phones tougher to kill off early. Big ones:

5 years of software updates, guaranteed, counted from when Apple discontinues the model (not your purchase date) — so an iPhone bought today could get iOS updates into the early 2030s

7 years of spare parts guaranteed — batteries, screens, charging ports, all have to stay available after Apple stops selling that model

From Feb 2027, new iPhones will need a user-replaceable battery. No more heat guns and adhesive teardowns just to swap a dying battery. Energy label + repair score sticker on the box now, so you can actually compare durability/reparability before buying, instead of trusting Apple's spec sheet.

Catch: only applies if you bought (or buy) after June 2025 in the EU. Older iPhones are stuck on the old rules, and Apple might try to dodge the 2027 battery mandate via a "durable design" exemption.

Basically: Apple's whole "battery dies, buy a new phone" business model just got a lot harder to run in Europe.

eu finally cracking down on phones dying right after warranty ends

Already law (since June 2025):

- Phones have to survive drops, water, and dust better.

- Battery has to hold 80% capacity after 800 charge cycles.

- Energy label and repair score sticker on the box; scan the QR to compare before buying.

- 5 years of software updates guaranteed, counted from when the model gets discontinued, not from purchase.

- 7 years of spare parts guaranteed (battery, screen, ports), shipped to repairers within 5–10 days.

Coming February 2027: batteries have to be user-replaceable, no special tools pop the back off yourself, no repair shop needed.

Example: buy an iPhone in the EU today.

Apple has to keep selling you replacement batteries, screens, and other core parts for 7 years after they stop selling that iPhone model not 7 years from your purchase date.

You're also guaranteed 5 years of iOS security updates from that same discontinuation date, so an iPhone could realistically stay supported into the 2030s.

From Feb 2027, new iPhones sold in the EU will also need a user-replaceable battery no more heat-gun-and-adhesive teardown just to swap a battery.

TL;DR: Buy in the EU, your phone stops being disposable. Old phones (pre-June 2025) aren't covered, though.

Anyone else got baited by a "special trailer" that was actually just a TVS bike ad?

So I'm at the theatre today and there's this pre-movie slot that goes "DOOM IS WICKED" and I swear my brain immediately went "OH SHIT, Avengers: Doomsday footage?!"

Sat up straight, phone away, fully locked in.

Nope. It's a TVS Motor ad.

Turns out TVS has some kind of collab with DOOM (yeah, the video game) and slapped "Doom is wicked" on a bike commercial. No Doctor Doom, no Marvel, nothing. Just a motorcycle.

Not mad that TVS is doing a gaming collab, that's kind of a fun idea honestly. But the phrasing felt designed to make people in the hall think Avengers Doomsday content was about to drop, especially with how much hype there is around that movie right now.

Felt like a total bait and switch for two seconds of extra attention.

Anyone else in India get faked out by this in the theatre? Or is it just me overhyping myself before every trailer block now 😭

Sony wants to abandon fans? Let's give them a taste of their own medicine — #PSBlackout, August 23-30

I found this thing on X, that's why I posted it on Reddit to see how people actually react to it. What are you thinking?

Credit: @DoesItPlay1

For several years now, Sony Interactive Entertainment has continued to grow further apart from its fan base. Whether it's closing beloved studios like Bluepoint, pursuing a misguided live-service strategy, canceling fan events, leaving PS VR2 to die, or seeming out of touch with the franchises players actually want back, PlayStation has never felt more disconnected from its community.

Ending physical discs in 2028 feels like the last straw. We understand there's only so much SIE can control, but with the decisions that are within its control, the company keeps mismanaging the strong position it inherited from the PS4 era.

There are so many issues with PlayStation right now that bringing back physical games would only be meeting players halfway. We miss Twisted Metal, SOCOM, Sly Cooper, and Resistance. We miss PlayStation Experience. We miss Japan Studio.

Together with other creators, we're calling for a one-week #PSBlackout in August:

No logins

No play sessions

No purchases on any Sony platform

When: Sunday, August 23 at 7:00 PM (local time) → Sunday, August 30 at 7:00 PM (local time)

Participating is simple — turn off your console or just log out for seven days. This window is short enough to keep the impact on publishers and developers minimal, while still giving players a real voice.

Second trailer of Avengers Doomsday

The "second trailer" was actually exclusive Hall H footage that Kevin Feige surprised San Diego Comic-Con attendees with — shown only inside the convention center (Variety). Whether it gets an official online release is still unclear. There are also unverified descriptions circulating (Discord/social media) claiming to detail its contents, but treat those as rumor until Marvel confirms.
