Hi, I am an incoming international PhD student at NUS. How is the queer scene in Singapore, what kinds of events that take place which I as international student can join (I got to know that I cannot join main pride event of the year).
Hi, I am an incoming international PhD student. I would like to join queer clubs/groups at NUS. I didn’t find this info online. How is the queer scene at NUS, what kinds of events that take place and can I as international student, join (I got to know that I cannot join main pride event of the year). Any info on the matter broadly in Singapore, outside NUS is also appreciated.
Hi everyone! I grew up in a north indian vegetarian family. In college, I started eating non-veg. First it was eggs, then KFC boneless and today I can eat most dishes but I always order or dine in at a restaurant, which gets expensive. These dishes are except for certain salads are loaded with shit tone of carbs and fats.
I have become accustomed to eating non-veg and want to include more of it in my diet. I am asking resident non-vegetarians to point me to things such as knowing what to buy, where to buy from, how to tell if chicken has gone bad, how to store it and for how long. What are common dishes that are cookable at home which retain most of the benefits (In most places on the internet, its almost always a chicken curry; if you have better resources let me know). I am not looking for restaurant dishes but the ones you grew up eating at home. Any other tips on how to reduce waste, how to chop and any other seemingly trivial details are welcome.
Hi! I am trans 24F, pre-everything looking to buy makeup for the first time. I am extremely masculine presenting and I have tried going into a makeup store, but I just couldn't because I felt I will be judged too much. On top of that I dont really know what to buy, what brands to buy on a budget (not too cheap but not looking for something very luxurious), and how can I make this easy for myself. I do not want to buy online because shade match etc etc and there aren't really any girlies in my life who I am out to.
I am so fed up with this. Considering the amount of couple profiles, I mentioned on my Feeld profile that people looking for a third should not like my profile and I am not interested etc etc.
I matched with this one person and their profile had mentioned that they are partnered, I do not have problem in having relationships with people who partnered, given everybody knows.
I found them interesting and after a while, I threw in the “what are you looking for” question and they said something to the effect of “we will chill and see where it goes”. I explain that I am a bit wary cause their profile mentions a partner and then woosh, disappeared.
Its almost as if these couples see bisexuals as kink dispensers and nothing more. You decline and then they get upset. This is my second time interacting with a “closet looking-for-a-third” profile and it just weird.
This costed close to 250 rs and found everything offline. What should I be upgrading first?
Hi, I am looking to buy a second hand kobo. New ones are pretty expensive for me. Let me know if you have any contacts or you can provide one.
My first few therapy sessions looked like this
Hello! I am a machine learning researcher. Few months ago, I had the opportunity to work on a project where I learned about Hamiltonian in context of Hamiltonian Monte Carlo. I really liked it and often I hear that physics students are very good at modelling systems. I can definitely see why. I did my undergrad in electrical engineering and at that time I couldn't really appreciate how physics gave us the models over which we can engineer so many things.
How I see physicists is they model different physical phenomenon using tools from mathematics. My question is somewhat vague, but I am looking for books and resources on developing this kind of ability. I also looked into a applied maths subreddit but its dead.
Any help is appreciated!
I am a man, raised by a functionally single mother, who I now recognize was depressed and abusive towards me and my siblings. As a kid I tried to bother her as little as possible, used to take beatings without crying, without uttering a word and as an adolescent, I used to make so much efforts to help her out emotionally and otherwise. Listen to her problems and also provide her support to end her relationship with my VERY abusive father, which she never did btw. Meanwhile, she always made a point of despising EVERYTHING my father did in front of us. At 16, I used to think how am I such a "natural" feminist and how I was better than other boys.
This pattern showed up in 2 of the 3 women I had strong feelings towards. These two clearly had their issues but I always deemed them perfect and "the one" for me, kept making excuses for their behaviors to my friends. I was addicted to the moments where I (often falsely) believed that I made a difference in their thinking.
It took me a long time to recognize this pattern and to get out of these relationships. I am 24 now and last year I met this woman who I didn't wanna "save", who was not frying my mind while I was spending time with her. It did not work out in the end but she gave me a sort of hope for the future where I can survive without being a fixer.
(I think?)I am in a better place after going through this hard emotional work of recognising the abuse perpetuated by my mother. I still consider myself a feminist but I feel conflicted about feeling this anger towards my mother who was also suffering. Meanwhile the hatred she pumped into me about my father, I direct towards every part of me that reminds me of him, including physical appearance.
I started therapy now and I hope it works out for me.

Criticism is welcome. I am looking to improve.
Title. I know basic programming quite well. In university, courses also introduced me to threads and cores but never actually asked us to build something. I am looking to learn parallel programming, bonus points if in python. I am not interested in books as much. I would be fine learning with learning about 80% of the use cases and how to make my cpu programs go brrrrrr
