Microscopic puncture hole in new milk jug.

Hi we are not going to drink this but I'm wondering how common this is or how concerned I should be.

We brought home a jug of new chocolate milk that was leaking from an invisible hole. We discarded it but we also have white milk from the same brand. It doesn't seem affected but now I'm wondering how to navigate making sure it isn't. We have kids and this chocolate milk was for them so this was alarming. Of course I see horror stories about this but mainly just want to make sure this isn't bad issue with the other groceries that might have gotten wet.

Thank you.

Weird happenings with my coke can

Hi... 👋 I kept noticing what looked like a printing glitch (see photo) on each can which would be fine but I also noticed some droplets of clear liquid today gathered in the grooves of the inner rim of the can. We've had this box of cans for at least two weeks in the pantry and I've drank half of them. I don't see how factory rinse water wouldn't have dried by now if it's that.

Now I'm a bit worried and wondering if the "printer glitch" was actually a micro leak or something. Also wondering how unsafe this might be. I would have kept drinking there if I didn't stop to wonder why there was liquid on the top of the can. Thanks.

Major store brand bread smells of acetone

Hi we have been eating Pepperidge Farm bread for years. Today we noticed a strong "fruity" or perhaps chemical kind of smell emitting from the bag. Less so on the slices. I don't recall noticing anything like this in previous loaves.

Our 12 year old son ate a slice before we noticed the smell😑

I'm worried if this was contaminated. He has food allergies and this has been our safe brand. I'm afraid to keep buying it now but bread is essential in our house.

Thanks.

Reduced hours randomly

Hi I was wondering what reasons CFA would have to announce on a Saturday that they will be closed for breakfast on Monday? Our location does this all the time and we've never seen it like this anywhere else. It's always on the day we were heading out on a trip and wanted to grab breakfast. 🤣

Does anyone else feel this way?

I don't even know if anxiety is the right category but I feel very paranoid all the time. Worried and paranoid. Terrible combo. I will take a small situation and amplify it. Then I will think of every possible bad thing that could happen.

For example, I'm skittish about germs and we got a package of toilet paper that we didn't notice was loose and partially open at the top. My mind panicked that it was tampered with and someone messed with it. I couldn't get out of that loop for a long time.

I'm finally out of it but my mind will do this frequently. Something that would not be that big of a deal to anyone else is paralyzing to me and takes time to overcome.

Is that relatable?

Rational anxiety

Does anyone know where the line is supposed to be drawn between abnormal anxiety and the anxiety they pump into us in the media?

I believe everything I read and people around me don't. It's exhausting. My husband is very low anxiety and it makes everything so hard. I want to be like everyone else but technically I can say that my anxiety is valid if the media is causing alarm. But I'm still the weirdo for being anxious.

Does anyone relate?

Tiny suspended clusters of bubbles in urine

Hi we noticed our son (12M) has patches of clustered tiny bubbles in his urine that linger in the bowl until they are flushed. They seem to go away after flushing but they don't seem to go away until/unless flushed. My husband has been downplaying this but I'm very concerned. He's so young but can't imagine what else this could be if not foam. We are in North America. No other symptoms that we are aware of. It could have been going on for a while since I assumed this was normal for boys when they pee standing up and it usually gets flushed before I see it but I didn't know until looking it up that it's bad when they don't go away.

Thank you

What are these spots?

Harzt delectable spoons. Not expired until 2027. It doesn't seem like it affected the food itself. It was almost like embedded in the plastic. Does anyone know what it is or have seen this? Thank you.

Cherry red flat specks all over arms. Both me and my son have them.

Hi I'm 42F and my son is 13M. I recently noticed on both my skin and his that we have these blanching flat red specks scattered all over our arms. They are as small as a piece of glitter. They are not clustered together. They are spaced out.

Some say it's normal with aging but my son is young. They seem to blanch when pressed. We are not worried cosmetically because they don't stand out at all. I just worry about what they even could be at his age. I keep seeing cherry angiomas as the most common name for this but those don't happen to kids without a serious disorder apparently. I'm worried.

I can't say how long I've had this. I wouldn't be surprised if it was for a long time because it's very subtle in most lighting.

Any thoughts? Thank you!

Target wipes recall

Hi I got an email today that baby wipes we purchased were part of the recall. I'm very dismayed because we used a bunch of them a month or so ago. We also looked and saw that our UPC didn't match. This was a relief at the time and now I'm worried again.

Is Target quietly admitting that every batch of these wipes are contaminated? Why list a specific UPC code if it really means that wipes without that code are at risk? This is dangerous because I know for a fact that people are still using the ones that don't match the batch codes.

Thank you.

What sunscreens are safe and accessible?

Hi I'm looking for good affordable sunscreen recommendations for a child with peanut and tree nut allergies. We have been using Blue Lizard but it's really hard to blend in his skin and hard to wash off our hands. It's also on the pricier side. We used to use Think Baby but they had an issue with lead apparently. It disappeared from the shelves for a while. Did they address the issue? Also, I'm worried to start using that again if they changed the formula.

We've been avoiding spray sunscreen because of that benzene recall. Are we to assume that those are safe now? It's so much easier to spray it on than to rub in especially when we are out somewhere and can't wash it off our hands.

I grew up when coppertone was all there was 🤣🤣😅

Thanks.

Can this condition be mild?

Hi my son is 12 and has had a rash that seems to match PR mainly because he has a very distinct mark that looks exactly like a herald patch on his upper back and a crop of small oval spots around both flanks. Nothing else on his back or middle abdomen at all. It hasn't progressed at all in a week. I know this condition can ramp up weeks later but is there such a thing as a very mild case of this? Thanks.

Full body lotion [Product request]

Hi our son has sensitive skin, eczema, and allergies. We've been using vanicream (the tub variety) and he keeps complaining of the smell. We want to try something else. Does anyone know what is close to the same type of option as vanicream at department stores? Thank you!

Feeling discouraged (PFAS)

I feel like I'm naturally drawn to the wrong things. We usually try to get more "crunchy" things but we were forced to get some charmin toilet paper at a general store for a camping trip. We found out halfway through using the package that this variety tested positive for forever chemicals. We try to buy organic but polished off several containers of Driscolls berries last summer, etc etc etc.

How do you navigate this when basically nothing is safe anymore? Thanks.

Discoid eczema?

Hi our son is 12 year old. He had eczema as a baby that resolved by toddler age. He also has KP on his arms. Other than that his skin has always been only mildly sensitive sometimes. He has a food allergy so we are more alert about his skin than most families and we noticed a bump on his arm Friday night. We thought it was maybe a bug bite. My husband checked his torso that night and said he saw nothing else. The next day he developed little oval shaped bumps around his ribs and towards his armpit. Quite a few of them. We also noticed a coin shaped patch on his upper back. That looked nothing like the ones on his belly.

It's spring but not yet warm where we live. Could this be discoid eczema? Some sources talk about a condition called pitysaris rosea (sp). I don't think it's ringworm.

Can discoid eczema have one larger patch and a smattering of smaller spots? According to my husband none of this on his torso was there friday night when we saw the bump on his arm. Thank you.

PR for no reason?

Hi our son seems to have PR with a herald patch and everything. We noticed it last night. He feels perfectly fine. We came back from a vacation on 5/1 but none of us got sick at all. He had no idea about it since it's not itchy. I'm reassured to know it's harmless but I don't like not knowing what caused it. He's 12 years old. Thank you

Skunk smell every single night

Hi I have been smelling skunk every single night for a few nights at least. We noticed a hole in our yard that my husband said he saw a groundhog come out of a week or so ago. I'm concerned that they are denning in there and don't know what to do. Any advice?

Brown dots inside avocado (the flesh)

Hi I was wondering if it's safe to eat an avocado with dots all around the inside. My husband says it's safe but just want to be sure since we have kiddos. It was kept in the basement for 5 days so it sounds like it could be simply from cold storage. I hate not being able to tell if it's mold since this spotted appearance does sound like it can be normal and safe but wanted some extra encouragement. Thanks!! 👍

Hi we adopted our 6 year old cat in 2020. She has been strictly indoors and has never stepped foot outside. She apparently tested negative for everything they test for at the shelter. We came back from a long vacation and she's showing the signs mentioned in the title. Someone came by to check her bowls and litter regularly but they aren't there long enough to notice her sneezing (if it was even happening at that point) This person works from home, doesn't have pets, and wasn't sick. I don't understand coming home to this. It's sad because all we want to do is snuggle her. We know to take her in if it gets worse but I just hate not being able to explain why this is happening. Any experience with this? Thank you.
