Alliance Starship Sketches
Well, technically only one of them is an Alliance Vessel. 1: Flagship Endymion; 2: Formar Imperial Advanced Battlecruiser Westfalia; These came about after I started my journey into the franchise. While I don't know how I can watch it in my country( Germany) I at least have an inkling knowledge thanks to Die Neue These.

Can waste heat be used for anything other then to vent it?
Ok, so I have had this idea. If heat is a constant issue in realistic sci-fi spacecraft and it needs to be given off by radiators or Heatsinks, can it be repurposed?
To charge a vessels auxiliary batteries using thermal power for example( especially with purely electricity-powered Ion Drives).
That way a whole lot less of heat would be wasted and it could be more effectively used.
These are some imperial Ships from the Wizards and Warriors video on the Imperial Navy, what do we think?
I don't know wether this is the right sub to post this in, but I feel as though it is the most appropriate one. 1. Grand Cruiser 2. Standard Cruiser 3. Battlecruiser
/uj Am I the only one who feels as though this sub is the only one where star wars can be discussed normally?
That's it. That's the post.
Star Wars What If dudes have hit a new level of stupid
Like, I know they are extreme but this is just absurd...
Lore Operation Limits for Automated Infantry
Hi,
I'm very new to the hobby and am not really into Tabletop( although I own some Mk 2 Automated Infantry) but more into Lore and Story/ Worldbuilding.
Therefore I have a question concerning the capabilities of the Automated Infantry. I know that in some background texts in the "Festung Europa" sourcebook the capacity of the Mk 1's are described in some regard( namely Bertie) but beyond that mostly the capabilities of the AI's are shown and how they've developed but I'm more interested what kind of movements the Infantry can actually do.
Are they like Terminators? Can they jump and how far( rocket boosters and/or anti-grav tech excluded)? Can they go underwater? Or better yet, can they talk?
These are the questions I'd like to have answered and would be very glad if there were some kind people who can help me out.
Thank you very much!
Artificial Gravity
So, I've had a thinking session on Artificial Gravity. The realistic merhod is centrifugal force but what would happen if 2 centrifuges turned in the opposite directions respectively.
As in, one turning clockwise and another turning counter-clockwise.
What would theoretically happen if I wanted to include such a method when writing?
I've been thinking about Grav Decks and Artificial Gravity and nothing makes sense.
So, because I designed some WarShips I wanted to learn about Artificial Gravity and Grav-Decks in BT and I am a bit confused.
sarna.net mentions that GD's work by Centrifugal force so...? Easy answer? Not quite. As in lore there is also mentioned that if in Operations a vessel relies on its own propulsion( thus linear accelaration designed Artificial Gravity). But this would mean that larger vessels would need to be constructed in a Rocket-like design( thus gravitational pull in the opposite direction of thrust). But nowhere in Lore I found a vessel that functions this way( barring spheroid Dropshios). But then again Grav Decks don't really make sense to be mounted on vessels designed to work in such a way.
Lets take the Concordat-class Frigate for example, it has 2 Grav Decks visible from the outside, but theoretically Diameter shouldn't really matter, instead length would be the relevant metric for effective creation of Artificial Gravity( take for example the Nauvoo from the Expanse).
So how would Artificial Gravity in BT theoretically work? By Mass, Magnetism or Frame Dragging( look it up, it's pretty complicated).
But I want to hear from the people on this subreddit as there might be a lot of people who know some obscure lore I don't.
Anyway, have a nice day/ evening whereever you are.
Songs in your language/country that would work perfectly with Sabaton?
For me it's got to be this song about the battle of Leipzig during the Napoleonic Wars.
What do we think about this fanmade flag[ by Redlife56 on DeviantArt]
Could it be a good Flag for the Alliance/ Confederacy?
Revised version of my space battle scene. Thoughts?
Now, approximately 1 1/2 weeks ago I posted the first rough draft of a space battle scene on here and got, understandibly, hammered but also got some genuinly good advice which I integrated into the scene( Much thanks to u/TeachingNo4435 for correcting and helping me rework. You're a real one). Now I want to give you the revised version. Hopefully, my sorry german ass did a little better this time😅

"COMBAT SPEED! COMBAT SPEED!"
The warning and alerts blared out of the Titania's Intercom and shocked the relaxed crewmen out of their ease, as the vessel suddenly spun around to try to get into Hammerlock Range of whatever had just forced them to do a 180° turn. The centrifugal force pinned her crewmen against the Rocketship‘s innards as if an invisible anvil laid on their chest. They could only break free as the centrifugal force lessened and the vessel entered a steady state. Magnetic boot-locks bit into the deck and made the men and women find their footing again.
They weren’t even supposed to be in combat operations. They were just on their way back to Ceres Base after completing a several-day long patrol mission. Almost 10 days of monotone scanner-watching and imaginary test encounters. But, as fate would have it, it seemed like they were going to get some excitement at last.
Hydraulics clicked as the LRASM's were loaded into the launcher. In such a small ship every groan of a rivet and every shuddering of the double-layered hull of 7cm-thick Titanium-Alloy plates served as a comedically grim reminder of the cold abysall embrace that waited for them behind these very same armour plates.
But for an LNN Crewmen, a man who was raised on recycled breath from the cradle on, this fear was nothing. If this claustrophobic microcosm had taught them one thing then it would be how to keep composure in situations in which the ordinary terran human would’ve already succumbed to madness.
(The Vessel they were on was a Procellum-class Armed Rocketship; almost 100 meters long and packed full with the newest bells and whistles. Arguably the most powerful vessel in the entire Solar System, a true Apex Predator. Theirs was the third of her class and launched in very tumultuous times. It was the intense phase of the solar war which had already been brewing since 2016. Now was 2023 and the war was in full swing. For new crewmen this war was the trial by fire. But one they were all too eager to complete.)
Cassiopeia Markov climbed up the ladder towards the gunnery deck. Her taller and thinner silhuette nearly slithered through the ladder shaft while the centrifugal Pull turned her blood to lead and and tried to drag her downwards. The Titania must've had at least 3 to 4 G's of propulsion force at that moment when she made the hard turn. If their vessel had executed this sharp of a turn, then it must have scented an enemy interloper, and, if they were lucky, an American one at that. But, that was simply the only possibility.
They must've missed the Memo. Cass thought with a smidge of excitement and an adrenaline-infused metallic tang sharp on her tongue. She had finally, under strain, reached the hatch towards the gunnery deck, opened it and took her station on the left side of the room.
,,Ensign Markov reporting at station 2.", She clipped into the chill of her comm-unit as she tightened the harness ever and ever thighter until her flight suit began to groan. Though she wasn’t sure wether the flight suit or the harness had groaned.
Slowly the Monitors at her stations awakened with cascading light, showing the HAR/PE systems combat readiness
Without clear sensor bearings it was nigh impossible to hit a target with their lasers. Blindly firing would nought but useless needles of light the vastness of space around and beyound their adversary.
"ARROW 1 AWAY!", the kick of the departing missile reverberatet in her chest as the Missile Officer called out.
If firing was already possible then there needed to be some kind of sensor bearings for the enemy spacecraft. So why hadn’t they been transfered to her yet?
"Sensor station, I need bearings to fire. Position of the Bandit?" she inquired with pressure. The radio crackled shortly but then came the answer.
"Markov, you have the target 1.900 km out starbord side 51° lateral elevation."
"Repeat, Target 1.900km out starboard at 51° lateral elevation. Confirm?"
"Position confirmed. Laser targeter tracking. Transfering to your station."
"Received. Firing now."
The three starboard mounted electrolaser turrets followed the infrared targeting laser until the targeter confirmed contact with the enemy spacecraft. With a light blue hue, the lasers cut through the darkness of space and reached for the American Attack Shuttle.
"Beam 1, negative. No hit.", Markov confirmed, "Beam 2, negative. Hit but no penetration.", this was annoying but the third one did not disappoint, "Beam 3, positive. Hit and penetration. Damage Assessment Comm?"
The radio crackled silently anew as the Comm again answered.
"Damage Assessment shows engine damage. Portside rocket-booster out of operation. Vessel is trailing of course. New bearings at portside 1.400km 60,3° degrees of lateral elevation, changing fast. Prepare for another firing."
"I repeat, portside 1.400km out at 60,3° lateral elevation." she waited for a second as the targeting telemetry came in,"Telemetry accqiring and firing."
The Electrolasers again charged up and cut through the void again.
"Beam 1, positive. Hit and penetration. Beam 2, negative. Hit but no penetration. Beams 3 and 4, positive. Hits and penetration. Damage report?" she once again asked.
"Target incapacitated. Missiles launching for target destruction. Transmitting to screen."
And exactly there on the screen she watched in glee as the LRASM detonated. Fire was only briefly visible as the remainder of the enemy shuttles propellant and oxygen burned out. The fire was gone almost as fast as it had appeared and only left the shattered pieces of the enemy craft hurdling towards the Titania.
"Switch Lasers to interception mode. Target medium sized fragments. Transmitting target telemetry."
"Received. Changing to pulsed fire. Opening up in rapid succession on medium fragments. 16 target accquired. Opening fire." she answered again.
The Lasers came to life again and, with rapid pulses, in steady rythms which were not unlike those of the reactor, the lasers activated, and turned the oncoming shrapnel into small, innocuous clouds of mist and dust.
"Interception successful." Her report rang out in the sudden and heavy silence.
"All clear here." The missile officer on the other side of the room concurred as he wiped the sweat off of his forehead.
As his report came in, the apparent tenseness of the situation was blown away and turned into silent relief. A sentiment quickly echoing from the Intercom.
"Well done people. Set course for home base. I’m sure they’ll want to hear of our encounter." Rasped the deep voice of Captain Mikhail Tierny, a veteran of the LNN for 10 years. And these ten years of service had etched furrows into his face, furrows as deep as the craters of Luna itself.
While it was people like him who held up morale among the troops it was the Lunarian spirit of exceptionalism that drove her daughters and sons into the endless night. And by the Moon Goddess herself, in the end victory would taste of iron and triumph.
Some more Naboo Capital Ships, Sketch by me
Now, a few months ago I posted my reinterpretation of a Gungan Cruiser as a Naboo Royal Defense force Cruiser and since then I've updated the fleet by quite a few ships. The Picket Sloop and the Missile frigate are both based on Naboo ship designs from Galactic Battlegrounds while the Destroyer is an Original design and the War Cruiser M2 is an enlarged version of my previous War Cruiser. Hope you like them.
