Is Atrial Rubicite always in stock @Jester or is it a season/drop thing?

Very new to craft beer, heard this one was good, and like raspberries.

Was hoping to pick some up to bring to a Memorial Day cookout. Is it always in stock at jester to where I can pick it up today or is it a season drop thing that’s harder to get?

Rounding vs Improperly reporting accuracy

Say I am validating a caliper with a 0.05” resolution by comparing it with a gage block that’s actual value is 6.001”. With the caliper, I measured 6.1”.

When doing an error calculation Abs(Block-Measured), would I report the error and pass/fail based on an error of 0.1” or 0.099”? On one hand, the .099” ignores the accuracy of the gage block, but on the other, the 0.099” implies accuracy to the caliper that does not exist.

Any advice?

(Note: this isn’t an actual procedure I’m just trying to find out how to correctly report error with different resolutions)

The hate for this show is still very much alive 😭

Some like farming account on Twitter made a post about AT returning and only SU needing to return so CN has its big 4 all airing again and there’s soooo much SU hate in the comments 😭.

I bet a large chunk of them just heard the show had gay in it, haven’t even seen it, and are dismissing it based on that.

Idea for a SNL theme park show

Intro

Welcome and happy season finale day! I am a huge theme park nerd and have always had this idea for a SNL show to replace the jimmy fallon ride at universal Florida.

If you didn’t know, there is a VERY accurate recreation of 30 rock at universal in Florida. Around the time this got built, jimmy fallon was blowing up on YouTube, especially with his Kevin hart rollercoaster interview, so NBC saw it as one of their hottest ip’s. This led to them building a ride where you race through nyc with jimmy fallon (and eventually get to the moon somehow?). Regardless of how the actual ride is, Fallon isn’t really as strong of an ip as it was when the ride was greenlit. What is an nbc ip that films in 30 rock that has been relevant for almost 50 years (I think there were some dark days in there)? Saturday Night Live.

Stage setup

SNL has many different quick set changes that wouldn’t be feasible to have long term at a theme park, thus either the sets would have to be minimal or some permanent changing/moving stage feature would have to be installed. Universal typically spares no expense with this type of thing plus knows it’ll have to build something to wow guests to get them to travel from across the world, so they would probably pick option B.

IMO something I don’t think we have seen done before is a carousel stage. Imagine the stage is a circle cut into 6 slices like a pizza. Each set is on a slice of that pizza, and the pizza rotates to each new set as the show progresses. 2/6 of the slices would be the iconic home base grand central set and the weekend update desk with the rest being generic locations (I.e. restaurants, a living room, a school, game show) that they could use for sketches.

The angled nature of the set (like triangles with both walls getting closer together as you go further back) works really well too because that’s what a lot of Snl sets already do to make the back wall look deeper than it is.

Show Content/Schedule

The show would be formatted like a condensed version of the original show, featuring a mix of Snl classic sketches and originals for the park. A really cool thing with the lower production cost compared to a more effects heavy show means you can develop a lot more sketches than the show would feature in a single showing, making each and every show different just like the live show. It would also be easier to develop more content for things like seasonal events and really just have a super dynamic attraction.

As for the content, the show would feature:
-An original cold open
-A quick monologue from one of the cast members acting as “host” (can change every show to give other cast members a chance to shine)
-A Classic sketch (i.e. cowbell, Matt foley, Debbie downer)
- A pretape
- A local musical talent taking residency performing 1 song
-Weekend update (with one special guest)
-An original sketch
-A Classic “grand finale” sketch that involves everyone (and maybe even the local talent)
-Goodbyes
All in 30 minutes.

Now there’s something very important to note, this will be in a theme park where people didn’t pay any extra to see the show and it will be people who have never even seen Snl, so there would be absolutely no talk of politics as much as it sucks to lose that aspect of the show. Instead of talking about real world news, weekend update would instead talk about fictional news about the park/various universal IP’s. The special guest could be one of those IP’s (like talking to gru about his thoughts on the bruce banner’s experiments over in islands of adventure) or maybe someone pretending to be a ride attendant or a universal worker of some kind. The show would also have to be very careful with content considering it’s a more general audience than what would normally watch the show and they are live and can just shout out things in the middle of the show if they don’t like them.

And again, I know taking politics out really sucks but people at theme parks just don’t give AF and will ruin the show otherwise.

On a more fun side of things, the show could be more theme park themed than normal too, and maybe some of the classic sketches could be specifically theme park themed too like “Matt Foley talks to kids who were caught line cutting” or “Debbie Downer at Minion cafe” or “Undercover Boss: Gru” (idk why everything is minion themed lol) or “Stefan: Citywalk nightlife guide”. These would be relatable to everyone there since they’re visiting the park and non offensive while still being funny.

The whole show would be 30 minutes long, and while that sounds really short for how much content that is, there would be no commercials and the set changes would be quick because of the rotating stage.

Overall this would be really cool to see but there’s probably too many kinks with theme park live comedy for this to ever work as a permanent installation. Still fun to write up about though!

Tldr

A Snl show replacing the Jimmy Fallon ride in Orlando featuring a rotating stage to quickly change sets and a condensed typical Snl schedule would be really cool even if it is not feasible.

R8 my first electric guitar pedal setup.

Pedals

\-DS1 Distortion Pedal (used)
\-SD1 Overdrive Pedal
\-RE2 Space Echo Pedal (am big Radiohead fan and wanted a signature “fun” pedal. Got used for $100 less than retail)

Other stuff
\-Truetone Cs7 power supply (used)
\-Jazz iii and Jazz iii xl picks
\-Ghost fire small pedal board
\-Yamaha Pacifica 112VM in Ice Blue
\-Yamaha THR10ii (used)

For context, I am new to electric guitar but not entirely new to guitar/music. Have played a brass instrument for \~13 years, know classical music theory really really well, have self taught piano to be able to doodle out whatever chords I want, and have about a year of uke and classical guitar. Also am an engineer so have been always fascinated by pedals bc I know that amp can already emulate the sound of a lot of pedals. Just added this disclaimer so it didn’t seem like I was dropping $1k when I just needed a cheap amp and starter instrument.

Finn is Finn

A lot of people comment on how Finn keeps his missing arm when being digested by Golb, and what that means for the series’s themes of living with trauma and change/scars that comes with growing but I feel like not that many people have talked about the significance of him literally not changing at all when he was digested.

Golb digests people into their core components, so Simon was digested into before he put the crown on, when he was at the peak of his antiquarian career. Betty similarly had only lived for Simon, so she was changed to be that same Betty from the past. Finn, despite having a crazy soul that is literally the embodiment of heroism where he could turn into his more innocent hero self when he was 12 or even the comet that represents heroism, stays exactly who he was after all his change. This is a really freakin cool way to show how Finn has grown into who he was supposed to be and really completes the coming of age themes of the show. Finn is Finn and that came through what we experienced with him when he grew up.
