A little Halloween challenge I’ve drawn!

Hey guys! I’m so excited Halloween is coming, and it will be the first time my new search and find book will - hopefully - be part of people’s lives and celebrations! My book is like a Where’s Waldo book, but you must look for the host of different Halloween parties and its lost objects! This is a small excerpt showing Granny Boo’s drawing: she is the host of the Haunted Mansion party!

Let me know: were you able to find her music box? How much time did it take? ☺️

Drawing my Halloween Search and Find Corn Maze by hand, layer by layer!

Hello! You were so kind when I posted about my Halloween illustrations, I figured out you would like to see how I create them! In a world filled with AI slop, I still do everything by hand, using my tablet and drawing each situation and character as if it was alive and unique. Hope you enjoy seeing a bit of my process! Is there something you would like to ask me about it? I’d love to share more details with you!

BTS is bulletproof… Grammys are not!

I'd like to share my thoughts on BTS not subscribing to Grammys this year and my personal experience, as someone who has drawn a biography about them and studies music history for a long time.

I was born in Brazil. I always loved brazilian hiphop. Two decades ago, we had a national award for brazilian hip hop artists that was very respected. At that time, usually, artists who would win the prize would be artists from states like Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, which are basically the states with more money and business structure in the country.

At that time, a hip hop group from brazilian state in the northeast zone, far from Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, released a revolutionary hip hop album. They would mix rap with latin rhytms and other electronic influences decades before BadBunny was even born. They were fresh, sharp on social critics, simply incredible. But they were from a state considered a marginal state in Brazil by the critics for purely historical, social and cultural prejudice.

Northeast states in Brazil are incredibly rich and complex and beautiful in many multiple ways, but the creators of the national award simply couldn't accept having a winner that was not born in Sao Paulo or Rio de Janeiro. So, specifically that year, they decided to create a category like "best northeast hip hop group", an absurd symbol of all their prejudice and arrogance. After 20 years, this is still considered an ugly and shameful mark on this award history, almost like a joke.

So: I'm very proud of BTS guys decision. Accepting being limited by a new category is ridiculous. It just shows they (and Kpop as a whole) have become much greater than these awards, much before these awards and ocidental music critics could actually realize! Kpop is establishing new standards for pop music and its hard for the old owners of music industry to accept the game has changed.

I finally decided to share one complete spread from my hand-drawn Halloween search-and-find book. Can you spot everything?

Earlier this year I shared a few previews of my Halloween search-and-find book here, but I never posted an entire spread because I didn't want to spoil too much. Now that Halloween season is getting closer, I thought it would be fun to finally share one complete page.

This spread takes place in a zombie-filled graveyard, where the Graveyard Keeper is hosting a spooky party. Your challenge is to find the host and all the hidden objects on the list. Every inch of the illustration was drawn by hand, and I hid lots of little jokes and details throughout the scene.

I'd genuinely love to know what you notice first—or whether you can actually find everything without giving up. 😄
I'm happy to answer any questions about the illustration, the creative process, or the book itself. Have fun searching!

I have a challenge for ARMY 👀

I spent the last year illustrating an unofficial BTS Search & Find book, and this is one page!

I hid references to music videos, lyrics, BU lore, old memes and all kinds of little moments. Some are obvious, but some are ridiculously obscure 😂

I've also hidden all 7 members in the scene, along with three iconic BTS objects!

I'm curious... what did you spot first?

(I will try to post a high-resolution version in the first comment if Reddit won't let you zoom in enough!)

My visual biography about BTS (in Where’s Waldo style) will be published in two months, and I wanted to share some previews with you!

Hello everyone! I’m so excited to share my new book with you. I didn’t know a lot about BTS until two years ago. After my brother talked to me about some songs, I’ve got a bit curious about them. I remember listening to proof and telling my brother I was surprised how impacting and strong their hip hop songs were. Coincidentally, one year later my publisher at HarperCollins invited me to create a visual biography about them. Then, I got very excited to listen to all their albums and understand better their lives, personalities and musical evolution. I can say I became a fan of HYYH and Map of Soul songs. I realized after my initial research that reading sbout their lives was not enough, so I got even deeper researching BU lore and their Bomb and RunBts videos. After all this time of drawing and research, I’m happy to share a bit of the result with you.

These four images are just small crops - the complete images are way bigger. Here you can see a bit of Map of Soul, HYYH, Arirang and Dark and Wild illustrations. Each spread shows one of BTS eras with lots of information about their music videos, lyrics, life facts and army created content. You will be able to remember lots of special moments while you search for the members and lots of iconic symbols and objects. I’ve became an admirer of how much efforts BTS puts in their work, and I wanted to honor that by making the best book possible.

I’m happy to discuss more about my creative process with you, if you are interested. Thank you 😊

I’m drawing an unofficial visual biography about BTS that will be published this year. Wanted to hear from you, ARMY: what’s your most memorable moment as a fan that CAN NOT be missing? ☺️

Hello everyone! I’m posting here because a BTS fan told me this would be a great place for the discussion I want to bring!

First of all, this is not promotion or self advertising at all. I’m an author publishing books through HarperCollins, and they already do a much better job promoting than I do lol. I’m an author and illustrator, and my drawing style is Search and Find (yes, if you thought about Where’s Waldo?, you got it right).

I’m currently in the final steps of finishing the research and illustrations for an unofficial visual biography about BTS in Search and Find style. Some of you may know my previous work, the Unofficial Search and Find Biography about Taylor Swift, published last year. I wasn’t a BTS fan and honestly didn’t know much about them before this project, though I always loved Boy With Luv* *lol 😆. But after researching the group, listening to all the albums, trying to understand their thoughts and feelings through the lyrics, and getting immersed in the BU lore, I started respecting them even more. I could really relate to the anxiety and anger from the Skool Trilogy era, especially the fear of not becoming an artist and ending up trapped in a corporate career you don’t believe in. Some Map of the Soul content even brought very personal things from my past back into therapy lol.

I honestly feel sad I didn’t discover BTS when I was younger. When they debuted I had already graduated, and I only started enjoying this kind of music years later. I can see how much effort they put into everything they do, and that made me feel very responsible for making the best book possible.

These are some small snippets from the illustration I made for the Skool Trilogy era. Even though these snippets doesn’t show all details, I did a lot of research to depict Seoul at that time in a realistic way, including the social divide between modern and poorer areas, trying to reflect the conflicts and fears BTS talked about during that time. I’ve drawn the same model of school bus used in Seoul at that time, instead of drawing a generic american school bus. I also added many references, drawn in my style with my personal creative thoughts and ideas, to music videos, lyrics, symbols, and visual metaphors from their work. My goal is to create a huge visual biography that goes through all periods of their career while staying true to their story.

And this is why I’d love to hear from ARMY. I know how fundamental ARMY is to BTS’s career, and I wanted the drawings to also include important fandom moments, events, memes, and memories, like the Golden Sea with the first yellow lightsticks, memes and fun facts like the Lachimolala pasta, the hilarious Rock Bison beyblade competition, etc. I’ve had so much fun discovering all these things through dozens of BANGTAN BOMBS and Run BTS episodes, but their amount of content honestly feels INFINITE lol, and sometimes I get the feeling I might be missing something that is important to you!

So I wanted to ask:

What do you think absolutely cannot be missing from this unofficial visual biography? Specially about ARMY, memes and things you´ve experienced with the guys? What’s your most memorable BTS+ARMY moment? I’d love to consider your ideas and possibly include them in the book as illustrated references. Also, would love to hear your thoughts on my approach for this book!
Thank you so much!

I’m an illustrator of Search and Find books (think Where’s Waldo!) and I just released my new book through HarperCollins about Halloween! Would love to share with you any curious facts about my creative process you may want to know!

It’s called Halloween Search and Find adventures, and even though Ive used a more funny approach, I make reference to MANY horror classic creatures from horror books, games and movies. The book works like this: Halloween night is happening and each iconic character like Dr. Frankenstein, Dracula, BlackBeard etc is hosting its own Halloween party in its own place. In every spread, you are invited to find these hosts and their lost objects. I had so much fun doing this book and revisiting movies and games I loved, hope you can be interested too. Thanks so much! ☺️

Beyond all AI slop, I still keep drawing handmade detailed illustrations.

Hey guys! Just wanted to share a bit of my work with you. All handmade, drawn and colored in Ipad procreate. Plus few color and light adjustments in Photoshop in the end. I know many of us illustrators are struggling with this new scenario, and I saw this happen to me too: the decline in commissions, the change in potential clients judgments on art’s value , etc. And I’m not here to judge who uses or not AI as a tool for drawing, as things should get more and more complex and diffuse. What I wanted to show you is that my almost 15 years drawing hand made search and find illustrations took me somewhere I’m really proud of… this is my second published book in one year. Would love to share with you any curious facts about my process and know more about your own expectations about this new scenario we are facing. Thanks so much for reading this!

I’m illustrating a BTS biography. I’d love to hear your thoughts on it!

Hello everyone. I’ve been in this sub for some time now, just reading and watching the content silently. I’m a book author, specialized in search and find illustrations (like Where’s Waldo books). Some of you may know my work from the Unofficial Search and Find Biographies book about Taylor Swift, which I published last year. As a search and find author, I love discovering easter eggs and studying the subjects I’m illustrating very deeply. And even though I already knew some stuff from BTS, I must say I have been going through one of the most challenging times in my life by studying their career for my new illustrated biography!

I always enjoyed Boy with Luv song. When I started researching, as a hip hop fan, I decided to begin with Skool trilogy albums. I was deeply impacted by it, and felt sorry for not being able to listen to BTS when I was going through lots of doubts, fear and rebel thoughts about my future during all university time (I got my degree years before BTS debuted. I went to advertising school, but was afraid of losing my life in corporative buildings and not being able to become an illustrator… fortunately, I was able to overcome these fears somehow). Also: When I started going through the side stories and concepts of Wings, Map of Soul and other albums I actually had to face very sensitive content about my past, relationship with friends and family, etc. I even brought these subjects to my therapy lol. Seriously, I never expected these artists would have such an impact on me.

So, I’m in the very last moments of finishing this book. In some weeks it will be done and sent to print. I’ve added lots of funny content related to their lyrics, life moments, their bomb videos, reality shows, documentaries… facts from their official biography, funny moments like trainees cheating Jung Kook about buying bingsu for all residence members, and serious stuff like the impact of fame on their personal identities. I’m actually overwhelmed with all this amount of information, but also proud of being able to catch all this in a vivid book that represents their career through my own visual perspective. If you are good with it, I would like to share a bit with you about my book and also ask to you, the fans, which I came up to understand are a fundamental stone in BTS history: what specific thing from their career, from your favorite album, from your favorite member, you think should NOT be missing in a book about them? Anything remarkable you would love to see, something memorable you saw in a specific concert years ago; I would love to consider making some visual reference for it in my book!

thanks so much for your patience reading this! Above is an image (actually, just a small crop) for my illustration representing their pre-debut time, when they were just arriving and meeting each other in Seoul! The Seoul taxi drivers, the Simsa station, the manwa cafes, the chicken breast juices, the early RM hip hop lessons to the members… all is there, and much more ☺️ can’t wait for you to see it.
