Stoner/Invisible Glass windshield coating?

For starters, I’m not a highly educated individual, I don’t do this for a living, i simply have adhd and like spending money on random tinkering projects for our vehicles. I’m not claiming to know what I talk about nor have I coated a windshield before. I have used UK3.0 with success though.

Looking to see if I did things right, maybe pointers on my next go around, or maybe I’m just used to the old fashion Rain-X? I get that this isn’t a high dollar product but it was $10 bucks (half off at Advance when I bought my headlight kit).

Anyways, I cleaned the windshield, then wiped it down with a diluted ipa mixture, then applied. It flashed rather quickly (less than a minute). Dampened the applicator, cross hatched it. Leveled then buffed. All of this was in a shop on a cool surface.

Finally got some rain after 3 days. Water beads away exceptionally fast, however it seems to leave a bunch of ‘lingering mist marks’ that get produced when the water makes contact with the windshield,
and doesn’t exactly seem to sheet it away like paint.

Maybe this is normal? Maybe I didn’t use enough? Maybe it’s just junk?

First go at restoring headlights

Been a long time DIY guy who worked at a used dealership for about 2 years where I learned a trick or two. I've never attempted headlights as I felt like I'd always mess something up beyond the point of return.

Bought this truck from my dad who bought it new. As you can see, the headlights were wrecked. About 6 months before I bought it, he had it detailed by a local to him guy. He said they did something to the headlights, but that it didn't last long. I can only assume it was something cheap like bug spray because it physically felt like whatever it was had eaten into the plastic.

Anyways, I bought the Cerakote kit because I wasn't too sure what to coat them with after. I knew I'd have to start with a rougher grit sandpaper than what's included. I have a stash of sheets so no worries there.

Originally started with 400, but it was still leaving back some what I call 'etching' marks. Went all the way down to 220. Next was 320, 400, 600, 800, 1000, 1500, and the included 2000 and 3000. Finally followed up with their wipes. All sanding was done by hand. I timed out each grit for one song in the shop per side (one 3-4 minute song for 220 on the left, move to the right next song). I did have to break out some hook and loop with a palm sander on the passenger side to get a stubborn spot out.

They're by no means perfect. There's still some haze in the edges, and the center where the little 'raised' section is, but they look 100x's better than before.

Things to note, the little oxidation remover wipes didn't pull much off the light, I'm assuming because they weren't really yellow, more so damaged. Also the ceramic wipes give you plenty to do the one coat it calls for, but do dry up quickly. For craps and giggles, I had enough product/time to do each fog light, and also quickly hit the license plate lights.

All in all I'm satisfied, but I think I'd rather find the ceramic wipes themselves, or find a different more economical coating. The kit is mainly oxidation wipes, few pieces of sandpaper, 2 ceramic wipes, and the sanding pad.

2010 all stock, 195k miles, purchased from my father (og owner), oil is religiously changed every 7500ish miles. I’ve personally done 3 since purchasing.

Anyways, the oil change due popped up this morning. Trip A is accurate from last oil change. No excessive idling, maybe 2 lighter (enclosed with dirt bikes) haul trips since last oil change.
