Looking for an EDC - what do you suggest?

hello all, Im looking for a lightweight, small revolver, I assume .38spl would be ideal for this situation considering the weight?. My friend had recommended me the LCR, but Im open to any suggestions or recommendations.

thanks

Wheaten suddenly aggressive towards other dogs?

My Wheaten always loved other dogs, she's always been super sweet to everyone. Recently things have changed...if she cannot say Hi to another dog, she goes crazy, will growl and bark but her tail is still wagging. (I kind of think shes pissed she cannot say hi, but Im not sure)

Last night she went to meet another dog and her hair stood up and she rounded her back and tried to go after him (well they tried to go after each other)

Ive never seen anything like it. Im not sure if I should keep her away from other dogs now, or if this was a one time thing?

The ONLY thing thats different is we are starting to walk her with a front loop harness and are keeping her on a short leash because shes a big time puller.

she's 5, if that helps.

Is the clamp closed Guard the best strategy for short people?

I really enjoy closed guard, but being around 5'9" the position doesn't always work well for me. I have been messing around with the clamp to some success… Strategically, is this the best closed guard for short kings?

Any games/puzzles for your Wheaten?

Do you guys have any recommendations for games or puzzles, mostly indoor activities for Wheatens?

We have some pretty nasty weather coming up but also want to keep her entertained.

Whats a technique or concept that took you forever to "get"

I guess this is better for purple and above, but what is a technique or Concept that took you far too long to understand or learn?

For me, when playing guard I kept stretching my legs way out without any grips. I kept obviously getting passed rather easy. One day my instructor pretty much called me an idiot and told me to keep elbow to knee establishment until getting good grips. But him being pretty harsh really made sure I never made that mistake again.

For those who say half guard doesn't work in MMA...

Maia used it as a staple of his career, Burns used it against Chimaev and now we saw Walker just pull half guard and it surly worked for him.

I think its time to rethink this

Lightweight guys with a control based games?

I know a lot of smaller guys use a movement style game. But I personally have a ton of fun using a more pressure and control styled game. Are there any pros that are lighter with that style?

Will Wilson Youtube channel is incredible

he posts rolling footage with commentary, technique breakdowns etc. His channel is newer so not a lot of videos yet. But I absolutely love his teaching style and as a X guard and deep half guy, i'm excited to see what else he's going to post

Deep Half players, what does your guard strategy/layering look like?

I really enjoy deep half, but I know it's not the best option as an "A" game and layering the guard (Keenan/Mendes Brothers are advocates of this) makes a lot of sense. For the deep half guys, what guards are you playing that funnel into DHG..

thanks!

I cannot continuously kick

Sometimes we will do warm drills or whatever of like 10 kicks each side, then 15 etc.. a lot of the guys are very good at continuously kicking, where I feel like I have to reset after every kick… I am very new, but is this just a balance and coordination thing that I can learn? or a lack of athleticism/body mechanics?

Example of Superlek at the end of this:

bathroom/digestion issues common?

Just adopted a Wheaten a few weeks back and shes had kind of soft stools(this has been going on since we got her)... not to get too descriptive, but kind of like melting chocolate ice cream... but it definitely doesn't seem urgent. She never makes a mess in the house and even when we are walking her it will take her a good 15 or 20 minutes before she has to use the bathroom…

we put her on a chicken, rice and kibble combination and not really sure it's doing much. We have an appointment with the vet, but just trying to ease my mind as I read up on PLE..which is definitely freaking me out. Is that something that they can live a normal life with?

edit: Her old vet said she does have digestive issues and suggested a low-fat diet… But as far as we know, all of the blood work came back fine? Not sure if that helps

BJJ guys: do you find the Gi to be WAY harder than no Gi?

I appreciate the Endless possibilities as well as the creativity that the Gi can offer. But generally speaking I find Gi to be SO much more difficult to learn, I don't know if it's just because I'm not smart enough but Even if you include the entire leg lock game that is going on… no gi just comes to much easier to me. anyone else have similar experiences?

Why are southpaws more difficult to spar/fight?

I was listening to Dominick Cruz' breakdown of Conor/Max and he mentioned how Southpaws are generally more difficult to fight. why is this? is it just that there are SO many more people who fight orthodox, so getting southpaw looks is more difficult?

For those who have trained in Thailand, who was the nicest trainer you've trained with?

I know there are tons of VERY good gyms and coaches in Thailand. But who are some of the nicest Kru's you guys (and gals) have trained with?
