Safe to ride on an unbalanced front tire?
Looking at a used 08 Honda 600rr tomorrow. Post mentions the front tire needs to be balanced.
I don’t have a trailer and plan to ride it home (only a couple of miles). Should I drive it straight to a shop after? I'm mainly asking if it’s safe to ride it home or to a shop, not daily riding.
Edit:
Is This 08 600RR a good buy?
30k miles
New front and rear tire
New chain and sprockets
Oil change done
New Front and rear brake fluid
New fork seals
Rear steel braided brake line
Has aftermarket fairings, Evo S slip on. Mentioned needs a front tire balance. He's willing to take $4k. Heavily debating on buying this tomorrow
Edit: slight front wheel damage
Used 600rr Buyers Guide
I bought my first bike ~2 months ago and ready to upgrade and have decided on the 600RR. I don't have a particular year in mind, locally there's a couple ranging from 08-16.
My main question is for the older bikes. From what I've gathered online and in this thread, these bikes can run until the sun burns out. However, is there a mileage cap you guys would recommend for purchasing used? There is an 08 for sale locally with 30k on the dash and a couple others in the 08-11 range with 20k+.
With that mileage, what should I be looking for that isn't the basics? What should be the price range for those years/miles?
More P211 Problems
The first issue isn’t a Sig problem, but close to 2 months ago I had the top of an optic screw shear off and got stuck. Had my gunsmith remove it, that thread is smoked.. can’t mount an optic now.
Today I realized that this piece also sheared off. I have no idea how this even happens.
How’s y’all’s luck with Sig customer service? Will be my first time contacting them about this.
21 400 ABS no rear brake pressure
Was riding on the highway then as I was getting off, I pretty much had no rear brakes. Got to a gas station and shut the bike off (funny enough, my kickstand switch got messed up again so the bike was shutting off when I would put it into first again).
Got the kickstand switch situated and limped it home. For whatever reason, I definitely had more rear brake pressure but still super spongey. Reading online, it seems like getting air out of the ABS model isn't easy (please correct me if I'm wrong).. I've read to zip tie the brake down overnight for the front, does that also work for the rear?
Bike shuts off shifting into first
Was riding it normally, downshifted a few times then gave it some throttle. The bike shut off when I was in 4th gear.
I got off the road and was able to turn the bike on again, but when shifting it to first it shuts off. This is my first bike, no idea what could be wrong. Is the clutch lever smoked based on my vid?
Cost to paint fairings?
Bought a 21 400 the other day and the right side fairings are pretty busted. I only "need" to replace the right lower, right upper/middle, the right tail and rear top center fairings.
I was able to find the rear center, tail and right lower all on eBay, same color, totaling ~$160. They are all mint condition. I found an OEM right middle/upper fairing unpainted on FB marketplace for $100.
Few questions:
How much are OEM fairings? Where do I even buy them? All I can find is aftermarket.
How much would it be to paint match the right upper/middle OEM non painted fairing?
Is there a better source for fairings for the parts listed?
Do ABS/Non ABS parts matter? Mine is an ABS.
Lockhart Phillips Rear Stand any good?
I've checked the sub, it seems like Pitbull is the way to go. Someone just sold a set of 2 for $100 on fb. I will keep looking for these.
For the meantime for just basic maintenance, will this stand work for now until I can get some Pitbull stands? Dude wants $40. It will be for a 21 Ninja 400
What part(s) is broken?
Picked up a 21 400 today as my first bike. No idea how to ride and know even less about bikes.
I noticed the handlebars hit the tank when all the way to the right, seems like one of the arms is bent.
A friend mentioned it still drives fine though
New owner
New to me 2021 400
First bike, no idea how to ride but will be learning how on it. MSF course in 2 weeks
Decided to hop on the trend
I was an Ash main in low ranks since I'd cross play with my Xbox friends who are wood 3.
2020 400 Reliability?
I know essentially nothing about bikes, nor can ride one, but definitely want to get into it. I signed up for the MSF course, it starts in a little less than a month.
That said, a white 400 ABS popped up for sale with 678 miles for $3500. Seller is taking $3300. I'm deciding to hop on it quick since most of the listings here are $4k++. Looking on the market, it seems like a steal?
How are 2020s in terms of reliability?
Can't link my Webull account
I just signed up to start tracking my net worth in one place and I've heard great things about Sofi. There's an office that I can see outside my window lol.
When linking my accounts, the only account I can't link is my Webull brokerage account, which is 50% of my NW. I saw a post saying you can manually add it, but the issue is the $ amount won't move.
Is there any way to add my actual stock holdings so it can track properly?
How screwed am I?
Top of the screw sheared straight off and hit my glasses, I thought it was a chunk of steel from the plates I was hitting.
SIG sent me an RMA, they said if they will try to get it out. If not, they will give me a "discount" on a new slide.
Should I take it to my gunsmith to get it out?
Anyone know how to get this setup?
Comments say he uses a DJI 360, but how it is setup/which mount is he using?
