would you guys spend 10k bilt points for the flying blue gold status? will for sure use the skyteam elite plus benefits at least twice in 12 months (two one way CI flights)

thinking about doing the 10k bilt transfer for flying blue gold status to get skyteam elite plus. got at least two one way CI TPE-LAX flights within next 12 months (june 26-june 27), decent chance of 3, low chance of 4.

i will use the following skyteam elite plus benefits:

  1. CI lounge- i get basic priority pass lounge access at TPE T2, but it's always packed

  2. 3 luggage- will be used if i get the status

  3. priority luggage- due to global entry, i always wait forever for my luggage at LAX

i don't usually fly flying blue at all, so i dont put a lot of value in their points. but i also dont fly CI enough within 12 months to get any status, and it's not a guarantee that i accrue enough miles within 36 months to get a PE -> business upgrade. but i am thinking about going to korea, so having some points in flying blue for the unicorn KE redemption may be useful, but i dont think i should include that in the calculations due to its rarity.

with all that in mind, would you guys do the 10k transfer? thanks

if i am flying JAL economy with flying blue gold status, do i get JAL lounge access? assume no, but finding some conflicting info online.

flying JAL economy back from HND, and if i have flying blue gold, do i get any sort of JAL lounge access? i assumed no, but saw on flying blue's website that they list JAL as one of the partners. i know JAL is oneworld and flyingblue is skyteam, but airlines have different levels of partnership, and flying blue doesn't seem to differentiate on their website.

when i click on JAL, they don't mention anything about lounge access, which makes sense. but when i click on other skyteam partners, there's also no mention of lounge access, which is weird.

i googled a bit more, and saw this air france page that mentions JAL and says "Lounge access is reserved exclusively for Flying Blue Gold, Platinum, or Ultimate members, without guests" as an asterisk/note. however, it also says "When you travel on a flight with an Air France flight number but operated by our partner..." on top

does that mean to get JAL lounge access, i would have to fly an air france flight number?

trying to figure out if getting gold status through bilt is worth it, and i'd primarily use its benefits through CI (at least twice), but if these benefits will also extend to my JAL flight, that may push me over the edge and just go for it. thanks!

USBAR af just posted 5/4, and i opened the account 5/24. from what ive read online, the account open date is when the 325 travel credit will refresh right?

is there a way to 100% confirm? i looked around in my online account and don't see any mention of the credit status, either refreshed or used.

also, i have 30 days from af post date to pc or close the card to get the refund right? therefore, that means i have until ~6/3 to do so, leaving me only only ~9 days to use my travel credit, assuming it refreshes on 5/24. thanks!

in the past, my other credit cards' priority pass membership perk required me to sign up via the priority pass website, input credit card info, create unique log in info for each card, etc.

however, since ive been downgrading cards, i needed a new priority pass, so i went to activate my palladium one. in the bilt app however, after clicking priority pass under card benefits, it just automatically has a QR code with my info.

i never did the usual sign up. will i still need to "sign up" through priority pass to officially set everything up? or is this how it works now, and i can just use this priority pass QR code within the bilt app? thanks

title. looking to book a korea trip next year. im based in LAX, but seems that i should relocate to SEA for better/"updated" hardware. was hoping there'd be a simple clear winner, like JAL LAX NRT 787 vs HND A350, but KE business 787-10 vs AS business 787-9 for SEA ICN seem pretty comparable.

what's the consensus between the two? i know KE's business is a bit older, but not considered outdated right? and AS is just previous HA planes? did they actually revamp the set up?

watched some videos, and they seemed pretty equal. no significant differences or discrepancies in terms of hardware; software im going to assume KE wins.

also open to any LAX ICN direct flight suggestions, but based on what i read and saw, my options for a better experience are limited. thanks!
