Ignore Sudocream. What steps can I take? (no pun intended)

Standing/walking job in narrow shoes for 9+ hours everyday. After 5 years I’m starting to have lower back and hallux pain both on the right side. Also having skin issues as my socks keep getting moist all the time.

What changes can I make and how to help my feet?

Seriously considering a lower paying job just to sit down and save my feet… Help.

How to keep feet dry without chemicals?

Im in my work shoes all day which causes constant moisture retention and fungal infections that are unbearable.
How can I keep them dry without excessive use of chemicals like talc powder, feet sprays, deodorant etc? Don’t want that stuff soaking up in my skin all day.
Any natural methods??

Helping the less fortunate elderly in Poland. Hoping to get more attention for this charity trying to help with warm meals, medication, bills help etc for our Polish seniors who had very hard lives.

https://pomagam.pl/napomoc\_seniorom?utm\_source=email&utm\_medium=payment\_usr&openSharePopup

As per the title. As we are approaching winter months this will mean a lot to me if you donate small amounts if possible. These are elderly people who are mostly alone and struggling.

Thank you!!

Photos in the house got me thinking

I’ve been gifted a vintage photo of an actress from Old Hollywood era (it’s not really immodest tbh) by my old friend, It’s been in my room for a long time until I realised that in traditional Islam this isn’t okay.
Should I remove it?

How about family photos? If i remove that one then I should go ahead and remove all that depict humans? Including my family?

Food for thought is that if drawing humans and animals isn’t okay then a lot of science wouldn’t exist today. Drawing was especially important to help document animal species, people in Auschwitz or during wars would have others make drawings of their loved ones to bring them comfort, understanding human anatomy greatly benefited from drawings… God has given some people a great skill and talent, how can we reject this completely?

To what extent is depiction okay?

Unable to pronounce AA

I can’t physically pronounce it. I’m an English speaker and developing an OCD about the correct recitation.

Should I just accept it and pronounce it softly the way that works for me or do I have to keep trying?

Are my prayers still fine if I settle on a pronunciation that is as close to perfect as possible and that I’m satisfied with?

When I hyper focus on the words and how I’m sounding the recitation becomes less meaningful and my mind isn’t focused on the most important thing which is the actual connection.

People mouthing things

I know this is so minor but I feel rage, anger and disgust when I see someone mouthing something without any sound coming out. Small movements especially.
This is bad but for instance someone reciting a prayer in public and making tiny mouth movements repeatedly with no end, or someone listening to music with airpods and singing along but no sound coming out. Or reading something and having to mouth the words out. WTF I HATE THIS. It’s making ordinary things and life so insufferable, I feel like something is so wrong with me!! Nobody understands

Revert rant

Just a rant tbh. Would love to know if anyone can relate to what I’m feeling.

There’s so much new stuff I’m learning everyday as a recent revert.

I’ve only just heard that there’s a way to perform wudu that is different to sunni way? 😭 Technicalities, sequences, down to finger moments etc. How am I supposed to remember any of this? I really feel like giving up and taking a break sometimes as it’s becoming very mentally taxing having to google things every 10 minutes because I’m unsure.

There is also sooo much Arabic terminology that I’ve never heard of that is apparently commonly used and understood by everyone here.

Also the whole aspect of figuring out where to draw the line, what’s truth and what isn’t. At first I have completely rejected Hadiths because as a woman I was met with a lot of misogyny, dismissal and unpleasantness. I’m still not mentally ready to go over Hadiths as it’s a whole world of its own.

How do Muslims who were born Muslim know all this stuff and at which stages of life do you learn it all?

That only makes me wonder how much there is I still don’t know and when I’m going to feel like a real Muslim. It is truly the most exhausting process ever.

On the other hand, I’m grateful that I’m able to learn Islam on a clean slate and on my own terms. It is truly beautiful to learn it without any previous bias or culture influences. It feels like a true enlightenment and I wish more people would explore Islam in the same way 🤍

Prayer advice/help for a new Muslim.

I’m new to Islam as an adult with European upbringing.
Compared to someone who was born into Islam and had family teach them the basics, I have so much work to do and a lot of it is a really challenging thought wrestling process. The resources for new muslims are overwhelming and at some point it all starts contradicting itself an further complicates things, this is why I’m choosing to do everything by myself and at my own pace.

I struggle with even attempting to pray. I speak no Arabic and having to mutter word in Arabic while praying is extremely awkward and uncomfortable because;
a) I don’t know what they mean
b) I don’t know the proper pronunciation and having to look down at the words and do prayer gestures at the same time is so frustrating and hard

I cannot change the past 20 years of my original language and heritage and I don’t want to because I love it. I will eventually learn more arabic and proper pronunciation but I also have other responsibilities in my daily life and I don’t want lack of Arabic to stop me from praying.

I can make a dua more or less but still feels like i’m not „really” doing it but just poorly attempting. The imposter syndrome is just creeping up on me constantly. I don’t want to go to a mosque for reasons I’m not going to disclose and I have no one to teach me.

I’m confused about the steps, I feel like my coordination is horrible, I don’t know what I’m saying while praying and it’s all just a huge mess to the point I have never actually prayed properly any of the 5 daily prayers because it associated with so much mental block.

People say ‚just do it, it doesn’t have to be perfect’ but at the same time, I have no one to give me feedback and I cannot truly concentrate on prayer if I’m constantly having to decipher what I’m even doing and what’s the next step.

Are there any simple steps to help me simplify things until I’m able to learn properly

Aniline leather sofa clean - help please!

These stains are mostly oil based, body products etc.

I know it will never go back to normal but at least lightening and refreshing this a little bit would be a great difference to me.

I believe this leather is quite raw and the brown comes off as soon as I use anything moist to clean it.

What to do and what products to use?

Please help!

Ealing Broadway - Rough sleeper with a yellow suitcase

I pass this man every morning sleeping on a bench in Ealing Broadway right in front of the WA cafe.

For context, I try to get to know and understand the unhoused people of Ealing and try to help them in any way I can to reconnect with any help/family members.

Does anyone have any information about him? He seems new to the area.

I want to approach him but he is always asleep when I walk past so I’m not sure how to get in touch with him.

Please DM me if you have any info/want to help me help him.
