vaginal yeast infection — need advice before my wedding

Hi girls! I’ve been dealing with a vaginal yeast infection again, and I’m honestly getting really stressed because I’m getting married in about a month.

I had a similar infection around 6–7 months ago, and unfortunately it lasted for almost 5 months. Now, for the past month, I’ve been experiencing the same symptoms (cottagey discharge, itchiness, smell) again. I’ve been using clotrimazole vaginal gel, and it does help somewhat, but the infection/symptoms keep coming back and it doesn’t seem to completely cure it.

Has anyone else dealt with recurrent yeast infections like this? What actually helped you get rid of it properly? I really want to get this under control before my wedding.

I’m planning to see a gynecologist as well, but I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences and what worked for you.
Thank you so much!

Mild ptosis – has anyone treated it without surgery?

I could really use some advice.
I have mild ptosis in my left eye, where my eyelid droops a bit, making my left eye look noticeably smaller than my right eye. It has been bothering me for a long time.

I consulted my cousin, who is a doctor, and he said surgery is an option. However, he also mentioned that there could be a small visible scar from the stitches, which has made me hesitant he also said if i think the left eye is looking worse then he will treat me but tbh i have no idea what should i do.

Has anyone here had mild ptosis and successfully treated it? If you’ve had surgery, how were your results? Was the scar noticeable? Has anyone found a non-surgical treatment that actually helped?
I’m getting engaged in about 6 months to a year, so I’m hoping to explore all my options before making a decision. Any advice or personal experiences would mean a lot. Thank you!

Living with an alcoholic father is destroying my family. I need advice

My father has been addicted to alcohol and weed for as long as I can remember. He drinks almost every day, comes home drunk, and regularly fights with my mother. It’s become a normal part of our lives, and honestly, we’re exhausted.
My mom is the one who handles everything financially. She pays for the household, takes care of me and my sister, goes to work every day, and still has to come home and deal with his drinking, arguments, and irresponsible behavior. Watching her carry all this stress is heartbreaking.
On top of that, we’re constantly worried about what people in our neighborhood think. Every time he comes home drunk or creates a scene, we know people notice and gossip. It’s embarrassing, but more than that, it’s emotionally draining.
Recently, my boyfriend decided he’s going to officially tell his parents about our relationship. His parents are quite strict, and they already know that my father is an alcoholic. We know this will probably be the biggest reason they’ll say no initially, and we’ll have to convince them that my father’s actions don’t define me or my family.
The only reason my boyfriend is telling his parents now is because my mom found out about our relationship. She wants things to move forward because her biggest wish is to see me married to someone good so she can stop worrying about my future. Seeing her carry the burden of our home while also worrying about my life breaks my heart.
The hardest part is that my father simply doesn’t care. He doesn’t care about his health, our feelings, the financial pressure on my mom, or the constant stress he’s causing. We’ve tried talking to him calmly, explaining how his drinking affects all of us, but nothing changes. He always goes back to alcohol.
I’m at a point where I feel completely helpless.
Has anyone successfully helped a parent who didn’t want to quit drinking? Is there anything we can realistically do when the person refuses to admit they have a problem? Or do we just have to accept that we can’t change someone who doesn’t want to change?
I’d really appreciate any advice or experiences. Thank you for reading.

Looking for jeans that fit like H&M but cost less

I usually buy my jeans from H&M because the fit is almost perfect for me. This time, though, I’m trying to save a bit of money, so I’m looking for alternatives.
I’m pretty picky about the fit:
Not too skinny, not too baggy.
Should fit well around the waist and thighs.
No weird bunching or awkward fit around the crotch area.
Just a clean, flattering everyday fit.
Any brands or stores you’d recommend that are a bit more budget-friendly than H&M but still have great-fitting jeans? Bonus points if you’ve switched from H&M and found something even better! I did tried zudio but it not for me jeans are not a perfect fit for me tops are really nice though.
(Yeah, I know I’m being a little demanding also i live in india so suggest accordingly:)😂)

How do i actually land paid cybersecurity internship at MNC without referrals?

I’m currently pursuing a Master’s in Cybersecurity from a decent college (not one of the top-tier institutes). I’ve completed 4 months of a SOC Analyst internship, but unfortunately I couldn’t finish the remaining 2 months because of a personal loss in my family.
Academically, I’m doing well and I’m currently the class topper. I genuinely believe I can crack technical interviews if I get the opportunity. My biggest problem isn’t confidence or preparation—it’s getting that opportunity in the first place.
My college does have placements, but most of the companies visiting either have poor reputations, offer very low-quality roles, or don’t align with the kind of career I’m aiming for.
I want to intern at an MNC or a well-known MSSP, preferably in a paid SOC Analyst or Blue Team role. The issue is that most MNCs don’t seem to hire interns openly through off-campus drives, and I don’t have any referrals or connections at these companies.(i live in Ahmedabad and i cant relocate)
So my question is:
1. How do people get paid cybersecurity internships at MNCs or reputable MSSPs without referrals?
2. Are there any companies that regularly hire off-campus interns?
3. What strategies actually work—LinkedIn networking, career pages, hackathons, certifications, cold emailing recruiters, etc.?

I’d really appreciate advice from people who’ve managed to get into companies like Deloitte, EY, PwC, KPMG, TCS, Accenture, Capgemini, IBM, Cisco, Palo Alto Networks, or other cybersecurity firms without having an internal referral.
Thanks in advance!

I don't want to lose my 8-year relationship or disappoint my mom. I feel completely stuck.

Hi everyone.

I'm sorry this is going to be a long post, but I honestly don't know who else to talk to. I really need some advice.

My boyfriend and I have been together for 8 years. We've always known that getting married wouldn't be easy because of our families, but we hoped we'd deal with it when the time came.

A couple of days ago, my younger sister (she's in 11th grade) ran away from home after my mom scolded her. We found her later that night, but the whole incident has completely broken my mom emotionally. She's angry, hurt, scared, and feels like she's been betrayed.

For some context, my dad is an alcoholic. He has never really been there for us or supported the family. My mom has literally carried our entire household on her shoulders for years. She's the one who's sacrificed everything for us, so I understand why she's under so much stress right now.

Because of everything that happened with my sister, my mom suddenly asked me if my "friend" (who is actually my boyfriend) and I were in a relationship. I denied it a few times because I panicked, but eventually I told her the truth.

The thing is... she's not against my boyfriend himself. She actually said he's a good person.

Her problem is his family.

Years ago, our families lived in the same apartment complex. Because of my dad's drinking, there was always drama, and people in the apartment used to gossip about us. Even my boyfriend's family knew everything that was happening back then.

His family is also a very traditional Brahmin family. They don't support love marriages, they want him to marry a Brahmin girl, and his father is extremely strict. His parents are also astrologers, so I'm scared they'll reject me immediately.

My mom told me she won't even think about supporting our relationship unless his parents genuinely accept me.

She said she doesn't want her daughter to marry into a family where the in-laws don't like her or where she's made to feel unwanted. She also wants them to accept my family despite my dad's alcoholism, support me if I want to continue working after marriage, and never make me feel alone.

Honestly... I understand where she's coming from.

My boyfriend has always known this was going to be difficult. For all these years he's told me that no matter how hard it gets, he'll convince his parents because he wants to marry me.

When I told him everything that happened, he immediately spoke to his elder brother and sister-in-law. They both know about our relationship and told him they're completely on our side and will do everything they can to convince his parents.

That gave me a little hope.

But I'm still terrified.

What if his parents never agree?

What if all these years together still aren't enough?

What if I end up hurting my mom after everything she's done for me?

To make everything worse, this is my final year of my master's degree. I'm currently one of the toppers in my class, and I know I have a really good chance of getting a great job after this semester.

But I can't focus anymore.

This situation is constantly on my mind. I'm scared my grades will suffer because of the stress, and if that happens, I'm worried my mom will think this relationship is affecting my future and refuse it completely.

I feel like I'm being pulled in two different directions.

I love my mom more than anything. She's sacrificed her whole life for us.

I also love my boyfriend. He's been my best friend, my biggest support system, and the kindest person in my life for the last 8 years. He's never given me a reason to doubt him.

I genuinely don't want to lose either of them.

Has anyone here been through something similar? Maybe with strict parents, caste differences, family reputation, or parents who were completely against the relationship?

Did things eventually work out?

Is it realistic to believe his parents could change their minds over time, or am I just holding onto false hope?

I'd really appreciate any advice because I honestly feel so overwhelmed right now.

Thank you for reading this far. ❤️

22F: Feeling trapped by family, love, and expectations

Hi everyone,
I’m a 22-year-old woman, and I’m feeling completely overwhelmed. This is going to be a long post, so thank you if you take the time to read it. I genuinely need some unbiased advice because I don’t know what to do anymore.
I come from a nuclear family it’s just my mom, dad, my sister, and me.
My father has been an alcoholic and regularly uses weed for as long as I can remember (around 15–17 years). Growing up, I watched him come home intoxicated almost every day and physically abuse my mother. Many times I had to step in to protect her, which often led to physical fights between me and my own father. Those incidents have been a normal part of my life for years.
Financially, my father contributes almost nothing. Everything we have today is because of my mom. She isn’t formally educated, but she’s a beautician who worked incredibly hard and eventually bought our family’s first apartment. I couldn’t be more proud of her.
Now here’s where things get complicated.
When I was in 8th grade, we lived in a rented apartment for about 6–7 years. That’s where I met my boyfriend. We’ve now been together for 8 years, and we truly love each other. We’ve always planned on getting married, and we’re finally reaching the stage where we need to tell our parents about our relationship.
The problem is that my old apartment carries a lot of painful memories.
My father would often come home drunk, create scenes, fall on the stairs, and embarrass our family in front of everyone. The neighbors constantly gossiped about us. Many people avoided us because of my father, and I spent years feeling ashamed.
My boyfriend’s family also knew about all of this. From what I know, they had a very negative opinion of my family because my father didn’t earn, was always drunk, and created problems. My boyfriend himself never judged me. He has always supported me, comforted me, and reminded me that none of it was my fault. He is honestly one of the kindest people I’ve ever known.
But now that marriage is becoming a real possibility, I’m terrified.
I’m scared his parents will bring up my family background and reject me. They’re already very traditional and only want him to marry someone from their caste. If they also use my father’s behavior as another reason to say no, I don’t know what will happen.
My parents are actually quite open-minded, but if they find out his parents think so poorly of our family, I know they’ll refuse the marriage too because they won’t want me to be disrespected.
There’s another issue that’s making me feel guilty for even thinking this way.
I’ve spent my entire life living in tiny homes—mostly 1RKs and 1BHKs. I’ve never even had my own room. One dream I’ve always had is to someday live in a spacious, comfortable home.
My boyfriend’s family currently lives in a small 2BHK. I know this might make me sound materialistic or like a gold digger, but that’s honestly not what this is about. I don’t care about luxury or someone else’s money. I just want to build a better life than the one I grew up in.
I once asked my boyfriend if, we could all live together with his parents but buy a new home together. He immediately said no because he wants to keep his parents’ wishes above everything else. He has always been very family-oriented, and I respect that. But sometimes I wish he’d be willing to make certain decisions with me as his future partner instead of always needing his parents’ approval.
There’s also something I’ve never told him.
Although my father doesn’t have a stable job, he occasionally does odd driving jobs. I’ve never had the courage to tell my boyfriend this because I carry so much shame about my father. I’ve shared almost everything else with him over the last 8 years, but this one thing feels impossible to say out loud.
Things have also become difficult since my family moved to our new apartment.
When we lived in the same society, we met every couple of days. We’d go on spontaneous dates, spend time together, and naturally stayed very close. Now that we live farther apart ( same city abt 20 min drive) but due to work and time issues we barely get that personal time together, and our relationship has started feeling different.
We’re going through a rough phase. He still loves me, and I trust him completely. I know he loves me deeply. But lately, I feel like he listens to my problems without really understanding how emotionally exhausted I am. Sometimes I don’t need solutions I just want emotional support and reassurance. With everything happening at home, I often feel alone.
On top of all this, I feel like I’ve sacrificed so much already.
I wanted to study abroad, but I stayed because I was terrified something would happen to my mom if I wasn’t nearby. I got into opportunities that could’ve taken me farther, but I chose a university close to home for the same reason. Every major decision I’ve made has been influenced by my family situation.
Now I’m dealing with career stress, family trauma, uncertainty about marriage, relationship issues, and constant anxiety about the future.
I don’t know if I’m overthinking everything or if my fears are realistic.
Am I wrong for wanting a better life? Should I tell my boyfriend everything about my father before our families meet? How do I stop feeling guilty for wanting both love and a stable future? And if anyone has been through something similar, how did you handle it?
Thank you for reading this far. Any advice would genuinely mean a lot.
