I’m from India and going to start BTech CSE this year. I’m looking to buy a laptop with a budget of around ₹80–90k (can stretch a little if worth it).
My main use cases will be:
Coding/programming
Web development
AI/ML basics later on
College projects
Watching lectures/content
Light gaming occasionally (not priority)
What I’m looking for:
Good battery life
Strong performance for 4 years
At least 16GB RAM
SSD storage
Good build quality & thermals
Preferably not too heavy
Confused between:
Gaming laptops (better performance but heavy/bad battery)
Thin & light laptops
Would really appreciate:
Specific laptop recommendations available in India
Which processor/GPU I should target
Whether dedicated GPU is necessary for CSE
Any brands/models to avoid
