How do you actually manufacture a product?

I have ideas for products, I have marketing and branding expertise, but have a huge gap when it comes to the actual manufacturing of a product.

I’ve chucked a few random ideas below - could you give me a step by step of how you’d get the ball rolling to get one (or all!) of these items manufactured, and the considerations to make? (These aren’t my ideas but just a range of ideas to help me get my head around the path to producing a physical product)

  1. Alcoholic spirit in non-standard packaging (think engine oil)

  2. Linen bedding - a range of different colours and patterns

  3. Kids Plush toys - custom design

  4. Electrolyte supplement sachet

What platforms are we all using to edit?

I currently use CapCut to edit basic videos for my small brand. I’m keen to do more/better and wondering if this is the best platform for me to use.

If I could edit on desktop and mobile that would be a bonus

Your editing platform recommendations please?

Small business / brand owner here, trying to do a better job of creating content for my brand.

Filming the usual stuff but keen to start getting more creative, overlaying brand assets, more custom subtitles, using our brand font etc.

Currently I use cap cut. Can you recommend any other platforms? Ideally being able to edit on mobile and desktop would be really handy, but not sure if that’s a thing

How can I learn to ‘win’?

I feel like a huge part of my lack of growth mindset is because I’ve never experienced reward from effort or ‘winning’. Eg whenever I’ve done an exam, I haven’t revised, so good grades haven’t taught me ‘you can set your mind to something and do it’. I’ve never won a completion. I’ve rarely got jobs I’ve gone for. I strongly feel that all of these things gradually teach you a growth mindset and that you have power to change.

I want to set myself some challenges over the next year that will show me ‘you can decide to do something and make it happen’

All I’ve thought of so far is signing up to run a race - I’m unfit at the moment but just a 5km race will be achievable and I hope start to build the building blocks that teach me I can do what I set my mind to. Any other achievable ideas?

How can I learn to use AI?

I’m mid 30s, not at all ‘techy’ and currently use AI in my work in the way i expect 90% of people do - help me write XYZ / what are some idea for XYZ / review this document etc

I’m seeing more and more examples of AI being used more effectively, but as soon as I try and explore these im immediately confused by the guidance - running scripts, plug ins etc.

Are there any good resources that can help me level up? I’m scared of being left behind

What is this ring of spots on my stomach? Had surgery last year

I’ve got this circle of little white spots on my stomach that never seems to go. I had keyhole abdominal surgery last year but this wasn’t one of the entry holes - could it be linked to that?

Explain like I’m 5 - compounding in stocks

Im new to stocks and shares and im not very knowledgable about all of this. recently heard compounding mentioned when discussing stocks and shares, can you explain like I’m 5?

With cash savings I understand - I invest £100. I get paid 10% interest and so now my cash is worth £110. Next year I get paid 10% on £110 and so on. Simple.

How would S&S compound? If I invest £100 and bought say, 1 share, and the stock goes up 10%, I still only have 1 share and am still only making any further gains on my original £100, no? The only way I could see a similar ‘compounding’ effect in S&S would be if you gained, and then used that money to buy a new stock that also gained. If you left your money in one place, does it compound? Is there something I’m missing?

Brown patches on new leaf

I thought my FLF was finally doing well after 5 years of looking pretty sad. 5 New leaves over the last month or so, but the newest has these brown marks - what’s happening?

Non-tech punt - what to go for?

Seeing coffee rise today got me thinking

Don’t panic - I invest most of my funds into sensible stuff, then have a few wild cards just to make life more exciting. However between S&P, Nebius and a few others, it’s pretty much all tech - boring.

What can I take stick a few ££ in for fun, that’s nowhere near tech?

Why is my bee wet?

I rescued this bee from the garden about 4 days ago - one wing is deformed and the other looks ok shape but seems stuck to its body. I’ve been bringing her fresh flowers and she seems ok but her body constantly looks wet?

I worried she may have fallen in some sugar water, so I poured a few drops of water to try and rinse her but no change - her body just looks wet?

SOS - do I chop?

My monstera has always been pretty happy, but since moving house it has been living in a low light room for the last year and the effects are showing (also sustained a few cat attacks…you’ll see some missing leaves)

The new stems are really long and leggy, new leaves tiny and are unfurling yellow. I feel like the best option would be to chop it back to remove the leggy new growth and yellowing leaves - is that a good idea and how do I do it?

Is bootstrapping really possible?

Would love to hear from successful founders who have bootstrapped rather than raised funds. What’s your story?

Is the tour/WOTW not hitting for anyone else?

I’ve loved dermot since 2017, and without fear will always be incredibly special to me - I was so gutted to miss out on a promised return tour.

Wondering if it’s just for me the main tour and new album just isn’t hitting like his stuff used to. The lyrics feel much mess deep, and to me it’s moved into pure pop whereas his point of difference used to be the hip hop inspiration you could feel coming through the lyrics, the story telling and the rawness.

No shade intended, I get that people evolve, but I think I’m just mourning the old stuff! Anyone else?
