Seysara causing increase in mood swings?

My daughter was previously on doxycycline and did great. This round (because she has to cycle) the doc switched to Seysara to try something new. My daughter has noticed that she’s more emotional - crying more, etc and she wonders if it’s at all correlated to Seysara
I called the derm and they said no known issues. But we all know medications affect different people differently.
TIA!

Best place to start?

Every time I think I need new makeup, I go to Sephora or Ulta and get so overwhelmed. And I feel like a lot of the associates in there aren’t really in-tune to what I need/want.
Where does one go who needs a new beginning with makeup? I’m 45 and need better direction.

For newbies: My experience - ~24 hours after first dose in 10 timestamps

Hi all! First, want to write that this subreddit has been super helpful as I made the decision to microdose Tirzepatide. Here are some of my initial experiences:

Dosage: 0.5mg
Stats: 46F, SW 150

  1. I had such a fear of the shot. Not just the pain I thought I’d feel but also actually puncturing my own skin. I was sweating while I got the vial ready - zero pain. Barely felt it. Maybe a bit of a dull sting a few minutes after but a paper cut hurts 50x more

  2. I took my dose at about 8 pm. Slept fine that night but woke up a few times curious if I felt nauseous

  3. 5:30a woke up in the morning a bit tired but don’t think it’s correlated. I didn’t feel anything - no nausea, could think about food, etc and thought “it’s not working. Wasted dose!” Learned on the app Glapp that my levels aren’t up to .5mg. That takes time.

  4. 6:30-7:40a worked out - lifted heavy upper body and did 30 minute incline walk on treadmill. Felt fine.

  5. 7:40a had typical protein shake - all good

  6. 8:30/9a: stop here. I didn’t really crave or want my usual post-workout, post getting kids to school carb, which is usually a piece of homemade sourdough with PB&J and coffee

  7. 11am - finally ate “breakfast”. It was fine

  8. 1 pm - started feeling a little queasy. Decided to eat at 1:30pm. Typical lunch of ~3/4C of low fat plain Greek yogurt, 1/4c protein granola, handful of blueberries and handful of sliced apple.

  9. 2:30pm - queasy. Not “I’m gonna barf” but I feel off. My typical, “hmmm what is there to snack on” feeling I get this time of day isn’t there. I can think about food. Like, food exists. But I don’t have interest in having any, partially because I feel full and also because I feel queasy.

  10. according to Glapp app, my levels are at ~.33 or 85% of the dose so a bit concerned how I’ll feel in a few hours, at that 24 hour mark.

Ok, a few more truths: I did overindulge in dinner and dessert before I took my first dose. Kinda felt like I was saying goodbye to an old friend. When I woke up and didn’t feel like my life changed, I ALMOST wanted to take another dose. Thank god I didn’t. Finally, I think there was part of me that actually thought if I take the shot, magically I’ll be slim. Like a miracle. lol.

Thanks all for reading! Hope this is helpful for others!

Buying sheet music

Any recs on a good website to buy random sheet music? Once in a while a song gets stuck in my head. I could sit down and figure it out but like the option of buying the music and printing it or downloading it to an iPad. TIA!

If a M-F gym grinder, when do you take your shot?

I’m up with the birds M-F and out the door early to lift 4x/week. I typically do 30 minutes of cardio (zone 2 or HIIT) followed by progressive overload strength training. I do a long recovery run on Wednesdays.

I should receive my first vial of Tirzepatide this week to microdose to help with some perimenopausal weight gain, inflammation/joint pain.

Since I typically take weekends off of doing much activity (sometimes a walk in the mornings or yoga), should I do my shots on Fridays? Does morning vs afternoon matter? TIA!

Through MIDI?

My NP through midi is willing to prescribe Tirzepatide for micro-dose. It’s not through the roof expensive but I hear there are cheaper options.

My concern is getting something fake, not having the support of a medical pro if I have questions, need help, etc.

Has anyone gone through Midi or is on it through another telehealth?

Tirz injection to pill?

My provider (midi) recommended micro dose of Tirz via injection. Is there a pill form that works and equal price ($200/month)?

Weight gain - asking about GLPs tomorrow at appt

Back in January, I decided to give HRT a try. I work in communications and my inability to come up with words and coherent sentences due to brain fog was REAL. Went on the estradiol patch through midi + progesterone.

Fast forward a month and I realized I was having serious progesterone sensitivity symptoms. Like, bad. I started taking progesterone vaginally. That helped but then 1 month later, some of the symptoms returned. Practitioner discussed cycling and that’s when I put a halt to it all. Stopped it completely, ripped off the patch and decided to get some bloodwork.

Guess what? Bloodwork is perfection. 🙄🙄🙄

So, back on HRT but cycling progesterone. That was 40 days ago. Cycle 1 of progesterone was fine.
Ok so now we’re here. Still have brain fog. And my weight has gone up maybe 10 lbs.

I am fit. Weightlift heavy 4 days a week, I do the zone 2, the high intensity, I get the steps, I’m eating the protein and fiber - and the weight is just piling on. My pants are right around the waist and I’ve always been small around the waist.

WTAH??

So tomorrow I have a telehealth appt and I’m going to have the GLP discussion. I work too damn hard at the gym and too damn hard at my job to just sit back and gain 20 lbs. and I’m 5’4 and a little bit of weight looks like a lot.

My question: who wants to share their story of micro dosing GLP-1, anyone gain weight on HRT, etc etc??

I’m feeling so defeated and a bit hopeless. I wish I could have been one of those “I started HRT and my world became unicorns and rainbows!” And it is really weird lookin 3 months pregnant.

Trigger: details of SA - How to move on after boundaries established?

Hey all. I’m F45. Was SA’d by my brother who’s 5 years older from about age of maybe 7/8 until probably 12/13. No intercourse but everything else. Had an eating disorder basically starting at 14 on and off my entire life.
Probably 10 years ago I mentioned it to my husband when I felt like I was falling apart.
Then, 8 years ago we moved far from “home” where my family lives. Took our kids with. 2 years ago I started intense therapy - EMDR, talk, Fraser’s Table. It was helpful. I sent an email to my brother placing a no-contact boundary.
My parents don’t know and we are close. Our entire family is close but they don’t nnow. I’m sure they can feel a shift.
Anyway, it’s all very complicated - my parents now live half the year where we live, talk about my brother, etc.
it took me a long time to not blame myself because there were times where it felt good. There were times where I probably initiated. But I need to remind myself he was older. He knew better.
Then when I was maybe 20, he attempted again. I said absolutely not. But after that - how did I continue to “be normal” around him?? That’s what I don’t understand.
I’m terrified to tell my parents but husband and therapist say it’s time to allow others to carry the burden. I don’t understand that emotionally. I hear what they’re saying but don’t get it.
I also don’t know what this really looks like moving forward. How do family funerals look? What happens if my parents get sick?? How does one live a life of no contact with a sibling??

Perimenopause

Hi all - I’m 45F and recent bloodwork came back as a little - just slightly - below or above “normal”
On a few hormone markers.

I’m seeing someone to specifically walk through the hormone markers. But my NP today mentioned LDN. Never heard of it. A bit of background…

About 18 months ago NOTICEABLE change in my attention span and brain fog issues. Thought maybe I had ADHD. Went to psych. I do have mild ADHD but more hyperactive so started on addrerall. It helps some but I rarely take it.

Then 6 months ago tried HRT. DISASTER. I’m progesterone sensitive and it was not good. Brain fog horrible, depressed, like - awful awful. So stopped.

So now I’m here. I’m tired all the time. I sleep great. Exercise every day. Work full time. Have kids. Yes some tiredness should be normal but I am DOG tired. And the whole coming up with words thing?? Still an issue and I work in communications.

Anyone out there start LDS to help with brain fog and exhaustion??

Real quick synopsis of my experience, hoping it helps other women.

I’m 45. Started .05 estradiol patch and 100m of progesterone oral pill.

Within a week I had horrible tender breasts, constipation and then I got this awful, persistent cough (thought it was just a coincidence). I was sleeping like the dead. 99 sleep score according to

Garmin. But I was a zombie all day. My brain fog had brain fog. I couldn’t not function and get any of my work done and I carry a lot of responsibility at my job.

About 1-2 weeks later, I was a bleeping mess. Emotional basket case. Like, BAD. BAD BAD. Thought I needed antidepressants, actually thought I needed to leave my family, that my husband needed to divorce me…BAD. Even the things that would typically help me snap out of a funk didn’t work. I was not myself at all. Literally felt like I had a wet heavy blanket hanging on my shoulders.

Ripped the patch off, stopped progesterone and within 3 days, back to myself. Emotionally the blanket fell off, cough stopped right away and all the other things GONE.

I talked to my practitioner and turns out I’m likely progesterone sensitive. I’m back on the patch and inserting progesterone vaginally. No issues and I’ve been back on it for 4 weeks.

Feel pretty darn great outside of being super late for my period.
