Personally I don't use the Horizontal upscale so much. With the clear filter it looks a bit weird, because horizontally you got more pixels but not vertically, so it looks a bit uncanny. Altough I must admit it looks fantastic with one of the TV filters like BVM.

But I just can't help and wonder if we are ever going to see a 2x resolution scale, essentially adding the vertical axis to the existing horizontal one. Or is the 3D not powerful enough.

So someone needs to make an accessory that adds lighthouse functionality to the Frame so we can keep using our vive trackers and index controllers. I think this should be possible in theory. By simply using the existing technology used in tundra or vive trackers, but adding the IR sensors in a cage that fits perfectly on the frame and attaches to the nose port at the bottom.

I know we could just strap an existing vive tracker to our headset, but it's not the most elegant solution.

Vive Trackers are still the most accurate and reliable FBT method to date, so there is a an objective reason to keep supporting this.

I've taken a liking in Console Emulation on the AP latley. But I just saw that the Dock is sold out. Knowing Analgue they sometimes just "stop" producing certain things. This is not one of them is it? Do we know when this can be expected in stock again?

I've bought multiple different retro handhelds for software emulation in the past. Im also owning a steam deck, and have been emulating on my pc for years. But ever since I got my Pocket, I just can't enjoy software emulation the same anymore.

Reasons why I prefer hardware emulation:

• 99% emulation accuracy: Sure it can be slightly off in some games, but I have personally never noticed anything. On software emulation, depending on what system and cores you use, it can be hit or miss, but it will never feel like OG hardware or FPGAs.
• No crashes: How many times, did I have it, that I was playing on my generic retro handheld, and right at a boss fight the emulation core just crashed. Doesn't happen on FPGAs.
• Pickup&Go, Sleep modes: How many times, did I open and close my generic retro handheld, and it just froze, and i had to restart the game, or the entire system, it's just not reliable. On Aanalogue Pocket, the Sleep mode actually works, and it's beautiful!
• Reliability. It just works!: The games, they just WORK, they don't crash, they don't have stutters, nothing. You can play, without the fear of fucking something up because either your emulation core or your OS is messing something up. The Analogue Pocket just works!
• Ease of use: Better than OG hardware (to a degree). Im actually at a point, where I prefer the Analogue Pocket over my fully modded GBA SP with funnyplaying screen, shell swapped and everything. Like sure, it is nice to play on original hardware. But the Analogue Pocket just works so well, it has a lot of battery life, sleep mode, I can load all my roms onto it, it plays all my GBA, GBC and GB games, it has all sorts of filters etc. And at the end of the day, the games play just as well on the AP than on my original GBA, GBC or GBs. But instead of having to deal with low batteries, or no sleep modes on OG hardware, the AP just delivers and is reliable. As much as I like the idea of playing on OG hardware, 90% of the time, I still pick to play on my AP instead of my GBA or GBC.

I guess long story short. I think Software Emulation is cool. But if you want actual reliable working gameplay, then FPGAs just win by a mile. It's so nice to just pick up your FPGA and it just works and feels great. In fact, I love it so much now, Im looking forward to be able to emulate everything in FPGAs in the future.

It seems like the best aftermarket M64 controller out there atm. It would make sense if they added support for it.

According to Modretro, it should be possible for Analogue to add support for it. According to them there is nothing from their side that's stopping it from working on the A3D. That said, im not an engineer, so idk how much of that statement is true.

Just wonder if someone here knows whether Analogue has any plans for this?

I already bought a N64 PAL version. Only to find out that a lot of games run significantly better on the NTSC version.

Quickly I was considering buying another console but the NTSC version this time.

But since I already own an original console, perhaps it would make more sense to simply buy an FPGA equivalent like the A3D.

My main idea behind this is the fact that the A3D can play games at a considerably higher frame rate, while still staying 99% true to the original hardware.

So instead of going for the NTSC version to only slightly enhance my FPS, just get an FPGA version to further increase it?

Good idea or not?

I just purchased the Grape Purple one, but now im unsure. Perhaps should've gotten with the clear one, as it's more neutral.
Do we know whether they're going to sell replacement shells in the future or no?

Love the chromatic. Would be cool to have a GBA version in the clamshell GBA SP design. Perhaps calling it the Chromatic SP :D

I've checked tuppers current suggestion, but he doesn't seem to cover the Dual Edition with twice the cache. I wonder if it makes any difference in VRC compared to the regular 9950X3D vs the new 9950X3D2
