Customers bringing up my income

I've had this happen a lot in the past 4 years. I'll have a caller who needs a payment plan or a refund and for whatever reason they're not eligible. Then they start saying "you sound like you got money so you don't know what it's like working paycheck to paycheck" or they say I sound "comfortable" like dude I work in a call center. They try to make me feel ashamed or something it's weird

Question for locals

I was told that everyone in town knows each other and I have to be prepared for that. From your experience, is that true? I like to keep to myself but I'm still friendly with strangers

Unhelpful leads

Nothing frustrates me more than when I ask a question in chat and a lead responds with the most nothingburger answer, or they'll answer with a dumb question and stop responding

Does anyone else feel like the case took a toll on your mental health

The period of time I spent researching whether or not MJ was a pedophile was one of the darker times in my life. It's all I could think about, and while I felt like I could handle it, looking back it was really messing me up and brought stuff up from my childhood. I can't stand anything to do with Michael Jackson anymore.

Stop talking...

If I ask if you have any more questions and you say no, don't blame me for hanging up once I say my closing and you start rattling off another question. You had your chance to ask questions

AITA for not taking my mom to get her anxiety medication?

My mom doesn't have a driver's license, so she relies on me (F30) when she needs to pick up her medication. She has a car (gifted to her by my grandparents) but she refuses to study to get her license. She also struggles with clinical depression, and if she misses her medication there is a strong chance she'll have a panic attack.

I'm also the only one of her children who still talks to her so I feel like a lot of the responsibility falls on me.

The problem is that I've asked my mom countless times to please give me advance notice when she needs a pharmacy pickup. I don't mind helping her, but she continues to tell me the day of, and then waits until there's only about 30 minutes before reminding me to take her. I've also offered to set her up on home delivery but she refuses.

Today, I finally said no because I was frustrated and felt like my requests weren't being respected. She ended up having to call an Uber, which I feel guilty about because she's on a fixed income.

Am I being unreasonable for not taking her?

Birthdays (vent)

This is trivial. So my team at work only has 6 people on it and anytime it's someone's birthday we all pitch to get them a gift and celebrate their day. I always give at least $10 and give my boss gift ideas for each of my coworkers and we've never once skipped someone's birthday. But my team didn't get me anything and I don't need a gift but its like it doesn't feel good. I learned my lesson and won't be pitching for anyone's gift from here on out.

I'm short on rent, could use some help

Hi, I'm located in Colorado, US. I recently had to pay a $300 vet bill for my dog who got sick and it really set me back. I don't get paid until next Friday and am $140 short for rent until then. I'm not sure what else I can do, so I'm reaching out here. I asked my landlord for an extension but she is elderly and on a fixed income so she couldn't make an exception.

I can use PayPal, Zelle, Cashapp and Venmo

Should I tell this person I'm not interested in talking anymore?

I'm 24F lesbian. I met a girl at the club and we kissed and exchanged phone numbers. I've been talking to her for a few days and I just feel like we have nothing in common. Should I just let it fizzle out or should I tell her I'm not really feeling it?

Walmart+

I decided to run an experiment on my last two Walmart+ deliveries and didn't leave a tip. Coincidentally, both orders ended up being delayed by 1–2 hours. It honestly makes me wonder: why am I paying for an already expensive membership that's supposed to include free delivery, only to feel like I also have to subsidize Walmart's drivers to get my order on time?

I'm not against tipping for good service, but if timely delivery depends on tipping before the service is even provided, what exactly am I paying the membership fee for?

How do I avoid this awkward interaction?

I work in customer service, and lately I'll be asked how I'm doing, and so I reply with "I'm good, how are you?" They often times just stare at me like I'm crazy and proceed to ask their question. I understand it's a shallow pleasantry, but I'm not sure what's warranting the strange response I'm getting.
