My First Book Releases Tomorrow!

I'm super excited! It's been a long road, but my collection of short stories comes out tomorrow! It's called The Uncanny Hour and it collects six short speculative stories where real life takes a weird turn. If you're into The Twilight Zone, Black Mirror, or The Outer Limits, then this just might be your cup o tea.

I'm not sure what the rules are on links, but if you look in the obvious places, I'm sure you'll find it ;)

Cart populates with phantom products

Hey, everyone. I recently incorporated WooCommerce into my WordPress site using the Pubnews theme. When people add my book to their cart (the only item I have for sale on my site) and then go to their cart, they see a beanie (x2) and a cap in their cart. If they delete one of them, they both disappear with an error, then the book appears. If you stay on the page too long, however, it refreshes, the book disappears, and the beanies/cap reappear.

So far it has not been problematic for visitors, but my concern is people thinking I'm running some sort of scam. I have tried various themes, and they persist. Best I can tell, everything is up-to-date and activated. Has anyone else run into this or have a solution?

The /cart page has a block with the two products hardwired into it. The block is locked down, and I cannot remove the products from the page.

I appreciate any help in advance.

How do YOU handle this?

I need to ship an order to the customer, but the address is not confirmed. I've had this happen a handful of times, and I just reach out to the customer to have them confirm the address. Usually it's something mundane like an apartment number.

This is the first time a customer has not responded within 24 hours. Do you ship anyway and wish it the best of luck? Do you kick the "ship by" date out as far as possible and wait for a response?

Inquiring minds want to know.

UPDATE: Big thanks to u/18_bees_18! The customer's email address is a domain that shares a name with the industrial park this address points to. Gonna send it off. Thanks, everyone!

Siraya Tech resin jumped form $20.99 to $29.99 (43%) right before Prime Day

I was planning to stock up on Siraya Tech resin for Prime Day because it has been one of my go-to resins for a while, but today I saw that it jumped from $20.99 to $29.99 right before the sale period.

That's a $9 increase, or roughly a43% price hike.

Maybe there is some innocent explanation, but the timing looks really bad. Raising the price right before a major sale event makes it look like the company is setting up a fake "discount" so shoppers think they are getting a deal when the sale price may just bring it back near the original price.

I used to like this company and recommend their resin, but this kind of pricing behavior completely kills my trust. I do not want to reward brands that appear to play games with pricing around big sale events.

Does Amazon even do anything to companies that engage in deceptive (and unlawful in many states) business practices?

Has anyone else noticed this with Siraya Tech or other 3D printing brands ahead of Prime Day?

I know these pop up every so often, but I keep a running list and try to keep it updated. When I catch new things, I add them to the list, and when things expire or are removed from availability, I drop them into the "Currently Unavailable" section. The links stay, just in case they decide to go live again. Rather than linking a doc, I'll just post the information here and edit it as it changes. So you may wanna bookmark this.

[Complete] [53k] [Dark Speculative Fiction] The Uncanny Hour

Heya, Book Nerds! I’m looking for beta readers for The Uncanny Hour, my collection of nine dark speculative stories where the strange, supernatural, and impossible intrude on ordinary lives.

Some stories lean toward psychological unease, others toward fantasy, science fiction, and even a little horror, but all of them ask the same question: what happens when reality stops behaving?

If you are a fan of Black Mirror, The Twilight Zone, or The Outer Limits, then this just might be your jam.

Since this is a collection, there will be a form at the end of each story. If you cannot get through all of the stories, you can help out with any that you actually read.

Please send me a DM if you are interested, and I can send you more info. I plan to start sending manuscripts out on Monday, June 8, 2026.
