Bubbly Basin Performance Issues?

I am experiencing some performance issues in Bubbly Basin. Is this because I built with too much glass? Or is this a larger issue that others are experiencing?

This was a lot of work (and glass), but well worth it!

It was a metric &#\*@ ton of work (and glass), but I finally finished this glass complex for the bubbly basin Pokemon Center cave!

I placed a layer of black rock on the cave ceiling and walls. Then I broke down the surrounding cliff/island/whatever you call it. The black rock essentially told me where to stop so I didnt flood the pokemon center area.

Then I placed allllllll the glass. Next I sucked up all the water, finally I removed the black rock.

The colored glass ceiling unfortunately doesn’t show through on the inside because of the way it interacts with the water. But I still love the look from the outside so I don’t regret that aspect!

I don’t know how I feel about the water column corners, I may experiment with something different there. Having something different in the corners became necessary because of conflicting spots where the glass meets. I would love for them to include a glass block or corner pieces in a future update.

New Quilava tattoo!

Huge shoutout to Telo.tats at hurt/comfort tattoo in Toronto, ON!

A few years ago I found her art on Etsy, bought a few prints, and followed her insta. She made the shift to tattooing and finished her apprenticeship earlier this year. When I got an invite to my friend’s wedding in NY, I just knew I had to book a session.

Quilava has been one of my favorite pokemon since I was a kid, so I am absolutely stoked to have a Canadian Quilava to call my own! 😁 (Her nickname is Maple!) 🍁

He slept like this all night

Bonus tongue prints on the glass. My guess is a bug flew by and he just had to get it.

Question: American getting a tattoo in Canada - What is the tipping culture/expectation?

Hello all! I am stoked to be getting a tattoo from one of my favorite artists up in Toronto this summer. As I plan my trip and budget, I realized that I don't actually know - is the tipping culture/expectation the same there as it is in the US?

I absolutely don't want to shortchange my artist if that's an expectation. (Tipping expectations in the tattoo world confuse me period since artists set their own prices... but when in Rome and all that, don't worry I tip my artists!)

I am over 600 hrs in on this game and only just learned…

Muddy water can be created by having water flow over mud covered blocks (it does not wash the mud away though, still need a water mon for that).

This whole time I thought it was solely either from the Wooper spot at Bleak Beach or the Moomoo Coffee Milk!! I discovered this by accident when I was transporting water on my cloud island and needed to “put it down” for a moment to do something else!

AITAH for not wanting to babysit during Mothers Day weekend?

My husband (33M) and I (28F) have an 8-year-old son together. Through him, we became friends with another family who has two daughters, ages 8 and 5. We’ve all been friends for about three years now, and during that time we’ve regularly babysat each other’s kids whenever someone wanted a date night or just needed a break. It’s been a normal thing for all of us.

A few days ago, the husband texted my husband asking if we could watch their girls Saturday evening because he wanted to surprise his wife with concert tickets for Mother’s Day weekend. He said the concert would run late and they might not get back until around 2–3 AM.

My husband initially told him “probably” and said he’d check with me first. He then called me and casually asked what we were doing Saturday. I said “nothing,” and apparently he took that as a green light to immediately tell our friend yes. Then he called me back and explained the full situation.

After hearing everything, I said, “Watching additional children during Mother’s Day weekend is not exactly how I pictured spending my time.” My husband immediately got annoyed and said, “It’s not like you had anything planned. Besides, you were going to be around kids anyway.” (He said this because we were already taking our son to a birthday party earlier that day.)

He then doubled down and said Mother’s Day is technically Sunday anyway, so it shouldn’t matter that much, and “it’s just a day.”

That really hurt me because I do basically everything in our house: cooking, cleaning, most of the parenting for our son and our dog while also working full time. Mother’s Day is literally the ONE day where I hope for even a little appreciation. I don’t even usually get anything for Christmas or my birthday, and I’ve never made a huge deal about that, but this really pushed me over the edge.

What makes it worse is that whenever “we” babysit, it mostly falls on me. I’m the one entertaining the kids, making food, solving arguments, organizing games, etc. Meanwhile my husband usually disappears into the media room, shuts the door, and plays video games because he “doesn’t know how to help.”

Also, my son has ADHD and their older daughter has ADHD, and the last time we watched them they were bouncing off the walls until after 1 AM. I had a headache the entire next day. My son finally went to bed around 1, while their daughter was literally doing somersaults on our couch.

So I told my husband I didn’t want to babysit, especially not that late into the night. He responded by saying he’d already told our friend yes and that the concert tickets had already been purchased.

At that point I told him fine BUT when the girls get dropped off, I’ll be leaving. I said I’d go see a movie and find other things to do because if HE agreed to babysit without actually discussing it with me first, then HE could handle all the kids himself.

He called me childish, unreasonable, said I was “throwing a tantrum,” and told me I needed to “help him” watch the kids.

I stood my ground, bought myself a ticket to the new Mortal Kombat movie, and now we’re barely speaking (primarily on his part)

So… AITA for not wanting to babysit kids the night before Mother’s Day?

I’ve been doing a ton of work around Rocky Ridges that I’m so excited to share once it’s done! But in the meantime, I couldn’t wait to show off this bit, inspired by the Palette Spring at Yellowstone.

The bottom pool is inspired by the Prismatic Spring, but I’ll share better pics there when I’m further along 😊
