Things not taught in MSF, but should’ve been…

What are things that you wish was covered in MSF or similar rider courses?

I’ll start this off with my number 2 complaint…pun intended. While not something they can teach it should be discussed how uncomfortable riding a bike is when your colon decides to revolt and stage a coup after eating too much spinach the day before and you’re prairie dogging the entire trip back home in 95+ degree weather 😱

My number 1 complaint, and I posted in this a while back, was how to deal with crosswinds and windy conditions. That has been discussed so not worried about that.

Just curious what experienced and new riders wish they had been taught or talked about at some point early on in their riding journey.

Comcast and nbc to split

Interesting…will have to wait and see how/if this impacts perks. The only thing that has been remotely of interest and value is the peacock add-on as a reward. If peacock goes away then it will likely be time to leave for another carrier once my bill needs to be renegotiated again.

Special request for an elderly dog, in the Richmond Virginia area

This is a random request but somebody in the RVA sub posted this, trying to find an adventure with a sidecar for their elderly dog. This is in the Richmond, Virginia area so I’m just trying to help get the word out because it does tug at the heart strings a little bit… My dog is 16 years old and has significant medical issues so I don’t spend as much time away from the house on the bike as I would normally so that I can be with him. Feels a little close to home so I thought I would signal boost it some.

Motorcycle with sidecar?

My precious 15 year old companion is aging rapidly. I’ll never let her suffer and she still has a great quality of life but I can see the warning signs that I need to prepare myself for the inevitable. She’s been with me since she was 9 weeks old- rescued from under a roll off dumpster. She’s survived more medical maladies than I can count (or calculate the cost of) including losing an eye in January. But she’s a fighter, adorable, self-possessed, has better boundaries than most humans and at 12lbs rules the dog park with an iron paw.

She LOVES driving in cars and trucks, golf carts and always sits on the bow of any boat she’s been on. She’s fearless. I’ve always dreamed of taking her on a motorcycle ride in a sidecar bc I know she’d just love it. Is anyone in our fair pup living city interested in granting a doggy/human make a wish? She’s already got doggles and tbh I’d buy a tiny helmet just bc it would be amazing.

Throwing it out there just in case- I guarantee miles of smiles from her, me and anyone who gets to witness her in all her glory!

Your power bill is expected to increase... again. Here's what Virginia customers need to know.

From the story,
“Dominion spokesperson Craig Carper says starting July 1, residents would see an increase of about $8 per month. Then, in early 2027, customers would start paying an additional $2 a month.
That means instead of increasing bills by $22, customers would be paying an extra $10 per month for the next 10 years.
We are still trying to understand from Dominion Energy why there is a total amount difference between the two plans, where customers would be paying less than $300 over 12 months versus $1,200 over 10 years.”
