Question for treatment

The past few days I’ve had really bad pain on the lower side of my gum, I couldn’t see it myself but when someone looked when I asked about something they said it was a canker sore.

This one hurts so bad. I can barely open the one side of my mouth, eating (or after eating) it hurts worse. Someone recommended doing a salt water gurgle but I only tried it twice and was severely gagging both times, to the point where I don’t want to do it again

Is there any another productive method that works?

questions using the pricing guns

I've been racking for a few weeks but have had multiple troubles with the pricing guns including today being the worst. They kept jamming when I used them, and I almost cried (mort of an autism emotional meltdown) over it. I felt horrible because i kept thinking it was me who was jamming them, when it's probably not

Bigger question (for my hands), as someone who can have questionable coordination, is there a way not to get holes in the clothing when trying to put the tag on? and more importantly, how to not keep getting my skin pierced once or twice a shift while doing so?

thank you in advance

once again having second thoughts and guilt. was it abuse or just punishment for my retaliation

I recently got a job and and a few weeks ago, I needed to go to my aunt's house (who was my legal guardian for 12 years) to pick up some documents. The times when I lived with her I thought I was getting emotionally abused by both her and my uncle. But when I went to the house, we had a really nice conversation for like an hour with her and my sister about how my life was  and I was doing since I made the decision to move out. after everything with my mom's mental health spiraling, it reiterated the fact that she was trying to protect me from all the stuff I know and am experiencing now. I was still noting some things like her correcting my sister to tell her not to interrupt, telling my sister to stop apologizing, or still trying to sternly correct her when she said something she didn't realize wasn't right. I knew it was my decision to leave, even with all of the unknowns. it benefitted my mental health not bracing to be yelled at for teeny things I couldn;t control with my disabilities, being confined to our own "play room" which was fine by me to be honest, the belittling, mocking, taking things of my favorites away, etc.She was still asking me if "I was still on that laptop of mine" which was common theme of being away from home and stuff, which she hated. I had to say i was on it less, but explained the incredible friendships it has given me. She seems like she is done with explaining anything that happened it the past and said to have moved on from it because there was nothing that could be done qbout it now. She seemed really understanding when i told her everything going on and we were even talking about potential solutions me and other people who take care of my mom were looking at. My sister, who fit into their little mold more even while still on the spectrum, was able to do so much more than I was able to at my age when I was still with them. The conversation went so well and it almost felt like there was a better connection, that it's making me rethink if it was actually abuse, or if my aunt and uncle just couldn't handle the way my autistic traits made me a little more rebellious and just handled it the only way they knew how, from being brought up from their parents (one of which was extremely abusive themselves)

I'm just sort of torn because it keeps making me rethink everything, even when I know I couldn't have stayed longer for my mental health, I feel like i'm making it worse than it was, yet it felt like torture... idk

is it common to have this guilt? am I actually in the wrong?

frustration

I've had horrible underarm picking for almost 8 or 9 years now but the past few months even since i had to shave since growing it back out have been the absolute worst. I recently got a new job, and with my first week being this past week I thankfully didn't have the time to start picking. I'm so frustrated because other than in between my scheduled days, yesterday marked my first weekend off and I ended up losing all my progress of not pulling and spent all day doing so. I was so proud for not realizing I hadn't done it, and now i feel horrible that I'm back to square one

Shift question

This is probably a really dumb question. I am trying to figure out what time I have to go in to work tomorrow. I am scheduled to work 9-3 and the store opens at 9am However I was told that people who arrive as openers need to be there at 8. If I’m not listed as opening/ an opener does that mean I’m still good to come in at 9 am?

is it too late to mention the disabilities I have even if I self-identified in my resume?

I, 24 F recently got my first official job at the company and start tomorrow. I already know I'm going to have a few day training process to go with my pace and if i need more days they will incorporate it. During my interview, for fear of it costing me the chance of the job like many others already have, I completely forgot to talk about my multiple different disabilities. I'm autistic, have adhd, anxiety, a hair pulling disorder, and symptoms related to super low iron.(can get really warm, dizzy when standing in heat or anything, tired limbs) I have no temp regulation and end up getting really overwhelmed quickly. In addition I also get migraines that are triggered by bright lights. sometimes my processing is slower and it may take me longer to do things. the store I'm working for has an obvious no phone policy on the job, however I am also one of my mom's few caretakers and have to monitor her blood sugar via dexcom so I know she's not in danger, (if i can get the app to reach that far out of the house) (in addition to her being recently hospitalized for kidney stones and told to be kept an eye on her) am i screwed for not talking about it or is something I can speak to the manager about while I'm still being trained with really reasonable accommodations. I feel like I can get through without them but don't want it to seem sudden if I realize i need some (i may delete later idk)

i consider this a win

I had fully moved on with my friend and the idea of things changing between us.. suddenly it flipped.

We actually made up a few days ago and we both agreed the rough patch had made our bond stronger. We were both sorry for how our actions were and we both understood where it was coming from. It felt like things calmed down. I had quit my relentless texts a while back, and she admitted she thought i wasn't talking because i hated her, which of course wasn't the case. I have much less fear and anxiety over the time it takes for responding now, as I have been super busy with life and it managed to overtake any issues i had with the spirals. I don't even know how it stopped to be honest. and I know that part of me will always exist but it feels much more controlled now that I have other things to focus on.and now that I have a job I'm starting tomorrow, I will be away from my tech more to even think about communicating with them. Both of us feel much better about the situation now and it makes me happy.

Afraid of judgement in workplace

I’m currently in the process of looking for jobs and getting interviews. I’ve had one interview yet to be rescheduled due to the manager being ill, yet I’ve called multiple times. Yesterday I had an over the phone interview with one of the places I applied for and they said if all goes well I’ll have an interview person interview.

I’ve recently been super stressed so my pulling has been bad. Specifically my right eyelashes and pits. Im terrified that my lash pulling will be worse and if I end up being called for the in-person interview that the interviewer will notice. Is there a way for me to stop being worried over it? I’m scared that they may notice even if it’s a slim chance

The journey that lead me here (long post sorry)

Hi everyone, I (f 24)have started getting symptoms of what I thought was POTS (I was wrong) in January. Started once I got over my 2nd time ever having covid in mid December of 2024. I noticed it when I started my senior spring semester of college a few weeks later in Jan 2025. The first thing I noticed was was how increased my inability to regulate temperature was. I could barely wear sweatshirts indoors anymore even during the winter and started overheating super quickly even in room temp. the entire semester i was dealing with fatigue and irritating migraines. Even a class or two would wipe me out.

The biggest thing I noticed is that I had to stop going to target for shopping and use a delivery service instead because just getting groceries was a hassle. I began getting super warm and dizzy just while shopping, and eventually after 2 attempts it became too much to handle. One time on a school trip to a museum, I swear I was going to pass out. It was early to mid april and it was a little chilly so I still had a jacket on. about 45 minutes in I felt really off, I was beyond overheated, extremely dizzy, my legs were super heavy, could barely hear and felt my vision almost go at one point. I remember I didn't have lunch but I normally don't have time with classes that day. I don't remember how I ended up recovering but it took maybe 30 minutes for me to feel back to myself again. I haven't had a serious episode like that other than one other time during the summer with chores.

I have also noticed that if i do too much moving wise in a small period of time or before I eat. I feel really sick and nauseous and have even thrown up a few times because of it. I noticed a few months ago that i get blood pooling in my hands below a certain point. Standing in lines and warm places still cause me to get dizzy and unsteady sometimes. yet I don't feel any of the rapid change of heart pace when getting up. Doing too much in a week wipes me out for a day or two sometimes more (Even doing laundry and dishes some days tire me out) but I also have audhd so that may be unrelated. In addition I've had lots of problems with night sweats, where, although I don't wake up, my sheets are almost sweat through each night.

and while it seems to have directly stemmed from my second bout of covid, I also grew up in a relentlessly stressful and traumatic environment which I am still recovering from. I got bloodwork done in October that lead me to a diabetic diagnosis. Someone in one of the other subs told me to test for iron and ferritin. I just got those results back and I’m not sure if it still adds up or not. The numbers may be skewed from recently starting to take multi-vitamins.

If anyone is still here, thank you. And if there is any advice please let me know

Continued search or a definitive answer

got my bloodwork results and I'm not sure if it requires a more extensive search into continuing my journey for a diagnosis,

my b12 is 207 pg/ml (reference range between 200-1100) Transferrin is 300 mg/dl (reference range 188-341) saturation is 10% which is low (reference 16-45%) Ferritin is 17. ng/ml which is like the second lowest in range (16-154) Iron binding is 405 mcg/dl (250-450) Iron total is 42 ncg/dl (40-190)

It should be noted I starting taking multi-vitamins a week or two prior, which may have affected some results

It's looking like all of my similar POTS symptoms are most likely just from low iron and/or ferritin instead.

if this is the case, I may try finding another sub, as it doesn't seem I may fit in here with the results now. either way I appreciate you all letting me in and sharing my concerns anyway

update from my ongoing process for suspected POTS (more importantly ruling other things out)

Quoted my own post from a while ago for context (please delete if needed, still learning the platform)

I advocated to my doctors and I got approved to get bloodwork done for my B12, Iron, and ferritin. Iron binding was on the test but I meant to add copper, which means I will need to get another test done if I wish to go ahead with it. (Thank you to the user who suggested it, I don't want to tag because I don't know if people like being mentioned or not). I don't have a lot of iron in my diet so I expect that to be pretty low. I'm hoping to rule out Iron-deficiency anemia and other type of anemias as the reason for my symptoms, but would not be surprised if that's what the results come back with.

>Hi everyone, I (f 24) and have been having suspicions of POTS (in a milder form) for almost a year and a half now. ....increased my inability to regulate temperature........fatigue and irritating migraines. Even a class or two would wipe me out. ...I began getting super warm and dizzy just while shopping, and eventually after 2 attempts it became too much to handle. I talked to my primary care dr but unfortunately he didn't know much about it and blood tests only came back with results of type 2 diabetes. I'm torn because I don't know if I should continue advocating for myself or not and try to keep asking for ways to get diagnosed or just leave it alone. I just find it difficult because I can't tell if I'm overthinking it or not and i don't want it to ruin things I love like going to concerts and sports events

interview today, any additional tips?

Hi everyone, I am new in here but I have spent the past couple of months looking for jobs and the past week applying. I applied to a retail associate position at the New Milford CT location. I submitted an application through Indeed and immediately got booked to pick my interview time. My interview is in about 2 and a half hours. it says the interview is in person. Is there a specific room or person I have to look for when I arrive?

It's my first job where I actually need an interview, as the other one I had was through a program for people with disabilities and I didn't need an interview process.

I've been writing down things from their website such as their values, perks, things they pride themselves in, etc. I've been reviewing that for the past day or so. Are there any additional tips or ideas of what they may ask me?

It's worth noting I'm horrible with eye contact and freeze up when trying to phrase my words because of the disabilities (my audhd specifically and social anxiety) (and I'm also doing blood tests to rule things out before continuing to persue a mild POTS diagnosis), but was told on another sub I probably should not disclose it (even though it can greatly affect some of the things I do sometimes

All tips are welcome. thank you in advance

Has anyone else had this urge? (story)

I keep trying to post but it won’t let me and not sure what the issue is. also not sure if this is the right flair. (wasn't working with the general question flair)

Does anyone else or had anyone else felt like they had an urge to pull someone else's hair?

In high school my trich was at an all time high. All of my eyelashes and eyelids were pretty much gone. The worst part was, at some points, it wasn’t just my own hair that annoyed me, but others too. I can remember specifically going to orthodontist and dentist appointments and being triggered single time. they were the only ones that triggered it for some reason.I think it's because I can notice it more when they are closer up in order to do their jobs. like some of the hair just looked out of place compared to the others (longer/on the ends, thicker)

I feel embarrassed and guilty because even though i obviously don't, and wouldn't, the urge to do it is there and strong sometimes. It makes me feel horrible and I think that's why I haven't been back in a few years.

I feel like I am completely alone in this for some reason but I wanted to just get it off my chest even though I'm scared of judgement.

Long term insulin misuse: rant (about family)

Deleted and reposted to edit crop on photo)

Around 10 pm I noticed my mom’s Dexcom was beeping that she was falling really fast. So I told her to go eat some toast and I gave her some m&ms. Numbers continued to rapidly decline and at the time I had no idea what was going on. I gave her orange juice around 10:30. Not enough. Suddenly it tumbled all the way down to it saying low. She looked really unsteady and I knew she was going to pass out so I gave her the baqsimi and called her aide who came over and brought her to the hospital. He brought her and I had a feeling something wasn’t right because of how fast it dropped. I asked him to check the cameras we had in the kitchen when he came back because I had forgot to relock the fridge after dinner. Sure enough, when he came back to the house, he went back on the camera, and sure enough, we both saw her take a dose of her insulin she wasn’t supposed to take. (She takes her dosage in the morning not at night) so now she has 2 doses of 6 units of long lasting insulin in her. She said she had completely forgotten that I gave it to her this morning but I’m not sure if I should believe it. I have a feeling it was my fault for forgetting to lock the fridge because I was busy doing calculations for shopping. The hospital said the may only keep her a few hours or overnight. I’m just exhausted because I would have thought she had learned her lesson from the fall and it just feels like she doesn’t care. I’m not sure what to even do anymore

not sure if this is considered intentional pulling?

I'm not always the best at brushing my hair due to executive functioning and so over time portions sometimes become super knotted. at one point I was crying because I had to use scissors to cut a knot. Sometimes I find myself fixing my hair but when I feel knots I try untangling them. There are times where when I try to split it, it gets stuck in between my fingers and the only way to untangle it is to pull it out, sometimes in small chunks if the knot is big. I hate it bc it hurts. I'm not sure if it's intentional pulling because I don't have the desire to (at least with my head hair), but it's the only way for me to get them out if I don't have my brush with me at my desk. I'm really embarrassed because sometimes it would take a while for it to come out and then i realize just how much hair was being pulled from the knot itself.

Is this another part of my trich or is it just being annoyed with the knots and me wanting to untangle them?

friend breakup? being discarded? (marked as vent but advice is very much needed)

Hi I've sort of lurked here a little bit and I can't remember if I posted this but if I already did please disregard (I've already joined a codependancy and anxious atatchment sub so I'm looking at stuff from there too)

I've been attached to the hip with an online friend for almost 4 years now and we used to talk everyday. Ever since last year there have been things that would cause her to be longer away than usual, notifications not working etc. coming from a place of repeated abandonment in my life. I would get upset and cry myself to sleep if I didn't hear anything but would always apologize later. fast forward a year later and she had something happen with what turned out to be a fake friend. since then they have become more and more distant. recently days without talking. no good morning or hello texts like before. If it got to 2 or 3 days for some reason i would look for things in the news to see if she was ok. I'd start getting delirious and desperate. I'd spiral in unrelenting texts, each time they would later apologize for not being there. but recently something shifted. it had been almost 5 days and I was spiraling really bad and having things happen in my life..I was crying for days trying to see what I had done and it the worst spiral I've had.... when she finally came back. instead of usually saying where they were going or anything, they got really cold, and lashed out that they couldn't be around all the time, even though that's how it used to be. we then went 8 days without talking. I was so sure they were still pissed. I cried for all those days.I decided to step away, saw a therapist, told them It probably wasn't working out... and then that was when she asked me not to leave. because everyone else already had. Told her a day or 2 later about my car incident and checked in. then silence for a few days. I finally admitted that i wanted to tell her I had feeling for her (yes I posted in limerance but nothing came out of it).

It's now been 3 weeks of being left on delivered. no check ins, nothing. Yes she told me that i guess she sort of disappears when stuff happens but that never ended up actually being the case until maybe a few months ago and it really only got worse recently. I know she was on, and still may be on vacation, and she's not on her phone much anymore. that she disappears when things happen to tend to herself. I've been trying to give more space, but it feels like I'm now 95% of the one trying to keep it together. It just seems like there isn't any effort anymore. I just miss how things used to be. but I just feel stuck. I've tried telling her how I feel, only to delete them because they feel too harsh. I feel like I've been completely discarded by someone who told me they would never leave. I tried telling her if it keeps up I may not be able to keep doing this but then she tells me not to leave but doesn't give an effort to reach ouch or check in anyway. I've tried not checking in, I've tried the dumb "guides" social media tells you to tell them in hopes they would reach back out (not even realizing it was manipulation because I'm so far gone and desperate). I only got a few days with no contact being successful before I gave in again to my anxieties. My emotional health is so damaged I haven't stopped crying in weeks, I almost started sh and then stopped and am scheduling yet ANOTHER therapy and psychiatric appointment after we had already discussed the attachment types. I talked to one of my in person friends and it helped a lot. I had gone a few days not thinking about it because I sent sort of a closure message. last night I tried deleting our messages yesterday but realized they would all delete by tomorrow so I panicked and undeleted them, cried for an hour (this was in the middle of the night btw) and then accidentally gave in and spat out more feelings before realizing they were too harsh and deleting the whole convo again. Do I just leave, even if none of us want to? She is the only person I ever got this badly attached with, whether it be friends or family. I've been really patient but I don't know what to do anymore. she's one of my best friends, but I can't have it ruin my mental health like this anymore. I'm just tired. (almost got into a car crash on accident because my mind is so foggy from this and a million other things going on) I just never thought someone who I thought was my best friend would suddenly give me the silent treatment, which also triggers trauma from a decade plus of emotional abuse, and years of abandonment I've dealt with in my life) I don't know what is going on. if she's just completely discarding me, or just avoiding me, but I'm extremely hurt and I don't know what else to do.

sorry this is so excruciatingly long. I just feel like I need advice on working on myself (in addition to the therapy and stuff I'm getting) and I just want a (3rd) community to help out and see if it's worth holding on to this anymore. if you are still here, thank you

update to situation, quoting an old post of mine (delete if needed mods, sorry)

> I just made everything so much worse, I assume she'll be back in a week, but there's been no attempts to reach out on their end, none of my texts were even read. I don't know if I'm blocked. am I in the wrong for thinking this isn't how friendships are supposed to work?. and how do I find things to enjoy again without checking my phone and crying every 10 minutes Do I apologize and go non contact myself? I was thinking about deleting the text thread we had on imessage but keep the contact number in case she wants to come back.

update on this. it's been 3 weeks. still nothing from her. not even opening my messages. Can't tell if I am being discarded entirely. Yes I tried everyone's advice, nothing worked for me. I stopped reaching out for a few times. I deleted her messages last night, then panicked when it said it would all delete in a day and undid the action.(just did it again now but not sure how long it'll stay that way) I have so much other stuff going on and I was doing so well for a few days and then it all sort of fell apart again. went to go pick up some medication, nearly accidentally crashed into someone because I kept confusing gas and brake pedal on my car (legit brain fart moment, I am ok). not really sure what to do at this point other than book more therapy appointments

Day 2 of struggle (family)

Today has not been any better for my mom. I thought we were going somewhere when she was finally rising to near 160 around noon but then it went back to roller coaster again. We have now had to buy another jug of juice, some m&ms for the lows, cookies. She had protein for breakfast. And we are having protein for dinner. Her lantus(long term) ran out so her caretaker gave us another and it was past her time to take it. Probably not the best choice but we decided to hold it. (Not take it today) We’ve been giving her snacks. We seriously have no clue what is suddenly causing this and it’s scaring everyone. I’m scared and we were told that because she is still responsive and everything that she doesn’t need to go to the hospital. But how long can this possibly be going on before needing to go if we are doing everything correctly

Tough day for my mom

I’m absolutely exhausted. My mom had her ozempic yesterday instead of Thursday because of her nurse not being available Thursday. Because her blood sugar is sort of out of control
She’s on a bunch of medication in addition to the ozempic. We’ve gotten her a lot more stable than in the past but today has been a total nightmare. First it started with a cgm issue giving a false low and then midday after some carbs and chicken she peaked around 217. Then for the past 4 hours I’ve been unable to keep her above 120 for more than an hour without dipping back down to 65 within the next hour or two. We had a meatball sub for dinner, I’ve given her 2 glasses of orange juice in total and 4 cookies (a glass of oj and 2 cookies per low) but nothing is working. I’m exhausted and I have a horrible feeling this is going to go all night. I just don’t know why it’s happening or how to make it stop. And her aide definitely won’t be coming by overnight and I don’t know when the morning person is supposed to be here for her tomorrow. I’m also scared this she’ll throw everything up because of the ozempic and I’m just tired

EDIT: still having trouble managing it this morning

confused with my diabetes managment

I've had diabetes since october and am confused by some things. I have not yet been told to make or schedule an appointment with an endocrinologist per my pcp and haven't been told to monitor or test my blood sugar. I'm not insulin dependent and am currently being managed with metformin and januvia, and switching/adding to GLP-1 if my new diet plan with my dietician doesn't work out in the next 3 months. Are they hoping to reverse my A1c numbers before it gets to that point? started at 9.7 and am now 8.4. Just curious what the thought is of not having me do any of it.
