I don't think LFC don't want Alonso. It must be that Alonso prefers Chelsea.

Both clubs need time and recruits, but Chelsea's age profile is superior, the pressure will be lower at Chelsea, Chelsea won't play in Europe next season, and Chelsea's squad gives him more to work with.

Plus, the capital city is twice as appealing as Liverpool. It's closer to most destinations both in PL and Europe.

Going to Liverpool would be instant pressure both in PL and CL, with a mountain of expectations and reputation at stake. The squad has very expensive forwards that might not all fit into Alonso's plan. And very big names who need to be replaced. A midfield that needs gutting and a defence that needs rebuilding.
