Two main reasons I think Yorick is one of the worst champions in the game after the rework.

First of all Riot Phroxzon said Yorick is one of the deepest played characters in the game meaning that almost all Yorick players are OTPs or at least mains. His winrate is stupidly low for a deeply played champion and the delta between casual players and mains is not enough. The primary reason is that Yorick is probably the lowest agency champion in the game, so a Yorick player cant transfer macro skill such as wave control while the champion microgame is also not high enough to make up for it.

1- There isn't a single champion who is unable to freeze and to slowpush, Yorick not only can not do those things but he is also forced to hard push every single time. That's frustrating for the enemy laner who cant get out of tower and it makes Yorick a worse champion at the same time (free farm for the enemy).

Now, the second problem and IMO the most important one given the fact that the rework wont be reversed: Ghouls not only stops being a part of Yorick's kit past 20 minutes, they actually help the enemies.

Can anyone here think of a single champion who has an ability that not only is bad in the first levels, and doesn't scale at all, but also actually helps the enemy in lategame? Only Yorick.

Its okay for ghouls to take x2 damage from melee auto attacks and full damage from ranged auto attacks, but life steal shouldn't be 100% effective against them. Right now any melee champion can fully recover the hp they lost from ghouls just by killing them, and then they actually get more hp than before from the minion wave.

Yorick can only deal more damage than the sustain from ghouls if he has almost an entire item of advantage. And even then, for 900g you can play under tower since enemy Yorick will hard push no matter what, and make poke 50% less effective.

In lategame melee champions with lifesteal are not worth facing anymore and ranged champions with life steal can heal up to 700 hp from ghouls. So good luck trying to teamfight. The rework was supposed to help Yorick's team fighting potential but now its worse.

Cait healing 1700 hp from ghouls. She had one and a half less items than Yorick in this clip.

Life steal should be 80 % -> 30% effective against ghouls, scaling with levels.

Did the rework fix anything? Or just make the champ weaker and worse

Title.

Before the rework Yorick wasn't a champion alone but with ghouls and ult he was easily the strongest side laner.

Right after the rework and for two patches ghouls were useless, and Yorick was broken while also being even more braindead. Then after the nerfs Yorick isnt a champion without ult, ghouls are useless and Yorick with ult and ghouls is still worse than any juggernaut, scales worse than them, has less agency, has the worst teamfight in the game and is the worse split pusher if you compare him to any other split pusher

Why can Cho Gath kill me in a 1v1 just with auto attacks and ult

Is there any counterplay to that or should I just wait until I lose the game? Like I can dodge his Q and space his W while in E with auto attacks and he can just press E and kill me. 3 auto attacks into R and I'm dead and I cant win a single trade not even with Bork when he rushes Heartsteel.

That shit cant be a tank I have seen assassins hitting a full combo to a Yuumi support and dealing less damage than this bullshit seems to deal to me. Not to mention he can ult three times before my useless 150 damage ult refreshes its cooldown.

Is this unwinnable in lane????????????????????

I thought T1 was going to be blue.

I hope this doesnt count as low effort post or something but what colour or how did you think T1 Yone was going to be? I was really hyped since the first leak, and we all thought it was a prestige skin and ofc the theme was not announced.

I thought it was gonna be blue and white for some reason, and i imagined it a bit... skinnier? I dont really know how to say it, but pretty similar to Spirit Blossom or base where everything feels lighter.

T1 Yone is a really good skin and the chroma is nice too, maybe the sword is a bit ugly

A couple of questions

1- Isnt Yorick too underloaded?

Low base stats, no scaling, conditional and low %armor reduction, no hard cc, tiny slow in a slow skillshot, no dashes, no real mobility, conditional and tiny movement speed in a low skillshot and only towards oponents.

He has less stuff than Nasus and what does Yorick get in return? Ghouls? the low dps low burst bad against duelist and bruisers and half ranged toplaners hard countered by a 900g item cosmetic?

If you ask me not to exaggerate, well Yorick gets a "good" midgame and lvl 6 powerspike but the agency is so, so low that its actually a lot weaker than other many toplaners. You cant freeze and while you can hold waves, that is not very useful in higher elos since the bounce is legendary.

2- Does the health scaling in ghouls even exist? Whats the purpose? Mages, ranged supports and most tanks need two auto attacks from early to lategame no matter the build, ranged adcs need two auto attacks in early and only one in midgame and lategame, and melee bruisers, duelist and skirmishers always need only one.

I hope Ksante stays in this state forever

I hope, and it will be like this, that this bullshit piece of sh33t stays nerfed and nerfed, and pro jailed forever. This champion should have never existed and I am so happy the dev got fired because that garbage should never work again.

Im so happy you cant even get to play a month without being nerfed and dragged to 46% winrate. Thats how every single zero skill overpowered champion should stay. Riot really did a good job with this one.

Im so so happy, i will wait until the next nerfs because oh boy a lot of nerfs are incoming.

Why is this allowed???????????

Sett is a Garen level of difficulty champion. Yone is hard to play. Yone's lategame is terrible so I have to position myself to hit a good ult, since i dont have 5k health, 200 armor and 420 AD, aswell as a 3k shield 3k true damage ability with no cooldown so i cant tank walk with 0 effort to deal damage or tank every single ultimate.

Yone cleanse had to be timed perfectly and it was removed. Now the fuck can Sett press a point and click ult which deals insane amounts of damage, also dealing AOE damage to every player when he lands AND IT HAS PRIORITY OVER MY ULT?????

I dont understand. I played the earlygame pixel perfect and I couldnt do much because he could statcheck 3 of us anyway, killing at least one in the process. He also scales like an hyper carry and outscales me in sidelane and teamfights.

Why does Riot reward this kind of 0 skill playstyle?

u/mmjyn — 17 days ago

What do you think about Yone?

Now, I will start by saying that I am a Yone and Yorick two-trick and I was a Yone OTP for a long time, since I first started to play the game. Ofc I dont pick Yorick against Irelia though so for you I am an OTP except the few times I play my legendary Shen.

I find the Irelia matchup pretty frustrating and Irelia favored, at least until the teamfights starts appearing more often, then I really notice my much better access to the back line.

I find the matchup frustrating since I am never able to kill her in a 1v1 even if I dodge her E, at any point of the game not even in lategame. Other than that, is probably my favorite "bad" matchup.

I recently first picked Irelia against another Yone main two games in a row and I did feel how superior her laning phase is, but after minute 15, which is surprisingly early IMO, I really started to get hurt by his combos. He wasnt a very good Yone (Im not bragging, but im better) and I was NOT a good Irelia. I really started to get tilted because he would E, eat my combo, hit W Q E and his damage was not that bad...

When I play Yone against Irelia, I cant do shit until three items and I feel like my autos deal 30 damage to her, and that she can all in me without passive any time she wants if I over step just a tiny bit.

Now, am I a terrible Irelia or if the Yone s better, the matchup can be really bad? Thats my doubt because as I said I never played Irelia and I suck with her. I play in Master 500 at the moment so im not the worst player in the world but I play like a Silver player (no offense to any silver player) with her.

So this is a question to the good Irelias here, is a good or better Yone hard to beat, even with the earlygame advantage? Not picking Irelia anytime soon... or ever again but I just want to know what do you think

Whats the counterplay against Sett?

Master 500 Yone and Yorick player here. Im a two-rick but my Shen is also very good.

Im not the best player in the world but i do know how to play the game, and I dont have any problem when I play Yone against Jax or Akalai, or Yorick against Irelia.

When I play anything against Sett i just cant figure out what is supposed to be his weakness. He starts with free 40% attack speed (his second auto attack), one of the best base damage in the game, high health, armor, nice movement speed... he has the best lvl1 of the entire game even capable of stat checking darius all the laning phase. Lvl1 I cant no anything, lvl 6 I cant do anything since his ult requires no skill and has priority over any other ult or cc.

W is undodgeable when paired with E or ult which cant be cancelled and its point and click. I dont think he can lose against any melee toplaner and ranged toplaners are not in the champion pool of 99% of the top players.

He is also pretty playable against ranged and I would argue that if he builds stride, and he can because he has like 3 items he can build with no problem, he is good into ranged too. At least it would take 2x more skill for the ranged player to beat Sett.

I just dont find anything remotely hard to play about him, no clear weakness, and he does not get outscaled like most juggernauts. So if skill cap is not his weakness, or earlygame, or late... Idk I just cant play against him he is my mental counterpick

What is Yorick suppsed to to?

The least mobile juggernaut, but he is not strong enough to be called a juggernaut, so the least mobile bruiser. The squishiest bruiser. The only toplaner in the game with mana problems, Illaoi at least has decent poke. He has less poke potential than any ranged champion, he beats them in lane but then at 20 minutes he is useless.

Terrible splitpusher, take every single champion who can split push and Yorick is worse. The worst champion for teamfights, the worst im not even exaggerating, he deals 15 damage per ghoul and heals 500 hp an enemy. He is terrible against tanks past 10 minutes. Terrible champ to zone (he cant control his own wave)

Absolutely no hard cc, tiny slow, terrible % armor reduction, disgusting 2x healing to the enemy with ghouls, for some reason his only unique ability gets destroyed by tabis because they count as an auto attack, but they dont apply a single on hit effect, they count as an ability and DOT for runes so they get nerfed, they dont apply the full ability based items.

Against half toplaners he wates 145 mana to deal 15 damage per ghoul, possibly heal 50+ damage per ghoul, deal his only decent damage in a 6 seconds cooldown ability (he needs GRASP) and then he dies if the enemy is an auto attacker.

He is not able to succesfully bully the oponents because of his mana and the fact that he cant control the wave. He is not able to split push properly since he dies to everything past 20 minutes, he struggles against tanks sometimes even in early because of his stupid interactions like W and Ornn.

Why even play this shit?

If Yone had AP scaling in his kit, what would you build?

Lets take current Yone's AD scaling in his abilities, take 50% of that and make it scale with AP instead.

For example with Q: 25 / 50 / 75 / 100 / 125 (+ 105% AD) -> 12.5 / 25 / 37.5 / 50 / 62.5 (+ 52.5% AD). and (+ 52.5% AP**)**.

I dont know if that would be good or bad but I would build Nashor into SB into IE or something like that

Does Ahri have counteprlay?

Im currently playing in Master 500 lp and I am not used to rant about champions being broken or easy and I always try to focus on improving and on my own mistakes... but I dont get how to play against Ahri.

I get that some champions are overpowered in lane but hard to play later on, or very op in late but with a weak laning phase but what is Ahri weakness supossed to be?

From what I see she does not have a single slightly bad matchup in laning phase, she has possitive gold income in against every single champion with an early winrate of a lane bully and a lategame winrate of a scaling champion. Like, neutralizers are not also high mobility assassins with insane lategame scaling.

I just dont get it she has insane poke, insane range and mobility insane burst etc etc I shouldnt be having problems with her

How and why is Yone top better than mid?

I play Yone top and I know he is strong but midlane feels like a dream. Massive attack speed boost with Zerks, a good variety of first items and other boots that are more than viable to build and more presence in the map.

Like every time I get to play mid I enjoy every single minute from the laning phase to the last second of the lategame. I duoQ in Master with a friend since luckily my server is pretty shit so Riot said the LP inflation wasnt a big deal and he says to me "just go top" and he is right, 50% normalized winrate which is huge for Yone and 2% delta which is impressive even for a skilled champ like Yone.

Yone top feels strong to me and im loving it... but man mid feels even better. So whats the reason why Yone is more played in top AND he has more winrate there? he always had a bit more winrate in top but a considerable amount of less games and now its the exact opposite

Best runes + build for jungle Yorick?

HOT TAKE: Yone is one of the champs with the most counterplay in the game.

First, Yone's power curve is tiny if you compare it with every single scaling champion and every single midgame champion. He starts being weak early, then a bit stronger in midgame and the winrate does not drop or increase significantly. He is not Kassadin, Kayle or Asol.

Yone's early should be dogshit if we look at his stats, since he doesn't have any. The only reason he is not as weak as other hyper carries and lategame champions, is that he has a lot of agency, agency which is arguably one of the most difficult ones to pilot in lane.

Now, Yone's trading pattern is nothing like Renek, for example. Renek can abuse the dash in, dash out trade and there is little counterplay to that, since his stats let him out trade almost everything. Yone top can never use E to start a trade without 1: being out traded instantly (Sett) or getting his wave state destroyed (Irelia). In mid there is no point in trading with E Q3 unless you are against someone like Asol. Even Viktor can fight Yone at melee range in early levels.

W is not spammeable, its his only source of damage mitigation.

Q3 is telegraphed asf in mid and requires perfect spacing in top if you want to really poke with it.

He is not an unstoppable lategame champion and he is less forgiving in lane than some thing like Vlad for example.

I think Yone is one of the only champions who, when insanely fed, can be stopped anyway with a little bit of burst, CC isn't even mandatory most of the time. You need to be really really worse than the enemy Yone in order to lose.

u/mmjyn — 1 month ago

People shouldn't be able to just ignore ghouls.

Jax can ignore the full damage and stack his passive. Same with Trynda. Irelia can use them to get out of the cage with full passive and she also builds Bork. Yone counters his entire kit.

That's fair since they all have aspects that hard counter Yorick, but champs like Renek, Voli, Sett and almost every other fighter can ignore Ghouls, afk inside cage and deal more damage than Yorick just because for some reason ghouls deal 15 damage per auto, die in one second to AOE and heal three times their damage to the enemy.

Also Yorick cooldowns are insanely high. Maybe i can understand W, perhaps E too but Q? the cooldown makes no sense. There are a lot of other champions with main abilities that have less cooldown and way more damage, healing or both.

Ghouls are already a cosmetic aspect but at the same time Yorick is not strong enough to be useful without them. You can play nano pixel perfect against a Jax, and then at level 8 his Q has 3 seconds less cooldown than your Q and of course the rest of your kit does nothing.

Can we please, at least make one of them strong enough? Yorick or Ghouls. At this point if they make Yorick nearly as strong as the other fighters and make ghouls even more useless, I would be happier.

Is this really supposed to be this close?

I mitigated every single bit of damage I could with W and dodged 2 passive procs + mitigated one, again, with W. I insta locked him with Q3 ult, charged a second Q3 and cancelled the knockup.

Still, I had to flash... not even the same items I had recurved bow + scepter and he only had the 800g armor cloth.

I picked Yone since he is supposed to beat the shit out of Ornn even in earlygame and I got my ass almost fucked every time I was forced to 1v1 or trade with him.

Is there like... anything else I could have done better?

Biased piece of shit of this sub

Not showing any name since idk if there is a rule against posting about someone. If this is banned I will consider it a biased moderator action.

What the heck is the 4th comment?? Anyone else here thinks like that??? genuinely question

Isnt Smolder, by far, the most stupid champion of the game? the most broken one of the last four years at least?

The hotfil will not be enough, in fact it will do nothing not even a .5% winrate drop. When Smolder gets nerfed HARD after this, he will be left in a balanced state, maybe a little bit too strong but not broken. Then, all of the biased players and abusers will drop 1 rank or two, and you will complain.

Im sure you all forgot how to play the game thanks to abusing this champion.

u/mmjyn — 2 months ago

Could Yone get nerfed?

I know is a small sample size but its not that small... Yone is finally not a 46-47% winrate champion and is FINALLY not stuck at 48% winrate and called it "balanced because he is hard".

I dont want to play a bad champion again...

u/mmjyn — 2 months ago

Vs Ahri?

I am loving Yone mid with all the builds and possibilities, I dont find any matchup hard not even Akali, Vex is easy peasy Pantheon free win etc etc.

But Ahri... W AA lvl 1 is 300 damage so around half my HP. Then level 1-6... the same? I try to farm I lose half my HP even if I use W to mitigate some damage. First item powerspike I can farm faster so thats okay, but if I get hit by one Q AA... half my hp again.

Then two items and again Q is half my hp and if I missplay and get hit by her E im dead in one second. One single combo is enough to kill me... I have tried every rune and build but its so annoying to lane AND play agaisnt her
