There's no one in the club so I'm having the best time I had in a long time

From Barcelona, i's a weed club. I can't have enough Antwaun. Next song is Disco Snails (obviously)

Muslims of Reddit, do you trust the "Halal" food tag in non-muslim countries?

First things first, I'm not Muslim, I'm an agnostic Spaniard.

I've seen the fast growth of Halal products in the last decade. And I've seen butcheries who sold Halal 20 years ago (Me as a child, new butchery on the neighbourhood, Moroccan owners IFRC, my mother wanted to buy something as it sounded exotic to her, the lovely couple who owned it explained to her it was killed in a religious way, which I guess was Halal)

Today I was walking home from work and saw the new Smash Burger Restaurant, who had a Halal tag and certification (in Arab tho, so I can't know).

Thinking about animal cruelty, it looks like a better way to kill them (ignoring the religious part). But that trustable butchery is no more there, and there's a ton of new similar ones on the area, lots of them announcing Halal. There are shitty cheap restaurant chains with Halal option, like this new Smash Burger one.

How do you trust, do you investigate the certification? Is there anyway other than that, to prove it's Halal?

Don't get me wrong, maybe it is, but maybe it's not. To me it's not as important, but for you Muslims it is, that's why I ask you.

Do you trust a Halal tag, or do you seek for some in particular? Is the Muslim population abroad informed about these criteria? Is there really a doubt about the industry?

I'm just a curious outsider. I don't even eat that much meat nowadays, so I'm more selective and choose field-raised (not raised in torture conditions like a macrofarm). If I could choose, I guess I'd choose an animal killed without than much suffering.

We know how marketing works in some countries and how compliant some certifications are. It's not about Islam at all, but about lying farms and corporations.

Thanks a lot! And Mashallah!

Edit: The dislikes... Who's getting angry from a genuine question? Sorry for trying to know about Halal food I guess lmao

Can I eat ticks for blood?

Hello I recently found a huge tick on the back of my dog. I think it sucked blood for quite a long time because it was the biggest I ever saw.
I ate it because I heard that raw blood is very healthy and hydrating. It was a very small amount of course but it was the first time I drank blood. Now I ask myself if ticks just can be harmful when biting or even if we eat them?

Ahir casi la palmo, just aquí.

Due to language inconsistences, "Boobs" will get "Bosty" and "Butt" will have "Buuty" from now on.

I'm tired of this anarchic language. Let's put things in order.

Shakespeare would be proud.

I found this hole on a tennis court today. Some kind of parasitoid wasp, I saw it bring a fly double its size inside.

First photo is today, second is yesterday. I had to sweep the court and water it, I'm happy that she's still working on it

It's in the club I work in, so I'll keep an eye on it. Barcelona, Spain
