Better than drilling through a wall I guess
This goes down into the customer's bathroom. Then runs into their living room

Time for a new chapter in this first Gen MDX story
Wiring schema for a radiator fan
Had to replace the cooling fan in my 2006 Acura. The wiring is not straight input blue-->output blue and input black to output black using an aftermarket(refurbished Acura) fan as most newbies would assume
Initially I did it this way and both fans didn't work. Checked the 30 Amp fuse and it was blown. Confirmed with AI if it was because of wiring and thankfully that's all that it was.
The confusing colors caused the polarity to switch and blow the fuse. After replacing the fuse, I just had to to reverse the wires blue going to black and vise versa and both fans work.
I hate how this Manufacturer could not just make it straightforward. This is a fan from the same model, just a different vehicle. Youd think you would need to match the colors but no.
Thank you
Cannot tell you how many times this came in handy and saved me a ton of money doin my own car repairs. Now I check with AI first before working on my car
A lunch break isn't even a real lunch break anymore...
The company never explicitly revokes my ability to go on lunch, it's just sometimes the way the work is handed out I can't go on lunch or it would disrupt productivity like today for example.
I work as an IT technician and do 5-6 jobs a day in a 9 hour shift. I have a 30 minute lunch break I can take anytime after the second job of the day.
The thing is, the system allocates jobs based on urgency and the timing I have to reach work. About 90% of the time, within 30 seconds of completing a job, another one is dropped on me at any given time. If I don't put myself on lunch in that 30 seconds, I can still do so after a job is assigned but there's a caveat.
I have to leave the vicinity of my currently closed job and not be in the vicinity of the next one. Also fine. Here's where it gets tricky. If they give me a job and that customer is expecting me within the next 30 minutes, I will be penalized for going on lunch.
This is an issue with the scheduling system. They only recommend when I can take lunch and not mandate it.
If I take lunch when there is an expected timeframe of arrival, I will get dinged.
30 minutes of personal time is not at all enough imo for a 9 hour shift but then again, with how hectic it isz most of my lunches are not spent idle. I will usually receive another job within an hour and have to be efficient. Usually I will be eating food I brought from home in my car while at stop signs. There's hardly time to sit and have a proper "lunch". If I finish eating early, Ill usually have to organize tools or wires or still do something work related so I don't fall behind on my "metrics".
This is getting pretty insane tbh and don't know what to do or if this legally acceptable.
Field techs be cautious..
It should be obvious that a lot of people out there are not too fond of spectrum and decide to take their frustration out on us technicians. Thank God I was not physically harmed or threatened but this happened because I was at the wrong place at the wrong time.

I went for a job and got done, was just about to get into my truck with all my stuff including my cable box and materials bag which I keep some cable, splitters, Ethernet cords etc.. as you can see from the image above when I forgot I had left some trash by the lockbox to throw away. I went back for a few quick minutes and the customer was also outside telling me how great their install is and talked about how bad service was before running a new drop. By the time I came back, some hooligans dumped all the stuff from my bag out and tossed it next to the pile of trash here. They took my staple gun, my hammer and probably my phone toner as well and threw all the other stuff they can't salvage on the side of the road.

It's clear they did this to mess with spectrum as a company cause if they just wanted to steal, they wouldn't have made this mess in the process relocating my belongings next to the trash a couple houses down.

Just be careful and always put up your stuff in your truck and lock it no matter what. I have already complained to the housing authority that has CCTV and they will be finding out who did this
I got paid to go to the dentist? Can someone explain what I'm looking at?
I went for my dental cleaning about 3 weeks ago using my work's dental insurance policy and got a check for $652. Not sure how or why but I am very happy if it is indeed free money. So...can I take it to the bank and cash this out?
Got a gift yesterday M30
A friend gave me some styling products. I have a regular haircare routine where I soak my hair in castor, rosemary, and coconut oil and use strengthening shampoo and conditioner but realized I never had any good styling products. Although they helped with hair growth, my hair would get frizzy after bathing.

This stuff I got is pretty good. I applied more of the serum to my roots rather than ends(pic 3 shows) and the frizziness is gone.
Oh boy
Spent the time to run a new drop thinking there was actual ingress on the line without taking a look right in front of me beforehand.
There was no way I could have save or escalate this job.
What's the fix?
108 miles to empty
I've been seeing this number pop up a lot. It displays itself in random times when I least expect it. In the time,on signs, currency, Page numbers, etc..

Was driving and just noticed this and am starting to evaluate how often this is becoming apparent that I'm seeing this so often it's not even a coincidence anymore.

I'm aware this is an incredibly auspicious number but not sure what I can do about it in the physical realm
Testing my homemade insecticide
Boiled crushed garlic, cloves, black pepper, rosemary oil and peppermint oil. This guy put up a fight for maybe 20 seconds then vanished.
Stuff works, I sprayed all over my kitchen in high traffic areas
I tried to do what I can from afar to let her know I care
My girl lost her mom's dog yesterday due to infection. She's visiting her elsewhere right now and has gotten so attached the the Golden in just a month.
It's been hard since I been busy with work and they've been trying to take him to the vet and get him taken care of and he didn't make it.
Sorry babe 😢
I'm done with the field, I want to work in a DC
I have 2+ years of committed, driven work ethic contributions in field IT Service and Telecom work. My hands on skills are very sharp.
I am 3 months into doing fiber optic and coax installation and troubleshooting and I'm feeling this work is so underpaid and pointless for my skill set where I can be doing much better. I mean I get the job market is pretty garbage right now but come on!
I've went to LinkedIn and indeed and seen DC technician job postings getting filled 100+ applicants in 24 hours with people who think they can work with their hands and eyes but have never touched a drill.
I have the experience, I've been working with my hands installing devices for last 10 years and working in the field for 2. I understand fiber optics, sfps, basic networking concepts, routing and switching, cable management and can even terminate cat5/cat6 cables and working with high voltage power bays and I'm getting offers for $20/hr for DC tech positions. The only reason I haven't left working for an ISP doing field work is because the pay is better than these lowball offers but the career mobility is trash.
What more can I do to secure a role within a DC for any position? I can't continue doing ISP work.
LIRR back up as agreement settled to pay workers accordingly
Why has it needed to get to the point where near half a millions daily commute is affected creating lost business for thousands of New York Small Businesses and Lost revenue for hundreds of other New York Companies for the fucktards of this bureaucracy to realize that our tax dollars need to be spent on properly compensating the ones who keep this system functional?
A couple extra dollars won't cause the millionaires yachts to go underwater DW.
Some techs call me the Nissan Tapfinder
Management has been getting on us about going to the tap and taking readings from there because they catching a lot of guys slacking measuring signal levels for the tap from the cpe of GB rather than actually going out to the tap.
This is just cause they're too lazy to get to the roof or go to to the lockbox or maybe just wanting to do the job quicker for metrics sake.
I make sure to run by the tap no matter where it is and measure correctly, hence the punny nickname
Sold my car and everything's going up
2 weeks ago, sold my financed vehicle which I still owed $5.5k on before selling and all my lenders are now reporting 17-20 points increase on my credit after the vehicle was fully paid off. Wow, never financing another vehicle again
Food prep tip to keep food fresh
When travelling long distance, cook your meals hours before, preferably a day and when the food is cool, transfer to storage containers and freeze.
Just before leaving home, pull out from freezer and carry with you. I usually have a 2.5 hour train ride or 1.5 hour drive to work.
This method helps prevent spoilage when it's warmer especially during the summer. By the time you reach, it may not be thawed yet keeping that food fresh and free of spoilage
