I hate living in Turkey and everything about it.
18M turkish non-muslim here. Turkey is a shitty country to live in if you're not among the top 1% bourgeois isolated from the ignorant dumbasses who make up the majority. For your information, the people are stuck in a miserable way of thinking "if it's not muslim AND turkish enough it's a threat to us" mentality in an obsessive way. You're interested in anything they're not informed at? It's blasphemy and treason while you're a western-funded satanistic jew who is an enemy of Islam. I'm not even joking, majority of the Turks over 25 and a huge piece of under it would exactly think like this and either will try attacking you or exclude you from society.
What happened today?
A japanese-anime themed restaurant Konoha has put an anime-cosplay festival for free which people could wear the outfits of their favorite vharacters, take photos, eat and buy merch. But guess what happened? Hundreds of the "average Turk" organized and protested against the festival with chants of Allahu Akbar. The chants quickly turned into verbal attacks with sticks and stones against the cosplayers and normal people who were interested in the festival, mostly minors, and they could even kill someone if the police hasn't stopped them. They were ready to kill people for being a part of something they know nothing about. Their arguements were the usual ones "We'll protect our children" "God perish Israel, LGBT and Satanists"
what do those posters say?:
"We are of Omar's people, not of Anime Characters"
"Reject Anime characters, keep your hood safe"
"Protect your culture, protect your children"
"Protect your morals, protect your hood"
"Our hero is Mehmed II the Conqueror"
Everytime I remember I live in a shitry country filled with shitty people I have a hard time breathing, if I can't even enjoy things fuck this country. Concepts of homeland and patriotry doesn't mean anything to me when these are the people I'm supposed to feel proud of and protect.
