Towing question

I have an 04 1500 2wd in what I would consider good condition. 177k miles and it has tow/haul mode. I have a jeep Cherokee xj at my mom’s house in Missouri that I need to bring back to El Paso Texas. About 1000 miles. I just so happen to be going there to visit this month, and I’m considering getting a U-Haul car trailer and bringing it back with me. Other option is getting it transported by a company. Part of me is pretty nervous at the thought of working my transmission like that. I think the total load would be in the range of 5500-6000 lbs

The top back corners of my cab have this rubber like seam that’s all hard and cracked. What is it? And how would I go about getting it redone

CALLING ALL HOSSES. My 2200 mile roadtrip (round trip) starts next week. I’ve done a lot, but what maintenance would you prioritize for peace of mind

My baby. My 2wd street queen. My cruiser. My chariot

I will keep this truck until I die. I was about to buy a Nissan frontier yesterday to have a 4x4 but damn I left the dealership thinking about how much I’d rather just get a RCSB gmt 800 in 4x4.

Debating

Probably not the best place to ask but need some life advice here. As someone who likes things basic, analogue and repairable as possible, I’ve been a fan of the frontier from afar. Well with some nice rebates going on I decided to start shopping for a crew cab base model s 4X4. I managed to talk a dealer down to 38K (this is after taxes and everything out the door). So monthly payments of 670 for me and I’m stuck debating. Part of me thinks I could keep my old vehicle going and save that money for retirement. The other part is scared that this is the best price I’ll see on a truck before everything inevitably keeps inflating. I am an electrician and have a legitimate use for a truck. Right now I drive an 04 Silverado which I love to death and will never get rid of, but it doesn’t seem like a terrible idea to get its replacement now while it’s cheap and drive both.

Does anybody use electric screwdrivers of this style? I know a lot of brands make them, curious how they are

Thinking of buying a pair of 1906A’s from a guy who sells shoes. When I scan the QR code I get this. Anyone know what’s up?

Something weird going on with shifter

Sometimes when I put it in reverse my truck just rolls and doesn’t actually go into reverse, although it says it’s in reverse. If I put it back in park and back to reverse 1 or 2 times it works. This has happened twice so far both times this week.

On stg hall of records, Battle Garegga has three different categories: normal, harder and extended. What are the latter two?

Looking to get upper control arms, possibly lower, ball joints, and coilovers replaced in my 2wd. Need suggestions please

I was planning to go kryptonite but all I could find was kits for 4 wheel drive. I don’t even think they make components for 2wd. So that leaves me with companies like moog but they don’t make coilovers right? I want the brands to be as cohesive and compatible as possible so I would prefer everything to be the same brand. Any recommendations are much appreciated

Holy SHIT Batman

Of all the upgrades I’ve made to my 2004, nothing has given me as immediate of an improvement as this right here. I’ve long been annoyed to the bone by a constant rattling that I thought was coming from under my dash. I’ve tore my dash apart trying to figure it out until I read about the steering column clunk in these trucks. People recommended this column bearing from Wolff engineering and damn did it work. Can’t recommend it enough

About to inherit my mom’s 98 xj. Just had a quick question

This jeep is very sentimental to me so I want to make sure it lasts forever. Does the fact that these jeeps are unibody affect the longevity? Or can they last just as long as a body on frame vehicle
