I need a pistol brace that fits a mil-spec carbine tube for a new build. Eventually I will be doing a SBR - just waiting to see if the proposed no-engraving rule comes to fruition before going the Form 1 route.
In the meantime, the lower can be built to a pistol - so what's a good brace option while it's in the initial pistol configuration?
Just picked up an old Model 60 at the LGS - snap caps are getting hung up inside the inner brass tube and won't leave the tube to feed. Removing the inner tube, they are still stuck inside the tube, and it takes some force to load another round in there, at which point the obstruction clears and all rounds will eject from the tube at once (as expected). Only loading a max of 9 rounds, the first 2-3 will feed fine, then the remainders get hung up and stuck in the tube.
Is there a way to disassemble the inner tube so I can clean it? Looks like the pin that is used to hold the tube in place when rotated in the outer tube could be drifted out with a punch.
Anyone know the size and pitch of the three machine head screws that go with the "PSA 7" Lightweight Hex Rail Assembly"? I need replacements.

Looking at this 1911 in a local auction (they don't ship), it's got a serial in the 4xx,xxx range with a 1918 manufacture date. Looks all original... what's a fair value on it? I looked at some of CMP's current auctions and they are in the $4-6k range, but this has more... "character".
Going to inspect it this week before the auction closes to see if they are all original parts and it's not just someone flipping a CMP service grade.
Just ended our first month on TFC after the end of the free plan. To continue using it, our Terraform bill would be higher than our AWS account bill for the underlying resources. The big gotcha for us is AppSync datasource mappings (basically mapping GraphQL operations to the Lambdas that will handle them). Exactly the same cost for managing a single AppSync mapping as an EC2 server resource. Given the hundreds of mappings in a complex schema, our cost blowout is unacceptable.
Off to EC2 and S3 we go. Thanks for nothing IBM. A reasonable bill and we would have stayed put.
Bought 3000 Winchester LRP off a guy during COVID - used about half of them no issue, today I had 1 hang fire and 6 fail to fire. Guess I hit a bad tray.
Pulled one of the primers - weird looking compound. Whacked it with a hammer (had eye pro), zero pop. Here's a fresh tray, definitely some funky looking ones in there.
Since being moved from the old free tier to the new free tier (we need to start paying at the end of this month), TFC feels sloooooow.
I don't have any metrics from before the conversion to measure against, but honestly it feels like workspace execution has been slowed down, and there's noticeable pauses between one workspace finishing and the next commencing.
Looking for a very low power 22LR round that won't cycle the TX22. Need *very* something for pest control - I have a suppressor, but don't want the gun to cycle to keep things extra quiet. It's in an area where it's legal to discharge firearms, but I would rather not leave brass laying around.
Do either of the Aguila Colibri loadings cycle in the TX22? They have stupid low muzzle velocities but are sufficient for dispatching rats I catch in live traps. My only pellet gun is .117 and stupid loud by comparison.
