First Brisket for First Baby (Shower)

I've been a cook and chef for a long time, but this will be my first ever smoked brisket. Originally 19.86lb, trimmed 6lb2oz off (saving for grinding into chuck for burgers on 4th of July).

I would love any pointers you have. How was my trim job? Is that point too pointy still? Is the fat still too thick in areas?

Thanks in advance, I am looking forward to hour this will turn out....I mean... if it's dry, I'll throw it in the InstantPot and turn it into shredded beef! Wish me luck!

What did I find while thrifting?

Solved!

Apparently it is a wine decanter cork that is erotically shaped. I would never have guessed! Thank you to those clearly way more cultured than I am who knew what it was.

This community is amazing and hysterical! So many clever responses, medical advise (thank you ER Dr.) and Archer references. Thank you for making me laugh and helping me solve this!

Broomfield ARC had record sales this afternoon 🎉😉🍆🍷

I was looking at the candle sticks/holders and found this.

I didn’t buy it and used a gallon of hand sanitizer when I left the store. 😳

Happy for exchange ticket

I opened 28 rewards for the recent Ceruledge event, and not a single one was the Dundunsparce. I didn't even know I was missing a card until I was ready to exchange the ticket an hour before the event ended. I like to keep that in case I can get over the 10 count for the gold border.... Lo and behold... an empty spot in my Dex!

I could be irritated about the RNG, but instead, I'll just be happy they put that ticket in for people with luck like mine.

If Not Rage Bait, Why Rage Bait Shaped?

Just saw this article, where the author is so out of touch that he feels the need to complain... PUBLICLY about how his $285k base salary isn't enough in Seattle:

"I Make $300,000 in Seattle and It's Still Not Enough; My Budget" - Business Insider

https://www.businessinsider.com/product-manager-earning-almost-300k-not-enough-living-in-seattle-2026-5

A few excerpts:

"Currently, I have around $20,000 in personal debt from expenses and travel last year. I also carry mortgage debt from my home and an investment property. I have a Tesla, and I've fully paid off my Range Rover."

"Within the next 10 years, I should be able to add another $1 million to my assets. I expect to retire around age 50, which should be comfortable. I contribute about $2,000 a month to my 401(k) and about another $2,000 a month in cash. In total, I save roughly $50,000 a year."

What in the actual ...... this is the problem (one of them). This is entitlement and delusion. This is lacking all empathy and understanding of what a normal person is going through.

Eff this guy, and eff Business Insider for publishing this tone deaf crap.
