Ik its cheesy but…Do I quit my job next year and travel?

Im in my very late 20s, If i quit next year I would have only been at my job for two years. I have wanted to travel since I was a teen, and not just for the 10 days of my vacation a year. I feel like if I don’t leave and explore and just figure out who I am in an environment i am not comfortable in, then I never will. (Yes I know how cheesy that is) People say you have so much time, but I don’t agree with that. But leaving a job is terrifying, its so hard to find work and even though I will be putting aside money to travel, not being able to support myself it also terrifying… my parents would definitely not support the decision in leaving my work to travel, and may not even let me move back home as a safety net if it doesn’t work out. Is it worth leaving a job for a couple months (aiming for 3 to 6 or longer if I love it) when the economy is so fcked and its so hard to find work ? But is it worth not trying something your gut has been pushing you to do in your one lifetime? Idk if I am able to live without knowing that I at least tried for the rest of my life? I should have done my exploring in my early 20s but it was covid.

What does a “thumbs up” to a message mean?

Pov of the men out there,
I went on a date with this guy, it was fun, both just looking for something casual. I didn’t expect him to text me again but then he sent a random cute flirty message two days later. My way of flirting is some light teasing lol, so I responded with some light teasing basically saying “wow youre actually still thinking about that 😚” and then he literally just THUMBED UP my message, like wtf lol

Now the conversation just dies, seems like hes not interested?

Which neighbourhood should I move to in Toronto?

(My post got removed in ASKTO not sure why…)

Looking to get some local opinions!
Im a 28F wanting to move the heck out of the suburbs and into the city. I have no kids and no partner.
I am looking for somewhere with community, where people are actually going out and socializing after work at cafes and bars or etc. Somewhere down to earth.
My interests include: live music and local bands, nature, animal friendly, parks. NOT looking for super clubby vibes, although I love to dance.

I’ll look into renting a place to share with roommates.

I am so tired of this isolated suburban lifestyle where there is no life after work, and you have to drive every to get somewhere and all we have is a Starbucks. I lived in the city of Montreal for 6 months and I loved it, but couldn’t find work in my field.

What do you think?

Tiff Volunteer Training Dates?

Does anyone know the training dates prior to the start of the festival? In the training module, it was mentioned that depending on the location chosen to volunteer at will determine which training dates will be needed to be attended to prior to September 5th.

I am unable to access the training module in order to review the information since the deadline is over, and I can’t seem to find those training dates anywhere else.

This will be my first time volunteering so any help would be greatly appreciated! :)

What do you think about, once a cheater, always a cheater?

What do you think about, once a cheater, always a cheater? Do you think people can cheat once and genuinely not be tempted again?

Why is the Job Market so cooked?

Its taking me an incredible amount of applications to find work and I still ended up having to move to a small town in the middle of nowhere because I couldn’t get hired in Toronto. Also why is North America so backwards with their vacation days, I only have two weeks, this should be illegal everywhere.

Can any relate to their unfulfilling job? I feel so spoilt.

I would love to hear the opinions of everyone from all over the world! I am a 28F, from Canada- Im an Industrial Designer here and the corporate life has me feeling incredibly drained and unfulfilled. I am working a typical 40 hours a week, everyday in office in a boring town. Are we supposed to accept that sitting for 9 hours a day is healthy for our bodies? And I am living in a house with five other people because I cannot afford anything else.
I have 10 days of vacation a year which is unfortunately normal in Canada, is it like this elsewhere too? I don’t understand how my parents generation accepted this lifestyle, they were much stronger. We are told that this is just life, and it makes me furious. I know that this is a spoilt mentality. There has to be more to life than 10 days of freedom a year and letting our bodies decompose in an office…

I want to experience life before it’s over. I feel like im going insane even though my job is not “that bad”.

But how is it even possible, every where is incredibly expensive and wages are low. I am lost.

I am planning to quit my job and travel next year if financially possible… anyone have success stories on quitting and travelling? How did you find work while abroad ? Any shared experiences would be great.

Can we hear from the ghosters?

(UPDATED) Why do you do it? Whats going on in your head? Help us understand the torture.

EDIT UPDATE: a lot of the comments are people who have ghosted someone because of a toxic relationship that once communicated that there needs to be an end, keeps persisting forcing a ghost. This is totally acceptable.

What about the ghosters who were in a relationship or friendship where things were going well and seemed to be a great connection, why do they disappear without even a “it was nice knowing you but take care”

I met someone on my travels who hung out for a couple days with me and my mom (who I was travelling with) he would text me after each hang out, enthusiastic and not dry, we connected well, even suggested visiting again. But when I went back home he never even opened my last messages to say bye or take care or see you another time. How hard is it just to say that you don’t want to continue a conversation !?

Anyone have experience in finding CELTA/TEFL work in EUROPE?

I am a Canadian looking to get my CELTA and am interested in trying to find work in Europe if possible. I see most people find work in Asia. I am here to see if anyone can share their experiences!
