Male police not touching female peotestors inappropriately

They are straight up dry humping them now. Delhi Police giving more power and showing solidarity to 🍇ists in their own way.

Looking for ideas for a project.

I am planning to start a project which sits at the intersection of Quantum Computing (Sensing in energy systems if possible) and Computer Vision.

So, I am looking for an headstart like where should I start from. Projects (completed and ongoing), research papers and labs that are currently working on it.

My Nolan Ranking

  1. Memento - 4.5/5

  2. Dunkirk - 4/5

  3. Indomnia - 3.5/5

  4. The Prestige - 3.5/5

  5. Oppenheimer - 3.5/5

  6. The Odyssey - 3.5/5

  7. Interstellar - 3.5/5

  8. Inception - 3.5/5

  9. The Dark Knight - 3.5/5

  10. Following - 3/5

  11. The Dark Knight Rises - 3/5

  12. Batman Begins - 3/5

  13. Tenet - 2.5/5

Imo, Nolan works best with scripts with smaller scope (wrt to characters) and tighter control with Dunkirk being the sole contradiction here (but that is due to limited dialogues).

Screenplay is obviously the one where Nolan struggles the most. He can create a scene structurally without a hitch but the moment it comes to dialogues, he writes some of the weakest dialogues which are in sharp contrast to his technical skills.

Nonethelesses, he is still one of the most importsnt film maker of this century for his contribution to technical side and popularizing 70 mm format again while actively pushing futher development of IMAX tech.

Name a scene from a movie, anime, TV series or anywhere which you consider really smart and well written. I'll start -

One if the most iconic scenes of 21st century. For all the shit that he says, very few can match Tarantino when it comes to screenplay.

Now the rankings: -

  1. Coen Brothers

P.S. - I forgot to add Cuaron in the list and only realized it after making the collage.

Scariest Superhero movies Villain. Period!!

A villain so formidable that even plot armors failed and needed a timeline reset where they didn't exist to deal with.

Source - X-Men: Days of Futurepast (Character - Sentinel)

B-Grade supremacy😤😤

Context - Movies with budget contrainsts, no big studio backing having themes of exploitation are often termed as B-Grade movies.

They do look silly but they have given rise to many innivative and revolutionary cinematic effects and cinematography techniques that defined genres. One such case was that of Mario Bava often known Master of Italian Horror and Macabre. Before making films he worked as an assistant of a cinematographer. He decided to make horror movies. During the shooting of Black Sabbath (1963), he initially found movie's texture bland. And that's when he decided to use gel lights to give it more gothic and macabre feel and since then it has become a staple offl genre. His influence can be seen of film makers like Sam Raimi and Tim Burton.

My first 10/10s since 2021

2026 so far has been a great year for anime. The gemre that did the most heavy lifting in the year definitely was drama from shows like Journal with Witch to Prism Rondo to The World is Dancing.

But the two shows that stood the most so far for me were Nippon Sangoku and Chainsmoker Cat. One feels like if Coen Brother converted True Grit into a Japanese political epic while the other is one of the best representation and visualization of addiction and depression and efforts by the person and those around her to help her get out of it. Both shows also felt so cinematic in approach that they felt like an actual movie than anime itself and an upgrade from current style of direction in anime (anime directors these days know about animation a lot but very little about camerawork)

These are the kind of stories that have been missing from the medium for a long time (grounded yet raw).

Since 2021, I haven't rated any anine 10/10 but these two anime deserve that rating. I hope we get more stories like this

We have Metro but not a single good movie theater here

The only decent one we have is PVS INOX and even there you rarely movies outside Bollywood and Telugu and sometimes Hollywood (the ones with big budget). The screen isn't that good either. I wish there was a good theater in Meerut like the ones in Delhi and Noida. So that we could have higher variety of movies.

Best time travel movie wver made

Primer by Shane Caruth came out in 2004.

Any any time travel movie released before it or after it has failed to match this movie.

While most movies use time travel as plot or as a concept which they build upon. Primer does it completely in a different manner. It tackles time travel as a problem and logistics around it which leads to the breaking of timeline as a whole.

Director/Actor Shane Caruth who was an engineer by profession before fil.ing the movie took rigorous Physics courses to keep the whole time travel as authentic, grounded and realistically as possible.

Amd it was made on a budget of $7,000.
