Just started Cerelle.
I am still waiting to get my Mirena coil removed which is booked in a few weeks.
But what are peoples experiences with the POP mini pill Cerelle?
I am coming off of the Mirena coil because of excessive weight gain.

We have a 5 year old Lurcher who is still in tact and has never been on another bitch.
For context, we have two children aged 2.5 and 7 and he has snapped at them a few times so we have measures in place to make sure our dog is safe and the children. So we already know he gets annoyed easily and can snap.
He is very food orientated so he goes crazy for it when it’s around. He’s nipped at me before when I was cutting up chicken and went to jump up onto the counter and I pushed him away.
He’s never humped or tried to mount anyone or anything.
My partners step dad just phoned him and said his dog is in heat and asked if he wanted to put our dog over her.
I’m against it. My view on it is, he doesn’t know what he’s missing so what if he finally breeds for the first time and sort of realises what he’s missed. What if it makes him more aggressive because then he’s got this pent up frustration? What if he smells a female in heat and tries to escape? Which he has never done before.
I have told my partner to get him neutered because it would chill him out (he is a crazy dog even after walks).
Edit: I can’t wait to show my partner these responses so he doesn’t think I’m stupid 😂
Edit: just to clarify as I think a lot of people are not reading this fully. It is my partners step father who is mainly pushing to breed our dog over his bitch
My partner has two children, one son from a past relationship and a daughter with me. We want another baby eventually but not right now so I’m on contraception but being on contraception just doesn’t agree with me.
So I jokingly said “we need to hurry up and have another baby so then you can get a vasectomy and then I don’t need to be on contraception” (he’s always said he’d get a vasectomy)
He’s 29, 30 in April. He has said that they wouldn’t give it to him because he’s young? Apparently one of his older friends who is in his 40’s said he got refused when he was 30 because he was still young. We’re in the UK so it’s with the NHS.
It just sounds a bit bizarre to me because it should be his choice. If he’s done having kids and he doesn’t want his partner to be on contraception for years then he should be able to make the choice.
Any ideas if this is true or not, thank you in advance!
So there’s been a lot of drama in the family. A little back story.
My dad is 53, his dad (who he thought was his dad we’ll call him P) died when he was 16, my dad was the one to turn off the life support. He was Italian but from stories he wasn’t a very nice man, my dad has memories of him and my Nan locking themselves in a room away from him. He would get physical with my Nan and have affairs etc. My dad did not have the best childhood, my Nan would leave him and his brother alone and when she got remarried and had another baby my dad and uncle were kind of left in the dust and she wanted them out of the house so she could have her nuclear family.
My dad has always been proud of the Italian heritage, he always encouraged me and my older sister to be proud. We’d go on holidays to Italy and go to the town where our family originated from, my dad took classes to learn Italian so he could speak fluently, he supported Italian rugby he was just very very proud, and it was kind of pushed onto me and my sister by my nan, she would show us photos of our ‘grandfather P’ and the family and if we went over her house for food she’d cook something Italian.
My dad decided to look into his DNA, and no Italian came up, he had cousins come up that he’d never heard of.
My dad had one full brother, or so he thought, so he asked him to do one and his came back with Italian and that they were half brothers. There was obviously some upset with this news.
A few weeks before my dad was speaking to my nan telling her there’s no Italian, and she was still talking about his ‘father P’ not owning up to anything*.*
My dad decided to do some digging on Facebook and found the family of the cousin he matched with.
He decided to speak to my nan, she confessed that she had an affair (her and P were split up but still married in the eyes of the church). She continued to say she always thought my dad and his brother looked different but she was never 100% she had a funny feeling my dad wasn’t P’s but she didn’t want to tell him because she was scared and it would’ve been frowned upon. (My nan can be a bit of a liar) so she told my dad she was pretty sure she told my dad’s real dad that she was pregnant. My nan had so many opportunities to tell the truth she even said to my dad “I had a feeling you were onto something” SO WHY DIDN’T YOU SAY ANYTHING! My poor dad.
My dad got his real dad’s details and address and decided to send a letter with a picture of himself (this has been going for a good few months, it took him a good while to decide what to do). After a few weeks he responded with a letter and they passed on emails and decided to meet each other. It was a very emotional meeting by the sounds of things, my dads real dad said he did not know that he existed and it hurts him that he’s been around all this time and didn’t know. My dad gave him a photo of me and my sister with our children and he wanted to keep the picture with our names on. He said he would like to keep in contact but it is a difficult time right now.
This man does have a family of his own. The affair my nan had with him was also an affair on his side, his wife was pregnant with their 3rd child when my father was conceived. His wife is currently unwell and he has to care for her 24/7. So he does not want to tell his wife about this as he’s scared it’ll cause her stress and she will die.
My father is really struggling with this, his real dad seemed like a really down to earth good man (although he did have an affair when he was really young) but my dad has this anger towards my nan now which me and my sister feel aswell. We have all been lied to our entire lives. My dad could’ve had a relationship with this man if my nan was honest when my dad was at an age to understand. She has stolen this from him. My dad turned off P’s life support and grieved a man he thought was his father who was also a pig of a man.
I stayed at my parents house on the weekend and my dad had a few to drink and I finally saw how much damage this has caused. Usually my dad doesn’t show emotion, he always looks ok on the outside and gets things done, but he is really hurt by this, it is so sad to see.
Me and my sister feel weird about it too. We have grown to be proud of our Italian surname and always said we’d keep our surname if we were to marry but now…we don’t want to, it’s not ours, it’s a lie.
We double barrelled our children’s surnames so we could keep the Italian surname alive but that was a mistake. My daughter has an Italian middle name, which feels wrong for her to have, my sister named her son an Italian name. It’s just all so messed up.
At the beginning I had a lot of understanding towards my nan and I gave her a lot of grace toward this whole situation but it has gone. She has continued to lie, she would’ve taken this information to the grave. She didn’t think about my dad, or me and my sister, we could’ve had a family with a cousin or my dad could’ve had a family with a sister and not known*.* My dad had a mini stroke which didn’t come from my nans side of the family so we were all confused how this had happen, she didn’t think to tell him then, she didn’t think about her sons health. It turns out my dad’s real dad has had a mini stroke.
I just wanted to post this to vent..I’m so sad for my dad, I have never seen him like this. I am sad for me and my sister, I am sad for my dad’s real father. It’s a very weird time right now.
Hi, I am at a bit of a loss and I’m considering having my coil removed.
Before I was pregnant I was in uk size 8/10 I weighed around 9st 10lbs/10st 3lbs (136lbs - 61.7kg).
After I gave birth I was in sizes Uk 12 and weighed 13st 1lbs (I took this weight 8 days after giving birth) but I was happy with my size just after giving birth. This weight was in March of 2024.
I then had the coil fitted aprox 6 weeks after. I really got on with it, my periods stopped (I used to have heavy painful periods that lasted 2 weeks). But then I started noticing the weight. I was walking everyday with my daughter in the pram and I live in a valley so I was walking up and down hills everyday and eating well.
I am now a UK size 14/16 and weigh 14st 1lbs. I am working out, doing strength training and using the treadmill 4-5x a week. I eat healthy and I don’t snack, I literally eat a sandwich for lunch (ham & cheese) and I have my dinner in the evenings and that’s it.
I am still breastfeeding a 2.5 year old (we are slowly stopping). She only feeds to go to sleep in the nights and a little in the morning when she’s half asleep so I don’t think it’s the breastfeeding that has caused the weight gain.
The lowest weight I have got to is 13st 11lbs and then I just fluctuate back up.
I never took into consideration that it could’ve been the coil that has caused the weight gain until a few days ago, I have googled it and it says it’s not a side effect but reading everyone’s stories on Reddit has made me think twice.
I would just like to hear everyone else’s experiences with weight, did you lose it after having it removed? What efforts did you have to go through to lose the weight or did you just keep everything the same and noticed a difference?
Thankyou in advance ❤️
I had a midi/maxi dress which I decided to cut because long dresses just look silly on me. So I wanted it above my knees but I’ve gone too short, I didn’t consider my butt lifting the fabric up on the back. Is there anything I can do!
I’ve obviously got the fabric I cut off but I haven’t sewn since I was a teenager. And if I add back a bit of the fabric won’t it look a bit silly with just a random seam around the skirt?
I don’t know if I’m after some advice. I’m so angry with him right now.
I’m a SAHM to our 2.5 year old daughter, I do everything, he doesn’t lift a finger. He works hard as a mechanic I give him that, but when he gets home he doesn’t do a single thing.
He lays on the sofa on his phone and he’s in his own world all the time. My daughter is always mammy do it mammy this mammy that, I don’t get a break. Not even when I shower, he brings her into the bathroom if she’s freaking out because I’ve gone upstairs. And I put this down to him not be present in the room with us, he’s constantly on his phone so I feel like she doesn’t even bother to engage with him or want him as much as she wants me.
The argument started today because he booked yesterday and today off on holidays to spend with us for the 6 weeks holidays. He decided to have a 2 hour nap on the sofa today and then once he wakes up he takes himself upstairs and I catch him laying in bed on his phone, so I said right come on then you don’t do anything let’s go start food. And he took offence to me saying “he doesn’t do anything” I did reiterate that I meant when he’s at home he doesn’t do anything.
We argued back and fourth, he always says he works all day, so I said “ok so I don’t work, being a sahm isn’t work” he said “it’s different” so I said “yes the only difference is you get paid and I don’t and you get to clock out and I don’t” which is true, he doesn’t give me weekly money, my bank account is 0. He turned back around and said “well yeh it is work but it’s not as hard”..I’m sorry but anyone who’s been a sahm knows how mentally and physically draining and hard it can be!! Especially when you don’t get help, especially when the whole work load of the house is on me and to bring up a toddler who constantly wants my full attention because you’re too busy on your phone!
I basically laughed at him and called him insulting he said he knows how hard it is because he’s done it.
I have a 7 year old step son who we have full custody of because his bio mum hurt him when he was a baby. So my partner lived with his mum with his son for about a year, but he had his mum there, his step dad and 4 brothers. He then moved into his own home with him so him saying “he knows it’s hard” is bullshit because even when he moved into his own home with him, mammy was coming over and doing his washing, cleaning the dishes and taking his son out etc.
I don’t get none of that! I’m cleaning up after 4 people all on my own all while trying to give my daughter everything she needs.
I told him at the end he’d better watch his mouth or I’ll walk, this man buys me a redbull everyday which is £2.85…and this man threatens to stop buying me redbulls as if my life fucking depends on it.
I am seriously drained, I cried earlier because my daughter was having a tantrum over nothing and she kicked me in the eye and he just stood there watching, I had to ask him to take her out the room so I could gather myself. I am literally at the end of my tether, I’m running on empty every single day and I am losing my happiness right infront of his eyes and he just watches me.
And please don’t give me shit saying “he works” I know this, and I appreciate it and I openly say to him how hard he works but this man can’t even pick up his fucking socks or his dirty pants off the bathroom floor. This man takes his socks off in the living room and throws them across the room like a child and leaves them there until I do it. He doesn’t know what a fucking bin is, any jobs I ask him to do like change the bin he says he’ll do it later and days go by and it’s still not done so I do it and he literally watches me do it. Like, if that was me, someone had asked me to do a job and I still hadn’t done it and then the other person started doing it I’d feel like such a dick, but I don’t think he does!
I feel like I’m parenting 3 children, not two! And right now, he can’t even look at me or speak to me, he’s told me to fuck off and gone to lay in bed. The kids haven’t even eaten.
I’m fucking drained, what am I meant to do with a man like this? Are all men like this? Is this the era we’re living in, going back to the 50’s?
I’m F26 and my partner is M29, he has a 7 year old son who we have full custody of and I have been in his life since he was 3, and we share a daughter who is almost 2.5.
I always said I wanted two children of my own that have come from my body, and after my daughter was born it was still true (although I had a difficult pregnancy) I still knew I wanted two. I said I wanted them close in age so I was going to come off contraception last September so we could start trying but I never bothered because I was quite overwhelmed with my daughter and didn’t think I could manage her and a newborn.
I have been saying to my partner I want another baby now, and I have said I would get my contraception removed tomorrow if he agreed but he doesn’t. He mentions money, which I understand but we’d make it work, we worried about money when I found out I was pregnant with our daughter but we did it. We already have all the main furniture like a next to me crib, high chair, newborn play mat etc. so I don’t think it would be that much of a stress, I kept all my daughters newborn clothes so if we were to have another girl she’d have everything.
I have said before I feel like it’s unfair because he’s got his two children and he’s content but I want two of my own. I know he’s my step son and I don’t treat him any differently to my daughter but he’s not mine. We have the best relationship, I have watched and helped him grow up from the age of 3, I have turned up for him unlike his biological mother (who can only have supervised contact) I go to all his school shows and sports days.
Does anyone have any advice on being the partner who wants another baby but the other isn’t ready yet?
Why do I have to be the one to wait for him to be ready? Am I being unfair by saying that? I know he does want one just not yet, but I don’t want a big age gap
I posted this in a different community of mums and all I got was hell saying I’m unfair to my stepson for saying he’s not mine. I was only speaking factual, and scientifically, saying I wanted to birth another child. I did not give birth to my stepson, I was not waking up 4 times in a night to breastfeed. I love my step son, he is amazing with his sister. I’m just hoping this is a better community to bring this up to as we’re all stepmums who can maybe see where I’m coming from.
Thanks in advance ❤️
My daughter is mixed so her hair is different textures and she has 2 maybe 3 different curl patterns. The curls underneath are quite coarse and tight white the top is looser and more my hair texture.
I just want some products recommendations, I want to try different things to find the best that works for her.
She is currently using the ‘Onlycurls Little curls’ range which include a shampoo, conditioner, leave in detangling conditioner (which I don’t really rate) and a leave in styler.
We have previously used ‘MyLittleCoco’, Kids Cantu is too heavy on her curls, I have used nalas oil but it just leaves her hair looking greasy.
I used to braid her hair and use Eco Gel but she is at the age where she won’t sit still for long enough and runs off screaming as soon as she sees me open her hair draw. I bought beads, clips and cute bobbles to make it exciting but the novelty wore off (it didn’t last long) 😂
She won’t wear a bonnet to bed so I do need to invest in a good silk pillow case so at the moment most days her hair ends up in a bun/pony tail to avoid matting and tantrums.
I just want her beautiful curls out, not wrapped up in a bun 🤗
This photo was taken on the weekend, freshly washed and styled using the OnlyCurls little curls range and I always leave her hair air dry.
Would also be nice to hear what curl type you think she has, I think she is 3a/3b
Thank you in advance ❤️
My daughter is nearly 2.5 years old, I didn’t bother sending her to flying start because I didn’t really see the point in it for 2 hours and I thought family life is more important.
She turns 3 in March so I’d need to apply for her to go to nursery around Xmas time. But to be completely honest I don’t know what I want to do…at the moment she is socialised as I take her to play groups, she has a cousin who is 10 months younger than her who she sees twice a week. Every Tuesday and Friday we spend the day down my parents house so she has quality time with them twice a week, and I think if she starts school all of this will come to an end and the only times she’ll see them is weekends or school holidays which makes me sad because family is so important to me.
She is well educated, she speaks well, she knows her colours and numbers, she is also starting to learn her ABC’s and she knows most shapes. So the way I look at it is, what more could she learn in nursery that she couldn’t learn at home with me.
But there is a part of me that feels like I’ll be doing her an injustice by not sending her until she is 5. All these other children will make their friend groups and get used to the routine of going to nursery and then I feel like I’ll be chucking her into the deep end sending her later on.
I just want to spend as much time with her as possible before she starts school, but I don’t know if I’m being selfish.
She is a confident and chatty little girl, she easily makes friends whenever we go out so I don’t think she’d struggle. She is still very attached to me.
I’d just like some insight from other parents who may have waited until their child was 5 and what pros and cons you faced.
Thanks in advance ❤️
(Just to clarify, I am aware she won’t be exactly 5, she will be just under 4.5 it’s just the age I had in my head, as when I picture reception I picture 5 year olds 😂)
Since I’ve updated my optics have been so bad, for some reason when I look down my scope it goes blurry, best way to describe it is like heatwaves, they move.
It starts doing it at 29m, any suggestions? Is there something in my settings I can change?
It’s starting to frustrate me! I’m struggling to see enemy from afar!
Thanks in advance ❤️
Hi, I’m a SAHM, I have a 28 month old girl. Shes very strong willed and feisty which I love about her and I wouldn’t want to change it. She hits all her milestones and is well ahead of a lot of things. I don’t have her in flying start because I don’t really see the point in it, they’re still baby’s at this age and the most important thing is being with family.
I exclusively breastfed and I still breastfeed now for nap times and bed time, which to be honest. I think I’m done with but I’m struggling to get her off. That’s a different problem though.
My main struggle is her tantrums and how I handle them, I feel like such a bad mum because I can’t seem to regulate myself. Her tantrums are so explosive, she’s always had hell of a set of lungs on her, but the loud high pitch screams really trigger me, they frustrate me and I feel myself getting angry. I try to make space between us so I can have a breather but she follows me around screaming.
I always thought when the midwives would tell you before leaving the hospital if you need a break make sure baby is safe and go sit somewhere quiet with a cup of tea and I always thought ‘I’m not going to leave me baby when they need me the most’ but now I sort of understand what they mean by it. I think one of the issues is she doesn’t want my partner, if he tries to step in she screams more and he sort of gives up because she wants me.
I end up shouting at her, which I told myself early on I wouldn’t do but I get so annoyed and then I feel guilty that she’s having a hard time and I shout at her. The tantrums can be over the smallest of things.
During the tantrum she starts asking for a hug or a cuddle which I do, but during that and after I can sort of feel myself shutting down, and I sort of switch off, so once the tantrum is over and she’s happy and talking to me I still feel quite annoyed so I shut down.
I know the toddler stage is hard for some people but I can’t help to feel like I’m doing something wrong. My mum always says “it’s normal, this is exactly what you and your sister were like” but I’m the youngest in the family so I haven’t really been around a lot of babies/toddlers so I can’t help but feel like somethings wrong, like it’s not normal for her to get this angry.
I just don’t want to do anything that can damage her, other times we have the most fun, I love that she loves me and wants me and I’m her safe space, but she really tests my sanity.
I forgot to mention, we have co-slept since she was 4 weeks old. She has her own bed next to mine and my partners but she does climb into bed to breastfeed, mostly in the mornings.
I’m just looking on some advice to help me and my daughter. How can I stop feeling so annoyed, frustrated and angry when she gets so irate, how can I help her when she gets like this? I’ve tried to diverting her attention to something else like let’s go do painting or colouring, I take her out our garden for fresh air, I’ve tried putting her feet or hands in cool water and nothing really stops it, once she’s in that frame of mind it’s hard to get her out.
Thankyou in advance ❤️
