Transferring of Miles/Points

I recently got the Atmos ascent card and I’m new to Atmos and need advice. Here’s my situation and then the question.
My sister has been in Alaska Airlines rewards for years and she did extensive flying over that time. Now she has over 100k miles and would like to transfer it to me. We obviously live in different households and I have heard that transfer rules are different for those who have been with Alaska Airlines for years. Is this possible and how can you do it?
Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Transfers Question

I’m setting up monthly transfers out of my E*TRADE savings account to another bank account I just opened. I jumped through all the hoops necessary and now it’s all set up for transfers. My question is will the transfer shows up as an ACH transfer or something else?
E*TRADE was no help with this question. I hope someone knows.

Chases Pre Approval Question

As you can guess I got a question about the preapproval tools. Before I get in that, let me just give you a little background. I opened a synchrony one Pay in January. I follow that by opening an Alaska Airlines Atmos card and the CSP in early May. i’m moving away from cashback to travel and that is the reason for the velocity of CCs.
My FICO score is between 807 and 820 depending where I look.
Now to the question, when I went to the preapproval tool, it asked me to sign in. After I signed in, it sent me to my Chase app and showed seven or eight cards for me to choose from. I’m thinking of getting either the Hyatt card or the United card.
Does this mean I’m preapproved because it just sends me straight to the application? The website that transferred me there said there’s no hard pull on your credit. It takes me straight to the page saying I’m applying for the card.
I’m not worried about the hard pull, if I’m truly preapproved.

Insight from Those Who Prefer to Tip w/Cash

It has been a while since I’ve been on a cruise and I’m seeing gratuities everywhere. I know people will do automatic gratuities but I like to tip with cash to those that I see doing a good job.
My questions have to do more with how you approach this, give envelopes, how much cash should bring? Etc??
I’m not trying to be cheap here, but I’m not ready to subsidize the cruise line either. I’m ok with 18% if they deserve it.
Give me your thoughts.

Oh That Warm and Fuzzy Feeling You Get When You Hit SUB

I originally got the CSP 5 days before they upped the bonus from 75k to 100k. I was able to call customer service and get the whole hundred and it showed up today.
I’m smiling 😊

Cross Atlantic/Pacific Cruises

I was doing some research and I came across several cross ocean cruises. I think the range was between 15 days to 25 days. What surprise me was the price of some of the inside state rooms. One was just under 1700 per person 25 days. Interesting. Affordable.
Here’s my question, do you think I would have cabin fever on a 25 day cruise with an inside state room? Anyone who done this, or has a recommendation please toss it out there. Strategies?

Confused if I am at 5/24?

I am a little confused about Chase’s 5/24 rule. Here’s my situation.
I opened my first account in 4 years in January ‘26 OnePay and then two in May ‘26 CSP and Alaska Air Atmos. All three were in my name with my wife being an AU.
My wife got two cards in June CSP and CFF. I am an AU on both accounts.
I’ve always been under the impression that the rule applies only if you’re the primary. I took a deeper dive into my credit report and I show up there even though I’m an AU. I really don’t care if it shows up on my report or not with the only exception being if this might affect the next card I’m looking for. My FICO is 805-820 depending where I look. Both the cards I’m considering are Chase.
Dumb question, am I already at 5/24?

Who is Going to Use Paze When the Promo is Over?

It occurred to me today that I will have no use for Paze once the promo is over. I have Apple wallet and I store my cards there.
Once this promotion is over, I just wondered how many people will continue to use Paze?
Apple, wallet, PayPal, etc. are so user-friendly. Paze is not. It’s clunky and time consuming.
Do you think the banks will find this a profitable endeavor?
Give me your thoughts.

Chops plus Your Choice

My wife and I are going on a nine day Alaska cruise and I’m looking at our dining options. It has been a long time since I’ve cruised and wondering what the consensus is about the chops plus your choice dinner package.
The last time I cruised there were no special dining rooms for pay, and the MDR was the the place to be. I imagine the MDR will still be quite nice but what do you think about that package? Which other dining room would you pair with it? I have plenty of time to wait and I’m watching the Royal price tracker. My cruise is not until September of next year so I got time. At what price would you snap up this package?
Any insight is appreciated.

Don’t know why I thought of this today

Like the header says, I don’t know why I thought about this today. It made me smile and I hope it does the same for you.
Before I retired, I had a job that required a lot of traveling along with going to different conventions. Some of the equipment I sold was rather heavy and sensitive.
I had been using FedEx freight on my well boxed/crate machines outgoing shipments so I arranged shipping to Las Vegas for the convention. I rented a truck in a trailer and arranged to pick up my shipment at the FedEx docks to avoid some drayage fees.
I made a very large mistake for my return shipment. I had no place to store my boxes for shipment back or maybe I was just being lazy but I threw away all the packaging.
When I returned on a Saturday morning to drop my stuff off at the FedEx dock for return back to the warehouse I had everything sitting on a couple palletsand tied down with not much else to protect the shipment. There was one guy who was accepting my shipment, but said he can’t go out like that. I put myself at his mercy and boy did he go out of his way to find cardboard, some stray boards and some binding material to protect the return shipment. Got his name, we shook hands, and I didn’t think much about it after that.
About a month later, the rep from FedEx was doing her rounds and I told her the story. She recommended I send an email to the head office saying what a good job he did and how much help he was.
Next year rolls around, same convention, same deal, I get my rental truck and trailer and show up at the FedEx docks. I see the guy from FedEx and he comes running at me and calls me by name. I am a little confused how he would remember me. He tells me he couldn’t forget me for what I did.
Seems when I sent that email it made its way up the chain and he was singled out as the sole winner for an award for employees who go above and beyond their duties. First prize was an all expense paid weekend, flights, hotel (the famous one with the ducks who Parade around) food and everything else included. He let me know that he never had a honeymoon and him and his wife had been married for five years. He had tears in his eyes as he thanked me for giving him and his wife honeymoon they never had. I had no idea that email would affect him so much. Needless to say I had a friend in Vegas for years.
Thanks for letting me share.

Hot Tub Question

My wife and I haven’t cruised for a long time but when we did we always enjoyed the use of the hot tubs. Our cruise is on Anthem of the Sea for Alaska.
Here’s my question, when are the hot tubs less crowded? We enjoy the time that we get there but not if the place is crowded. What’s a good strategy or am I just barking up the wrong tree?
Thanks for your thoughts

• Income: e.g. $75,000
• Average monthly spend and categories:

• Do you have any cards you've been looking at?
Marriott Bonvoy Chase and possibly AX
Hyatt card

• Are you OK with category spending or do you want a general spending card?
Yes

I’m fairly new in the travel side of the credit card business, but I’ve been doing cashback for a while. I don’t wanna push my luck too much but I have a trip planned for next year and traveling seems to be somewhat in the works for the next few years.
I’m looking at which card makes the most sense to pair with what I got within the hotel system. Bonvoy gives a lot of points, but I don’t know if they’re worth that much. My CSP can transfer at one to one to Hyatt until October. I don’t know if that would influence anything.
I’m not quite sure if I wanna venture into the AX ecosystem just yet, but give me your thoughts.

When Does Cash back outweigh UR pts?

I’m trying to save for a big trip and I keep seeing things in my email for cash back bonuses. I have the CSP and both CFU and CFX. I also got a wallet full of $$back cards.
I value the Chase UR pts to more than a penny but then I get an email today offering 5% on groceries on my Prime card. I can’t turn a blind eye to this promo.
My question is, when does cash back trump UR for you??

VIO Bank New Customer hysa

I looked around after my cd matured and came across bio Bank. At the time the savings account was paying similar to short term CDs. I didn’t wanna put all my money in there so I did a test at 250 bucks.
I downloaded the app and kept my eye out for the available balance to show up.
After it showed up I tried to transfer more money and the app said there’s no external account to connect to. Didn’t the money come from somewhere?
Called customer service and to their credit they answered the phone quickly and explained that the current app can’t transfer money from an external account. Only between internal accounts. I was informed there will be a new app coming in September that will bring it up to 2020s standards. He explained that I could access by computer or use a browser on my mobile. I do all my banking mobile now.
I hop on my safari browser and get on the website. I plug in my info and….. Same problem. I call again. Quick pickup and explained what I have already done and I get my second tip. Don’t use safari to sign in. Use chrome or Firefox
I changed browsers and Boom. I can do stuff!
I can live with clunky apps especially since they will overhaul the app this September. I will pop a few bucks back and forth until I feel 100% comfortable but I was impressed with CS and that’s the only reason I’m sticking around.

Changing CC Strategy again. Couple Questions

I had to rebuild my credit after a hiking accident and hospital bills put me in bankruptcy. I started out with the Capital One secure card built myself up to get a normal credit card and then got into the cashback credit cards as my credit profile got better and better.
I’m currently sitting at about 810 credit score with aggregated CL over $100k and utilization under 3%. Now I have accumulated a ton of cards that served a purpose at the time.
I’ve decided to go with the Chase ecosystem for travel purposes and have a CSP, CFU and CF flex. I have a big trip coming up, our 50th anniversary and I’ve taken advantage of recent bonuses and my Good credit to pump up UR account.
Now that I am focusing there, I don’t necessarily wanna lose all my credit cards but some just don’t serve a purpose anymore. I feel like closing the lot of them but that ain’t necessarily wise. I just hate juggling things around so each card gets some love.

Here’s what I got:
CSP, CFU and CFflex.
Alaska Airlines Atmos Ascent. Got recent bonus of 80k pts and companion ticket. I’m keeping these 4 for the foreseeable future.

Other cards:
Disc it. No balance
Citi Custom Cash no balance
WF Active Cash no balance
WF Autograph no balance
Cap1 QS my oldest card no balance
Cap1 Savor no balance
Chase Prime cc useful for free shipping and prime video. Small balance.
One Pay (Walmart cc) No balance.

All my CC charges are going to the top four CCs mentioned and the rest of the cards just sit there. I can’t afford to close all seldom /rarely used CCs but canning 3 or 4 would not hurt my feelings. I’m afraid some might get closed for inactivity and I’d rather be the one making those decisions.

Which would you keep for the future?
Which should I ditch? Thanks for any advice.

Paze - Has This happened to Anyone Else?

I recently linked my wife’s CSP to Paze. Yesterday I got to Wendy’s and paid with Paze and went through the authentication process. No problem.
I look at the account for CSP and there is the charge for Wendy’s but I saw no Paze 10 buck credit.
I go on our Cap1 app and lo and behold there is our credit on my wives Savor card.
CSP gets the bill and Savor gets the credit. How does this happen???
