From prohibited Cromwellian lutes, to the sort of modern, shapely guitar as used by Paul McCartney in Jet...

The full gamut...

If misplaced apostrophes and singular-sold multipack cans infuriate Alan, how do you think he'd react to this 'word' of the day?

IT'S CLEARLY SIX WORDS! IT'S AN IDIOM!

Although I wouldn’t put that past you, some sicko would probably buy that! An airship with a giant arse, or a plane in a giant bra having a slash on an airport!

You send off for an MOT and you get a note back saying they found some chap’s ribs in the oil sump

Or you take the lid off the gear knob and find a testis.

It's official! Ricky Gervais couldn't present a cat!

His new programme idea, a badly animated cat sitcom, and not a single one of the comments are positive.

Clearly said to the BBC, "If you don't do it, Netflix will".

It's funny, when friends of mine come to the Oasthouse, they say "It's quite small, isn't it? How come it cost you so much?". I just point out the window and say, "Are you blind? That doesn't come cheap".

"Look at what your house backs onto, a primary school! Mine backs on to that!".

And they say "Oh, I like the sound of children playing!" and I just shoot straight back - with a chuckle, with a chuckle - "You're a liar! What's your problem?! Why does it cause you so much pain to admit to the unremarkable fact that I have a better house than you?!".

Would you share the password for all your accounts after you die?

Or maybe not ALL of them, but I was thinking about my Steam library and how viable it would be to share the account details on my will for passing it on.

But you're dead. What do you care? Would you let people browse your social media and email history?

That was a conference which we set up. We looked into its operation and closed it down again. It was inoperable

Finally finished [KCD2], yes that ending brought tears.

Gaze upon my stats. And now I need to install KCD1 and put a lot of things in context.

Loved the game completely, it turned out to be the "really meaty RPG that can get fully settled into and absorbed in", since I couldn't really vibe with Baldur's Gate 3 as much as I wanted to.

I fully intend to do a modded playthrough and even attempt hardcore. I'm not done with the game at all, but it will have to lay fallow until winter.

The bit I'm most looking forward to is bringing my KCD2 improved swordplay into the earlier game... and then get fully trounced because a lot of my later game sword skills were down to the perks. 🤣

Behold! My first Irish Spice... Plate

Cooked at home, as its customary, ever so slightly tipsy. Lidl skin on chips, chicken nuggets, one red onion and one green pepper, plus a generous sprinkling of chili salt and Chinese curry sauce from the little tubs of roux.

Taste sensation! It absolutely hits the spot. 😋
