As the title implies I'm pretty open to any kind of games and would love to find people who are into online or couch gaming, or to try out the minigolf at FunLand Chico!
I'm specifically into Phasmaphobia, co-op puzzle games, racing/party games, and really any casual competitive stuff. I can play MOBAs like SMITE or League but I will not be the best. I do play on PC and Switch, and board games are great!
As for the mini golf, well I've just never been and I want to try it out.
I am currently growing an arthropod terrarium and I also have kittens so if you're into animals that's cool we can talk about that too!
What do you guys think of this one? Did you receive the email if you ever used Lifestance Health to book an appointment or do you know if this is legitimate? The link to the website is here: https://lifestancepixelsettlement.com/
So there is an ordinance banning the sales and distribution of kratom in my city, yet there is no definition of distribution given. I wonder if anyone has any tips on shipping kratom and its legality to cities that have this ban?
Article 1: OSF | Hyper-Associative Cognition: Rethinking Attention, Trauma, and the ADHD-PTSD Continuum
Article 2: The link between dissociative tendencies and hyperassociativity
Article 1 explains how people with trauma and ADHD make more connections. This hyperassociativity arises from the need to check everywhere in the environment at once in order to survive. The building up of walls around memories and emotions known as compartmentalization can lead to its opposite once certain stressors break those barriers down. Decompartmentalization may appear like mood swings but it is instead the flood gates being broken down that previously kept all our emotions separated. This causes intrusive thoughts, emotional flooding, rapid associative jumps, and an incapacity "to control what enters, stays out, and how associations form."
Interesting paragraph here: "Many trauma-informed adults describe their experience not as “poor focus” but as having too many mental channels open simultaneously. They are not spacing out; rather, they are managing layers of thought, emotion, memory, and vigilance. Their minds are processing, connecting, and reacting to multiple inputs in real-time (Van der Kolk, 2014).
This is not random chaos; it is nonlinear overload—a mind that was once expertly sealed now running without gates (Bessel van der Kolk, 2014)."
In Article 2 it is explained that hyperassociativity is correlated to the depersonalization aspect of dissociation. In creating such far fetched associations, the personal connection to memory suffers, making one feel disconnected from the connections they make. Essentially you are dropping your anchor that tells you what is real and important, so that you can quickly adjust the idea of what is real and important in an unpredictable environment.
Not only is it not fresh, tasting of dust and ash on the inside and smelling slightly off, but the seasoning always tastes like the chemicals.
What works? The thighs. Just get chicken thighs on the 4 for $20 deal and a good set of ground spices and bbq sauce and you're good to go. Works out to around $5-10 per meal me when you account for rice and veggies.
I have a problem which is most easily solved if the app starts as if I just got it for the first time, but it's assuming a directory/folder that I put initially and even if I change it to something else, the program that I want to start will not start because of this error: The sample relocation folder does not exist. Please choose OK to choose a new location or Cancel to ignore this. Problem is, this notification just doesn't work, I have to close it every time.
I have deleted the temp and %localappdata% as well.
For some reason sharp lines are just annoying to look at. I'm better with amorphous blobs and gradual transitions because lines take on the light of the surroundings so it's as if every line is emitting light. Often times they take on different colors too. Right now the corner of my wall is a red and yellow line overlapping each other.
I would say static isn't even the biggest part of my visual snow- it's the random light and expressions of color that effectively turn every object into a custom RGB light. 😂 And then the afterimages remain so that when I stare into the general space of an area I just see blurred light and lines of light from walls that I'm not looking at. How could I possibly get afterimages of light from an object that doesn't make light? 😅
I was adopted from birth, so I don't really know my birth parents. I don't care to know them either.
Things in my family are just weird, and always have been. As a kid I did end up being told I was adopted pretty young. I guess I always felt like a burden, constantly misunderstood, and treated like an animal. It's not that they didn't care for me, because they did make sure I was well off and even secured college funds for me. It's just that, I don't recall ever being seen as a person. I was diagnosed with autism early on, and it was always used as a scapegoat for why I am unable to do certain things or act a certain way. Whenever I'd breakdown I'd just be spanked as a kid, put in timeout, etc. if I said something or asked something unusual I'd be scolded, and often times just told to be quiet. I thought I was a bad person for having outbursts and never really knew what my parents wanted from me. I just dissociated after age 12 after the last outburst caused me to almost fight both my parents. I decided from there on that there was nothing I could do to be understood, so just dissociate. Fast forward to now, I live alone now. I have space to look back on these things and, I just don't get it. I don't get why I am treated like an animal. Why do my emotions just get pushed down because I am autistic. My sister and older brother always would jump on the bandwagon as my mother and refuse to speak to me without bringing up the word "autism". It is such things that leave me wondering why I am here in this family.
I also question the motives for my adoption in the first place. They lost their child in a miscarriage due to genetic chance, upon which they decided they wouldn't try to have a child naturally anymore (though they did with my younger sister by accident). According to my mother, not long after she saw a ghost child that looked like me. That story never made any sense to me. To this day it creeps me out, and I just don't know if I feel better knowing that this is the reason they adopted me for. It just feels like they wanted to get away as much as possible from their grief and decided the best thing was to adopt a child. I wouldn't consider this the case if they treated me well and put time and effort into parenting me instead of punishing or ridiculing me for every little thing I do.
All I know is that, I am done. I want to rip away from this. I can't fully until I'm financially independent. But no matter what I do, I feel I will never be seen.
