Explain Ulta points to me like I’m 5 😭🤣

Okay, someone explain this to me like I’m in kindergarten 🤪

I had $375 worth of Ulta points and placed an order using $86 worth of points. After the purchase, my points value dropped to $253.

But $375 − $253 = $122, not $86. 🤔

I immediately canceled the order (successfully), and it’s been about 30 minutes, but none of the points have been restored yet. I contacted customer service and they said the points from the canceled order could take up to 7 business days to come back.
I understand the delay in getting the points back but what I don’t understand is why using $86 in points caused my points value to drop by $122 in the first place.

Can someone explain why the dollar value of my points changed like that? Is it because redeeming points changes the value of the remaining points?

Trying to view messages in portal - what am I doing wrong?

I am able to view messages from my clinical care team on my portal. But for some reason there's no option to switch to the customer service section. Cherry had sent me a message, but I can't find it lol is there some other area I should be going to view messages from customer service? I tried clicking "help & support" thinking maybe it would take me to those messages, but it just opened up a new email to send to them. Would appreciate any help from you guys!

Heads up on autopay

I selected the autopay option after paying $75. I was approved for my refill and sent an email confirmation that i would be auto charged. I logged on to the portal and it was asking me to make my payment. For some reason the autopay wasn’t done. So I just paid directly to that link and it’s all good. But I just want to give people a heads up to double check the portal to make sure you don’t have to manually pay like I did.

What goes on behind the scenes of a 3 year disability review?

I recently completed my 3 year SSDI continuing disability review, and the process was very different from what I remember when I was on SSDI years ago.
Back in 2016 I received a thick paper packet. I had forms to complete, and someone who knew me and my daily functioning also had to fill out a separate questionnaire (my disability is for mental health conditions).

This time, everything was electronic. Which is great I’m not complaining at all. They only asked me to provide the name and contact information for someone who knows about my condition and daily functioning, but it didn’t say whether that person would actually be contacted or asked to complete any forms. I also provided all of my doctors’ information, diagnoses, medications, and treatment history.

I’m curious what actually happens behind the scenes after I submit everything.

Does the person I listed usually receive forms to complete? If so, are they sent electronically or by mail and how are they notified?

For medical records, especially with mental health disabilities, how much information does social security typically request? Do they receive and review things like therapy session notes or just treatment summaries and psychiatric records?

I recently moved so I have a new therapist and psychiatrist who don’t know me very well yet. I did provide information for my previous providers who have years of records. Is that generally enough? Or should I expect social security to rely more heavily on my current providers?

I’m just trying to understand what happens after the paperwork is submitted. I’d appreciate hearing from anyone who’s been through a recent review or who has experience with the process.

What changed in the calculations?

I am on SSDI and have been since 2022. I always qualified for the maximum benefit amount ($298). I just had my renewal and I’m now receiving $24 a month starting in August. WHAT?! Nothing has changed. Not my income, not my rent. They do not take into consideration any bills other than rent. Therefore, it looks like I have more money than I do. What am I supposed to do with $24 a month? I can barely last three weeks on the maximum benefit amount. Does this have something to do with the OBBBA? I’m just so confused and now kind of panicked about where I’m going to get food next month. Did something change in the calculations?

Edit: I am in California, LA County

Edit: Figured it out. When I moved counties my rent decreased. The last few months I was still under my old counties plan. Apparently I now make too much to qualify for any more than $24. Thank you everyone for helping me!

Edit again: No people I did not forget I moved. I provided them with my new address and lease as soon as I moved. However, apparently they only applied it to my Medi-Cal case not my SNAP. I was under the impression LA county had my new rental amount and applied it to both but they did not. Now that my new rent is part of my breakdown I do get it. Also not necessary to DM me.

Dysport for crows feet

Got tox for my crows feet for the first time two weeks ago. Super happy with the results. I also noticed that I don’t have a heavy feeling around my eyes like I do when I get my forehead done so that was a nice surprise. I was worried it would feel awkward around my eyes and it did not.

Has anyone been given their offer for 26/27 GradPLUS aid?

Basically what the title says. I’m fully aware that there are delays due to the OBBBA. I’m just wondering if any grad students (masters and doctoral) have been given their GradPLUS loan offer? Did the OBBBA change how much you got? I’ve been budgeting based on the aid I had last year but I’m starting to become concerned the more posts I read. My school also told me I only have 6 consecutive “terms” before no more GradPLUS and I’m still trying to figure out what they mean by terms since my school is on a quarter system.

Charged a fee to receive money

I have had PayPal forever but never used it to receive money. I recently traded in my cell phone when I upgraded. They sent me the money for it but I was charged $10.08 just to receive it (total refund was $337 before fee). Couple of questions. First, has PayPal always done this or is it new? Second, why exactly am I paying a fee? I understand a fee to withdraw, but to receive? I’m honestly confused. Had I known, I would have requested a paper check.

Need recommendations for gyno at Kaiser for peri

I recently moved to LB from the Bay Area and am looking for a recommendation of a gyno at Kaiser. I am currently on HRT for peri and went through a battle in NorCal to get it prescribed. I have been on it since the end of 2024 and it has changed my life for the better. A lot of Kaiser doctors still follow old standards and refuse to prescribe it. Instead of wasting my time being randomly assigned to a doctor, does anyone see one that prescribes HRT for them (for peri)? I have enough refills of my HRT to last me 9 more months so I’m not worried about that. I’d just really like to establish care at Kaiser with someone who understands what I’m experiencing.

Update on the neighbor slamming her door

I had posted on here previously about a neighbor slamming her front door so loud it made my windows rattle. I ended up writing a really friendly note (went out of my way to be cheerful) asking for her to be more mindful when closing her door. I also mentioned it may be the closer on the door or a draft so she wouldn’t think I’m blaming her. Well that backfired. I heard her tip the note down and crinkle it up. Then when she came home she slammed her door louder than normal. I have no idea why a person would do this? We’ve had no other interactions other than hello. If I was rattling someone’s windows I would feel so bad and be as mindful as possible. But now it seems like she’s slamming out of spite. Not sure what I can do at this point.

Does anyone know why the B1G1 50% off isn’t applying? I went all the way to checkout and it never applied. I tried last night and just now. Am I doing something wrong?

Slamming of door

I have a neighbor that for whatever reason allows her front door to slam so hard that it rattles my windows. I moved in to this place back in March and didn’t want to ruffle any feathers. But it’s getting to the point where she comes home from the bar at 2am and slams it so loud it wakes both my dog and I up.

Having lived in apartments for over 25 years I have learned to be respectful of slamming doors and gates. I make sure when I close my front door to turn the knob so it doesn’t slam. It honestly boggles my mind how she is so oblivious to how loud it is.

We do not speak really other than to say excuse me when we run into each other. She doesn’t give me the friendly neighbor vibe so I’m not really inclined to speak to her in person. If I was to write a note, how exactly should I word it to not cause unwanted drama? Or do I just deal with the slamming and rattling as is?

Dysport Update!

It’s been two weeks since my first dysport injections and I’m wondering why I didn’t do this sooner!! I had no idea how deep my lines were until they were gone. I had 32 units done in my forehead and 11s. I went to a nurse practitioner at a med spa and she said she wanted to be conservative. I have hooded eyes and she was concerned if she put the tox above my eyebrows that they would drop. So the second photo is to show how I can still raise my eyebrows. Please ignore the cut on my forehead lol I would highly recommend tox now to anyone who wants to look less tired. That’s what I’m noticing the most. Not just looking “younger,” but less tired. I am in love with the results!

Dysport Results

It’s been 14 days since my first Dysport injection and I am super pleased! I am glad she left some movement above my eyebrows so they didn’t flatten out. I have hooded eye lids so she was concerned it would cause more hooding if she injected there. So I’m still able to raise my eye brows! Ignore the cut on my nose lol

SSDI Causing Loss of Chime Prime

I receive SSDI and it is scheduled for the second Wednesday of every month. Chime will get the money in my account the Friday before. Next month that is 7/3. That’s fine. But then in August it isn’t scheduled until 8/14 because the beginning of the month falls on a Saturday. That’s 42 days in between. Which means I’ll lose my Chime Prime correct?

I have a significant amount in my savings because the interest is higher than BofA and Marcus which I also have. It’s unfortunate because I’m going to end up taking all my money out of Chime savings and transferring it somewhere else. How do they expect to keep customers if they rip our ability to gain interest on savings? Many people are on disability and are going to be screwed in August because of this.

OptioRX Timeline

Writing this post to give people some positive news about OptioRX orders. My last order was super slow so I didn’t expect much with my recent one.

I placed it last Sunday 5/31. I knew it was the weekend so I was not expecting to hear back right away. However, Monday morning 6/1 I had a message from my nurse about my dosage. I responded and on Thursday 6/4 got a very kind message from Josefa just following up. Yesterday, Monday 6/8 I was shocked that a UPS package was at my door. I recently moved and have not set up my UPS account so that’s on me.

I’m in California so it comes from Enovex Pharmacy. Ice packs were warm but that’s most likely because it was traveling over the weekend. I’m not concerned about it since the meds are stable for days at extremely high temps. It came with plenty of syringes and alcohol wipes.

So in total it was 8 days from when I paid the $75 to when the meds were at my door.

Thank you Pom!!! 🙏

Question about being a Guardian

I have some extra money this month so I did the one time monthly donation to become a guardian. I had noticed this in my outfits the other day and was curious if it’s only for monthly donors? It did not activate after I had donated. I’m not upset I was just wondering if it has a minimum donation.
