bollard options for traffic control on mining sites what works best

im working on a mining site setup where we need better separation between heavy vehicles and foot traffic to keep things safe without slowing operations. the terrain and dust make standard options tricky so durability is key.

i put in some bollards around key zones and theyve held up well against the daily grind. what types or setups have worked best for you on aus mining sites and any tips on installation or materials that handle the conditions long term?

I think vets have one of the most emotionally difficult jobs people rarely talk about

Being a vet seems like one of those professions where you need medical knowledge, emotional control, patience, and communication skills all at once.

You’re dealing with animals that can’t explain what’s wrong, owners who are scared or emotional, and situations where people are often making decisions under stress.

Do I really need to see a dentist every 6 months or it's just protocol?

Regular dental visits weren't emphasized where I grew up. You went when something hurt, otherwise brushing was considered sufficient.

In the US now, I just found out it's strongly recommended to have dental checkups as frequently as twice a year!!! Is this genuinely necessary/normal?

I've never had major dental issues (30M), haven't needed fillings or anything, and so I figured maybe I should verify my teeth are still in good shape? The problem is, it's expensive even with dental coverage. And I'm hesitant because when you sign up with a new practice it seems like there's a lot of upfront costs (new patient exam, full mouth x-rays, comprehensive assessment, etc.....) which feels excessive EXCEPT I've read that dental offices sometimes push patients to come back more frequently if you're a regular patient at minimum twice yearly. Which means if I want to start going but on a less aggressive schedule (both for budget reasons but also simply because I don't think visiting every 6 months is necessary when my teeth have been fine?) I'd likely end up switching clinics periodically which would trigger the expensive "new patient" fees all over again...

My question is: how often do people realistically need dental checkups? Should I commit to annual visits (even with healthy teeth?) or is it acceptable to go less often, knowing that switching clinics every couple years (and paying new patient costs) might actually be more affordable than staying at one place <twice yearly.

For context preventive healthcare (like annual physicals at the GP) is not standard practice at all where I'm from. Which makes me question whether the emphasis on frequent dental visits here is genuinely for patient health or more about maintaining steady appointment volume...?

Allergies are such an unfair feature of the human body

Your body really sees harmless stuff like pollen, dust, or peanuts and goes:

“yes this is clearly a deadly threat”

Meanwhile actual dangerous things sometimes barely get a reaction

Seasonal allergies especially feel like having a permanent fake cold. Sneezing nonstop, itchy eyes, headaches, being tired for no reason… and people still say “it’s just allergies.”

shopping for a 2026 bentley flying spur v8 from the salon in denver but the numbers still feel high even with my strong credit

im seriously eyeing my first bentley and spent a full afternoon at bentley denver checking out a loaded 2026 flying spur v8 straight from the salon with every mulliner extra. dealer quoted 292k out the door at 4.9 percent over 72 months after my audi trade in but my credit union pre approved me at 3.8 percent so it stings.

with 215k income zero debt and 130k cash down im not sweating the payments but hate overpaying on something that holds value this well. bentley owners who negotiated hard lately what actual discount off msrp did you score and how long did the full process take from test drive to delivery?

thanks

▲ 3 r/email+1 crossposts

I recently read about repairing email sender reputation and I think this is what I need. A while ago, I used to run a small shop online, but I didn’t sell much, so decided to close it. A few weeks back, I started another small business and wanted to do some warmup, but realised my emails get into spam. I know this because I verified with other emails I have access to. What I think happened is that I did not do as much optimisation like I should have. Some emails bounce back, go into spam directly, or there is a very low engagement rate overall. I checked some other posts and seen that people who have a similar problem start rebuilding the volume they are sending, clean the email list properly, or remove contacts that don’t engage. Is this something I should do in my case, or is there anything else that could help my email sender repair issue? Is this even a thing or should I think of changing the domain altogether?

What is a simple pleasure that still feels secretly luxurious to you as an adult?

I bought myself a box of nice tea bags last week. Not loose leaf or anything fancy, just the kind that comes in a tin instead of a cardboard box. Every morning I open that little lid and the sound alone makes me feel like I have my life together. When I was a kid I thought luxury meant something huge like a pool or a private jet. Now it is just a quiet kitchen with a warm mug and no one needing anything from me for ten minutes.

What small everyday thing still makes you feel quietly rich even though anyone could afford it?

I’m building a big collection/playlists of house DJs from all over the world and right now I’m trying to find more artists from Latin America.

I already have DJs from places like Germany, South Africa, the UK, and Japan, but I realized I barely know any from countries like Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Brazil, Chile, etc.

Who are some house DJs from Latin America that you think deserve way more attention?

Could be underground or well known, I’m mainly looking for artists with really good sets and unique style.

I want more movies where nothing happens but everything matters

Found some indie film last night about two people walking through a city having a conversation for 90 minutes. No car chases, no villains, just dialogue. Finished it feeling calm instead of exhausted, which surprised me.

Does anyone have a recommendation for another quiet movie where the conflict stays small and human?

loneliness is strange because it doesn’t always mean being alone, sometimes you can be around people and still feel disconnected, like nobody really knows what’s going on in your head, it comes and goes and is hard to explain, for people who deal with it how do you usually cope or make it better?

I’ve been going through my playlists lately and noticed there are a few songs I just never get tired of, no matter how many times I play them. Even when I take breaks from them, I always end up returning.

For me, one example is Dreams by Fleetwood Mac. I don’t know what it is, but it just hits differently every time—super calm but also kind of uplifting at the same time.

What’s a song you always come back to no matter your mood or the time of year?

despite the fact that I manage to express my thoughts in english decently, I often get stuck mid-sentence because of nervousness. in addition, I tend to over-explain everything, especially when I am confused about something.

according to the Internet articles, visa interviewers are not interested in grammatical correctness. Instead, your confidence, consistency, and accuracy are the main requirements. any pauses may be interpreted as a lack of confidence and, accordingly, doubts regarding the veracity of your visa application.

in this regard, it is beneficial to speak aloud. I worked on improving my english skills using the permito ai, which records your speech and generates answers and additional questions after that. thus, it becomes apparent how fluent you are at the conversational level, considering that all communication implies the use of voice. from approximately session number 6 or 7, I stopped myself from filling gaps with redundant words and replied only to the question asked without any changes in accent.

to conclude, being a native speaker of a language that you will be learning for your visa interview will not be a determining factor for approval. you must be sure about the goal and dates of your visit.

I manage a small professional office building (about 2,500 sq ft) plus two retail units in the Short Pump area. We need consistent weekly service, floors, restrooms, dusting, trash removal, and periodic deep cleans for carpets and windows. After dealing with crews that kept changing, showed up late, or left half the job undone, I’m done with the headaches. Looking for a company that actually sticks to the schedule and keeps the spaces looking sharp for clients and customers.

Any real experiences with commercial cleaners in Richmond that deliver on ongoing contracts without drama? Prices and reliability matter most.

▲ 10 r/servers

I’ve been thinking about this after dealing with upgrades, downtime, and random maintenance on a small setup. Self-hosting gives full control, but it also takes time and some unexpected costs (power, hardware replacements, backups). On the other side, dedicated servers seem easier to manage and more predictable, but you lose some flexibility.

I recently read an article on server mania that breaks down cost predictability, and it made me question if the “cheaper” option is always true long term.

So for those who’ve tried both, would you do it the same way again, or switch? What made the biggest difference for you: cost, time, or reliability?

i used to think teaching was mostly about how well you can explain a topic. Know the material, organize it clearly, deliver it confidently—that kind of thing.

But in practice, that’s only a small part of it.

Most of the job is realizing that what you said and what students understood are rarely the same thing.

I've been doing yoga for a while now (mostly at home), but lately I feel like I've hit a bit of a plateau. My body feels good, but I don't feel like I'm improving much anymore.

I’m curious what helped you level up in your practice, both physically and mentally. Any small changes that make a big difference?
