What to do about (relatively) unhealthy snacks feeling like they're not worth it?

I still struggle with binge eating from time to time but before I started losing weight, I would just snack on anything whenever the fancy hit me, indomie, donuts, chocolate, chicken thighs, pork belly, bacon, ect.

Now if I have a serious craving for junk food, I can make space for it if I plan ahead, but after I have it, it just feels so underwhelming, I saved space for a Krispy Kreme donut today and the experience just didn't match the craving for me.

Best places to look for protein bar deals?

I sometimes get shorter shifts at work where I don't get a break, so by the time I get out, I'm starving, I'm looking for other foods to bring to snack on, protein bars being one of them.

I'm currently in a calorie deficit and working out so they'd be helpful in a pinch.

I know some stores do a single bar for £1 but are there any other methods to look for good deals in-person and online?

For people in the UK, what's the best choice for a low calorie chocolate base and are there any improvements I can make to mine?

I'm currently experimenting with my chocolate and I'm getting closer to a perfect pint for me but not quite there yet.

My normal milk base is either:

350g/400g Semi-skimmed milk

350g/400g Nutrio Semi-skimmed milk

350g/400g Alpro chocolate Soya milk.

The best base I've made used a chocolate protein shake but that's not sustainable for me to keep buying compared to milk + whey. I also still need to try the Alpro chocolate protein milk to see how it tastes.

My other ingredients:

15g cocoa powder

15g Malted Chocolate Milo powder

1/4 tsp xantham gum

1/4 tsp salt

10g white sugar

20g Sugarly

I normally heat the milk up before adding in the cocoa powder and hot chocolate powder, but even with my recipe now, it's nice, but I still feel like it's missing something.

I'm thinking of removing the cocoa powder for the chocolate soya milk base since it seems redundant.

Would adding in melted chocolate into the base help?

Is combining vanilla casein protein with other flavours worth it?

I've heard that the whey/casein blend seems to give the best texture for protein powder base recipes, if I was to get vanilla casein powder and keep the recipes to 1 scoop (29g).

Would splitting the protein flavour of choice (e.g. chocolate) in half with the casein still work, or would it dilute the flavour?

So to be clear, 14.5g of whatever flavour whey isolate, 14.5g of vanilla casein.

Or is the texture improvement even worth it in the first place?

Any recommendations for hot chocolate powder with malt extract?

I'm looking for a malted hot chocolate powder to test for an ice cream recipe, the only one I've tried before is Milo but I'd like to see other options.

Good lower calorie chocolate milk choices in the UK?

I've gravitated more towards chocolate base recipes, I've used;

A chocolate shake

Semi-skimmed milk + chocolate protein powder + black cocoa powder

Soya milk instead of semi-skimemd milk

Almond milk + Semi-skimmed milk

But I haven't tried chocolate milk yet.

The main reason I don't use protein shakes as my base is that it's not too sustainable for me to buy them in bulk compared to milk so I'm hoping chocolate milk would be a good compromise.

Anyone got snack or light meal suggestions for work?

Something that can either be eaten quickly, or have a few bites taken out of it occasionally.

I work as a barista and FOH.

I sometimes have shorter shifts at work where I don't get a lunch break but I'll still get pretty hungry near the middle or end of my shift, which means it's easier for me to buy food after my shift instead of waiting to eat back at home.

Even if I have a bigger breakfast with stuff like potatoes and beans, it only fills me up for about 3 hours or so.

Since I don't get a break, I can't sit down to eat whatever it is, I can usually only stand there for about 10-20 seconds before going back in.

I thought of something small like a protein bar but that wouldn't really make much of a dent.

Anyone got a good yoghurt and oats/granola recipe for the Creami?

I'm kind of a bit bored of it for breakfast, so I'm wondering if there's a Creami version that might be better suited for me.

For those who have trouble with impulse buying and spending, how do you either stop it, or mitigate it?

I have a problem with money where I'll feel the need to spend it on stuff I don't need, don't even desire that much, or I'll blindly spend it in "small" purchases over time that add up to say more when I look over my budget spreadsheet later.

How do you keep yourself financially responsible, or as close to responsible as you can be?

I'm getting really annoyed with sleep.

I've gotten used to sleeping late, around 23:00-01:00 and having to wake up at 06:00 for work, but it's still frustrating when I slog through the day tired, irritated and half awake because I can't shut my brain off.

I'm still not sure how much to blame on phone procrastination habits I've built up over the years, and how much to blame on ADHD, but there's a split.

I changed my bedding and pillowcases, I showered, I brushed my teeth, I shut my phone off, I laid down on a fresh sheet with no debris to irritate me, I closed my eyes for what felt like 30 minutes, I felt tired, I still feel tired.

But I'm still awake, and I know this isn't the optimal way to go to sleep; it was past 23:00, I had seen a bright screen right before I closed my eyes and I had a nap in the afternoon after work, but it's still so fucking frustrating that I just have to accept that my sleep will range from extraordinarily rare and lucky 8 hours of sleep that I get once every fucking solstice, and the much more common 4-6 hours of sleep because my brain won't shut off.

I have to be utterly mentally exhausted to fall asleep quickly, and guess what? I'll still wake up after 5-6 hours anyway, if I go to sleep properly, my internal clock wakes me at 06:00, if I go to bed late, my internal clock shuts off and I oversleep without an alarm.

I also get this fun ball of excitement and anxiety in my chest for no reason whatsoever, there is nothing happening and nothing that is going to happen, so where the fuck is this coming from?

Even if I sleep now, I still need to wake up by 06:30, so a little over 5 hours of sleep and another day of bumbling through the day with a reduced mental capacity for everything.

Yay.

My chocolate ice cream seems to be missing just a little bit of sweetness?

I live in the UK.

My usual recipe:

350ml semi-skimmed milk.

Eyeballed amount of vanilla extract.

1tbsp espresso extract.

1 scoop of Optimum Nutrition Extreme chocolate whey.

10g white sugar.

10g Erythritol.

1/4tsp salt.

1/4tsp xantham.

15g black cocoa powder (dutched).

For a basic vanilla base, I use the same recipe without anything cocoa or chocolate flavoured and it tastes just the right level of sweetness, so I'm not sure what's wrong.

I had a previous recipe where I went with 45g Erythritol instead but there was still a similar problem, would maybe adding some maple syrup or honey help, or is it something else?

[United Kingdom] does anyone have a Frozen Yoghurt recipe that matches Nando's frozen Yoghurt?

Doesn't need to be extra high in protein or low calorie, I'd like to get the right texture and flavour before I look for those options.

I know to get the ribbon look I'll need a freezer bag and piping nozzle but I'm talking about the actual texture here.

For the UK, what would you say is the best protein shake to use as a base that isn't too expensive?

I've just started with my creami and used some shaken udder I got from Tesco which was really nice but are there cheaper options that still taste good?

I also use the semi-skimmed milk + protein powder combo but some recipes request for a protein shake instead and it's easier to get a different flavour protein shake than a different flavour protein powder.

I'm considering Lidl and Aldi but I stopped shopping at Lidl after their app overhaul and Ali's shakes are

a bit high in sugar, not a complete deal breaker but considering I'm likely going to eat 1 tub each day, I'd need to pay more attention to my sugar intake.

Also, not sure if it matters but the other core ingredients I'm using so far are xantham gum, salt and sugarly as my sweetener of choice.

I would just like to recommend this dbz fanfic series called "Two Become One".

It's a kind of short series focusing on Vegito and Gogeta and "To what extent are they a sum of their parts?"

It basically starts because Bulma is very curious about the Fusions, from their genetic makeup compared to each other, Videl is curious about their psychology and how their consciousness works as a blend of two people, Chi-Chi is there for free tiramisu to take back home after it's done.

It's really interesting how through their inner monologue and conversations with others, they seem like just a basic combination of Goku and Vegito, but as you get deeper into it, they start showing traits, both physical or otherwise, that are completely unique to them.

My favourite chapter is easily Gogeta's introduction, where you see how different his thought process is to Vegito's because he's on such a short timer, it's genuinely beautiful.
