Mind you, no one is asking these dudes to bang with their nasty attitude. They've bothered several people trying to get their blood work.

Water pressure sucks after city construction on the block, how to fix?

Starting last month, there was construction work going on on my block. My water pressure was fine during the whole entire time and sucked for a few neighbors from what I understand. I went away last week I come back and now my water pressure is stupid. I can't get my dishwasher to work fully, trying to get a shower is like being gently pissed on, and other such issues. The only place I have real pressure is in my basement, which is still reduced from what it used to be before.

I called the city they sent out their people and they say they can't hear any leaks in my pipes and they checked two things in the street and they say there's no leaks there so it's obviously a me problem.

So I called my usual plumber to take a look at my system and figure out what is going on and how to make it normal again. For $150 this guy came out and proceeded to tell me that the pressure I used to have in my house was non-existent because there's no way I could have good pressure on such a small intake pipe, I guess the last 7 years of living here with decent pressure was just a fucking illusion.

In complete honesty I have no idea what he said that I could do to correct it, something about increasing the intake pipe size or cutting all the connection and putting new ones in or something I don't know, I kind of stop paying attention because he was insisting that I was a liar when it came to my own pressure and it's like hey how about you get the fuck out of my house if you're not going to listen?

So anyhow, I'm at a loss of what I'm supposed to do here to fix my water pressure. I'm not sure exactly what I need to say to the next plumber or how to fix it myself without someone insisting that no the pressure is just fine for the size of the pipe.

How to find a legal case?

I got a call from a lawyer's office (Bridgestone Legal) about a case that has been filed against a family member. They wouldn't tell me anything other than it was a case brought forth by the city. I don't know if it's a civil or a criminal case. I need to find out because this particular family member is a con artist, serial rapist, domestic abuser, and pedophile.

Yeah, he's a real fucking winner, I know.

So anyhow, if this monster has hurt someone again, I want to be able to help whoever was hurt, in any way I can. There's also a possibility that it's a family member he hurt again and I'm no contact for obvious reasons and if so, I don't want them to be alone through this. Hell, even if the city is coming after him for taxes, I want to point out how his house was bought from a couple who somehow signed the paperwork despite being dead for over a decade.

The law firm left a reference number (323-690) which I'm assuming is an internal reference number but I have no clue. Does anyone have a clue how I can look up cases and find out what's going on this time?

Midnight jackhammering?

Why is the city trying to install a telephone pole at almost midnight on my block? I honestly thought that this type of non-emergency work would not be done at this time of night. Also I just saw one of the workers slam a pole into my neighbor's car which I'm now I'm going to have to go fucking socialize and tell them if there's a dent. Thanks Parker.

What is your go-to for "why sirens?" news?

So I know a lot of people's go to is the police radio only one problem: I'm deaf. I'm not deaf deaf I struggle way too much with any radio communication and the Chirp days were hell.

So I'm not exactly sure where I can go to get the news of why local sirens are going off if reddit, nextdoor, and local Facebook groups aren't active. With the state of everything, I like to keep in the know of things close to home. I'm not at a point where I'm walking down several blocks to go poke my dumbass nose into things, after all I'm not my retired neighbor, but I would like to know the reason I just heard a whole bunch of sirens is because of a shooting that happened two blocks away from my house that I don't even find out happened until 3 days later when the actual news pops up.

Lawton Elementary Class of 1996 Does anyone else remember Mr Crell's unhinged play idea?

I realize it's been 30 years since this class happened but surely other people remember or know about this unhinged shit and if not I have to share this on almost the anniversary of graduating sixth grade.

Backstory: Lawton Elementary had a tradition of Mr. Crell, one of two sixth grade teachers, putting on the school play every year. He usually did the traditional plays: Little Shop of Horror, Beauty and Beast, etc.

But for some reason in 1996 he decided he was going to make a play himself which he took Jerome K. Jerome's "The Palpitating Heart" that was in our English textbooks (The story is basically about a very anxious man who is in love with an oblivious woman because our anxiety guy is the shy I'm going to flirt with you telepathically and how dare you not pick up on it type and he creates love triangle narrative and due to his bad communication skills he worries himself to death and the female lead is just like wow I had no clue.) And continue with an OJ Simpson style trial of the woman and other guy on trial for the murder of the palpitation guy that would include mock dancing judges just like the dancing judges on Jay Leno.

As an adult especially after some indulgences, I can appreciate the unhinged surreal humor of all this but as a 12 year old, I was really fucking confused because his plot didn't make sense. For the life of me, I can't remember how this was supposed to end. I'm not sure if he ever told us the end because one day he basically announced to the class that because we were the worse class he had ever had in X amount of years, he was cancelling the play. I mean, he really went in on us about how it was our faults we couldn't put on this grand play of his. Personally, I think he never figured out a good ending to this play or some parents/staff go involved.

For everyone who didn't go to Lawton, I need to tell you how Mr Cell looked to really set the scene of this. This man showed up in suits every damn day, he would do these little movements when he was talking so he'd kinda flash the label, like it was a subtle look at how much money I have with my Armani suits, he'd wear those big fancy block sunglasses that were worn by tough guys back in the 1980/90s and leather or alligator shoes with matching belt. I swear every year he'd have a new car and distinctly remember him having a purple Plymouth prowler at one point. He'd always have his hair was sprayed so much it was like a black helmet slicked back and gold jewelry and his skin was always that tanned leather look. Looking back as an adult, the man looked ridiculous.

Water Issues on the Block?

So our street's corner store has been having water issues that is affecting my neighbors, my place is just fine. This was sent to the neighborhood group chat and it doesn't sound correct. My block is full of unreliable narrators and I can't get a straight answer out of the majority of them and I wanted to know if anyone else has heard of this? I already have the insurance as it was recommended when I moved in but still it sounds off for PWD employee to say everyone needs this insurance before they'll fix issues.

Hide but don't remove friend?

Probably a stupid question but figured it can't hurt to ask.

So my irl friend died. Seeing it up pop 'your friend has this game' or recommendations hurts a little. I know the most obvious answer is just to unfriend, but I don't know if I'll ever be ready to unfriend the account. It's stupid, I know. So is there a way to stop seeing that stuff for one person?

edit: the "block all communication" option worked perfectly.

Theater goers how can I find out if a production is union or no?

Because I'm halfway through the worst production of Chicago. This is the most low energy, boring production I've seen. The only excuse I can figure is that because it's not a union show and there's no standards. I've seen better acting from Mr Crell's sixth grade class 30 years ago (iykyk) How the hell did these people make Chicago boring, it's almost impressive.
